#🐚The Tragedy of Titania🧊 AU

Is it weird that I'm thinking of like, a platonic yandere X-Men Titanic and Siren/Mer/Selkie AU? The large ocean liner wouldn't necessarily be the Titanic, but the version of it or something similar in the X-Men Siren universe...

Reader is on a boat, one so grand and large and opulent that uts considered the ship of dreams, and they're on their way to an unknown place, where hopefully they'll be safe, somehwere safe for all mutants... As they explore the ship, painting and drawing who they can and earning a but of coins, they meet so many odd and fantastic figures, with interesting stories and hidden depths, all of whom are going where they're going... a place called Genosha...

Yet, on a cold night in darkness, the ship strikes something-! And there's something, or multiple somethings, that seem to be aboard the ship, hastening it's demise... Reader fights to escape, to make it, to get off the sinking vessel and make it to a lifeboat...

But sadly, they pass away, before they can be saved, be it by humans or by the beings who waited so long for new members...

Reader reincarnates decades later, going on a replica of the infamous vessel that sunk and took most of its passengers and crew with it...

But waiting for them are old friends, who won't let them die this time, or escape their clutches...

(I'm not sure what to think of this au idea, but I love Titanic, I love sirens and mers and selkies, and I love the idea of opulent dinners and pretty dresses and the foreboding sense of doom hanging over it all... And yes, it's platonic yandere!) (What do you think, @sugar-soda and @weebwholovesuchihasasuke and @c0ld0utside and @danni1323 and @vivid-bun and @crowwithguns? I've been trying trying figure this au our for quite a few years, and now might be a good time to expand on the idea and see what y'all think...)

question for the titanic au, would the x-men also be reincarnations? Or were they always sirens? Or were they human and something happened to them?

if they are also reincarnations, why did it take so long for Reader to reincarnate?

Good questions, @crowwithguns! Okay, let me answer them-!

Question One: Reader and two others are reincarnations

Question Two: Charles, Erik, and Raven were always sirens, the other adults weren't

Question Three: Most of them were human at some point! But due to ocean magic/Genosha reviving its mutant offspring, they were changed into sirens/mers/selkies, with little to no memory of being human, save for small snippets (which include Reader memories, because they love Reader!)

Question Four: Well, I'd say trauma, or Reader's soup having to eventually move on to something new. So once it had grieved or been asleep/healing for awhile, it just came back to Earth somehow!

(Yes, yes, ask the questions!) (I was obsessed with Titanic for YEARS, hivelings! I think it's showing-) (I may need to open up a Halloween themed ask period during maybe September... I'll think about it...)
