there’s a note left for him on the coffee table , visible because she’s moved everything around it to the side ( she wanted him to see it , after all ). there wasn’t any special occasion for it , nothing that really called for it , except her own need to suddenly ... at 3 am. she isn’t sure what called to her , but it did.

the letter ;

i don’t know why i’m writing this , and I don’t know how to start this , but i just felt like i needed to tell you all of this. it isn’t bad , so don’t freak out , yo — ya ! it’s really good. i guess i was just thinking about the break up and , i know that’s in the past but i don’t want things to get left unsaid anymore. i don’t want to end up like that again ... i know it was all my fault , so ... i just wanted to say some stuff.

i care so much about you. like so much , i feel so icky and warm inside , and it’s all your fault. i used to be hard , you know ! ;) but now i just see you and i’m as good as a baby bear or penguin or something. and i mean , why wouldn’t i be ? you’re amazing. like , really , don’t roll your eyes or clam up or whatever , you are ! you put yourself in direct danger for the betterment of something good , you’ve survived the ... god ... wildest things i’ve ever heard of. you survived a whole BUILDING just LANDING on top of you and you’re like , up and moving ! and are getting stronger and better every damn day. that’s ... you’re quite a presence to be around , babe. i mean it. you probably don’t see that about yourself but i do. it’s all i see when i look at you.

i also see how great you look in those fishnets ... ;)

anyways , this letter is getting long but also not long enough ... but i suck at voicing things , im much better at showing my love. i also suck at ending these things. so i’ll just end it like this:

i love you , my crispy man. and i’ll show you how much i do when i get home , if you’re interested.

a glance at the other, cotton mask hiding the bottom half of his face with a hoodie drawn up. it was miserable with the weather being not cold enough for a hoodie, but these were the lengths he went to in order to hide his identity so whatever. but the voice---so familiar, & he knew why now.

truth be told, he couldn’t sleep---between the mission, the night terrors weren’t helping his stress levels & his skin would soon peel off before he got any proper rest.
