Considering Yuri hasn’t been given an official birthday (Or her age for that matter, but I HC my Yuri on default as 19), I’ve decided to choose one for her! 

Her birthday is September 15th, making her a Virgo!

“Well...that was incredibly dull...” An annoyed sigh escapes the lips of the empress, her arm resting on a balcony that was outside the great hall. Parties such as the one the council had thrown that beautiful evening to celebrate the empire’s greatest triumph had begun to lose their luster. The same held true for any victories she and her armies had won as of late.

At first, they were simply upholding justice, taking out corrupt leaders of smaller nations and providing salvation and security to their citizens as they became assimilated in the empire. However, as they expanded and gained global prowess, her council had decided it was time to expand as far as they could go. She didn’t like using her great power for such selfish reasons, but...she went along with it. After all, she had a responsibility to her people. Resources were needed to keep any civilization afloat. She knew that better than anyone.

Still, she can’t help but feel like there has to be another way to go about this, a missing piece where justice could be upheld and the needs and futures of the people could be secured. Gai was no help either. He was a strong warrior, the strongest gladiator they had, but he wasn’t exactly the best when it came to handling politics and leadership. It’s why she was empress and he wasn’t, despite the familial relation. 

Oh well, guess she’d just have to keep on pushing forward until a solution found her. She makes a turn to head back to her chambers for the night, but is suddenly stopped by the sight of a man she hadn’t seen before. He clearly was one of her people, his attire gave that away, and yet...she couldn’t help but...stare at him. 

Maybe it was the light of the torched flames shining on his person, or the fact she didn’t sense him coming. Either way, she awkwardly looked at him for a few moments before finally deciding to speak.

“Um...Do you need something? I...I don’t believe I’ve ever seen you around the palace before. Are you new?” Yuri’s voice was casual, totally unbefitting of someone of her status. She normally would be a lot more strict with someone, especially a stranger. There was something about him that just...melted away any hardness in her. Just who was this guy, and why was he here?

Once again, Yuri had taken the lead. It at first felt odd settling back into a leadership role after Kenji had lead Team Caesar for so long now. Sure she took charge now and again, especially when things were out of hand, but she more so supported the team rather than be the frontrunner. She had become so content with following after the blonde’s enthusiastic lead, battling alongside him and simply enjoying watching all three members improve at their game and fight their hardest. 

Well...that was until the Reverse had found her, that is. And it opened her eyes to the truth.

Team Caesar was started by Yuri. It was her idea to form a team with her brother, and it was her idea to let Kenji join. Over the years, she had sort of forgotten that was the case. She even gifted Kenji her special pendent after they won the nationals, a special item that matched one Gai had. What kind of leader gave the reins so easily? A weak willed one, that’s for sure. 

That’s why she had decided to say goodbye to her old self, to embrace the gifts of Link Joker and fully reinvent herself. And so far? She was quite pleased with the results, surprised even a t how things were falling into place.

With every Cardfight she or her growing army won, the power empowered she felt. She enjoyed being able to lead, just like she did when she lead her units into battle. It was oh so satisfying to watch those who dared resistance fall one by one and join. It was even better though with the man who was beside her, Kenji having been the first to fall at her hands and join her in the Reverse.

Even like this, her fondness for him was ever present, Yuri outstretching her hand towards him so he could take the chance to kiss her hand like a knight would. He had become very much like that in a sense, being her army’s secret weapon and absolutely destroying anyone who dared tried to get in her way. She really did feel like she was the Empress that her cardfighting nickname labeled her as, and she wasn’t exactly going to stop her conquest anytime soon. 

Why would she when she was getting what she wanted?

“Koutei...I think it’s time to return what is rightfully mine, don’t you think?” She says, hazel eyes focusing in on the silver pendent around his neck. That pendent belonged to the leader of their team, and well, he wasn’t the leader anymore was he?
