I really do like your thoughts on Lucifer taking a girl(who is not his daughter but he wishes he was) and supporting her. He may be a bit overbearing at times but you can shrug it off as him being a dad which is why you don't exactly see when the touches become more than platonic...Many thoughts about it and also sususud of course Valentino does not use spell check.

You'd heard from others that, before this, Lucifer had been solitary for ages. When he keeps asking you where you've been, fussing over you like you're some child, and keeps reminding you that he can protect you from everything and anything- You try to tell yourself that that's all because he has been away from people for so long that his social skills have gotten a little bit iffy. And it's kind of nice... To be cared for and looked after to that extent, you know? Hell can feel so lonely sometimes, and if you want anyone in your corner, it would definitely be him.

It's a bit harder to justify that this fallen angel, who has previously established himself as a kind of father figure, doesn't know the boundaries between normal touchiness, and something else entirely. His hands linger just a bit too long on your thighs when he plops down next to you, or you can feel his eyes resting just a ltitle too low, burning into you, as your back is turned against him. (One pro of his short height, maybe.) But you're sure that it's unintentional. Because he's just this kind of goofy and weird, nice guy, right? ...And yet, he's also the king of Hell.

Oohohoho man I LOVE this movie we're going full campy AU for this one. (I know technically I wouldn't name the actual fic "O Brother Where Art Thou" but I've already got the idea so we're rolling with it)

So obviously O Brother Where Art Thou is already basically an AU fanfiction of Homer's Odyssey, but we're gonna take it a step farther. They're X-Men now.

Ulysses (George Clooney) is Wolverine - he's been trapped in Stryker's lab for years, and now he's on his way back to his lover Jean... only to find her married to new suitor Scott, and his kids all call him Dad.

Delmar (Tim Blake Nelson) is Nightcrawler - he's a little goofy, and has a penchant for chasing after any woman he comes across, but he'll stick with his team to the end

Pete (John Turturro) doesn't seem to be a mutant at first... but after encountering the sirens Emma Frost and Madelyne Pryor, his mutation comes in. He's Toad! (okay, okay, this is solely so I can keep the "we thought you was a toad" joke)

📚 While trivial in feasibility elsewhere, Jelly Worm’s Sticky Goo provides a rare remedy for injuries and debuffs on top of providing a few seconds of invincibility. When utilized in wave 1 against the Scarabs, wait until your frontline sustains enough injuries to make the Goo target them, as it only protects the one Cookie with the lowest current HP. While protected, use the Blind Healer’s Staff to heal them back up so they can tackle the Yeti in the next wave. In wave 3, that’s when your choice in defenders comes into play, mainly where we return to the same song and dance of protecting the main damage dealer against the Ents while holding off the Cake Hounds. By the final wave, all three Ents unsupported by anything else will try to defeat your main attacker all at once. Use the Goo if it’s ready when you’re about to use your attacker’s main ability to ensure it connects entirely, and heal them while they’re invincible so they can sustain more hits. Strawberry Crepe Cookie works wonders here as your vanguard since “Crepe Thrust” will usually protect your main damage dealer from half the damage they’d normally take. With the right toppings, they can also take a barrage and a half from the front and not flinch at any of it! Hollyberry Cookie’s Damage Focus buff from “Oath on the Shield” is mainly a secondary protection just in case “Crepe Thrust” doesn’t provide enough defensive power.

Editor’s Note: That last part regarding Hollyberry indeed came into play with my team since Sea Fairy barely got by without being KO’d with what looked like about a couple thousand HP. That was on my 3-Star completion.

What puts Hollyberry and Strawberry Crepe above another DEF Up ability like Licorice Cookie’s “Licorice Servants” is that they’ll play as an unbreakable vanguard (especially as a tag team) and won’t attract the attention of the Ents should your main attacker fall. Licorice, on the other hand, would get crumpled like a paper ball in seconds by the Ents if the team’s main attacker falls, usually due to his low HP as a Magic Cookie.

📚 Even as we head deeper into the woods with less light to shed, the Licorice Cake Hounds still aren’t a major problem. That distinction goes to the Ents. Again. Do what you did to protect your damage dealer in the second and third waves, but prepare for a mixed melee towards the final wave. An alpha Licorice Cake Hound flanked by two of its subordinates will engage from the front while one of each Ent in the back team up to deliver both shackling AND corruption. This fight will be bitter until the very end.

Even as we see what happened with Caramel Arrow Cookie and Affogato Cookie in The King’s Court, brash assumptions were made that day as she was cast into the forest and told not to approach the Black Citadel again. No, there was no big brass playing, and no, this wasn’t in an infernal casino against the owner in trying to shed a debt. It didn’t take place in the 1930s either, it happened a moon ago (presumably a month). Now can someone get this lion off of us and can someone get Wizard Cookie to not attract the beast’s attention with his screaming?!

📚 Leading up to the boss fight, these formations should be easy to scatter with splash damage and consistency in healing. Just beware the Ents in keeping your highest ATK Cookie alive, and watch the Cake Hounds and Scarabs attacking your frontline. The more they batter at your vanguard, the more injuries that will persist leading into the encounter with the Frozen Peak Prowler.

Abilities

Frost Shred: Frontal melee attack that causes knockback and inflicts the Healing Down debuff on anyone that’s too close to it

Double Swipe: Does a double melee attack with its claws to inflict Injuries

Snow Lion’s Roar: A deafening roar that can damage three targets at once regardless of their positions in the lineup

Spiritcaller: Summons angered spirits to cause large damage to the three closest targets

📚 This fight was quite the ancient ordeal. Despite the comparisons we did with Licorice before- [gets nudged aside]

💀 HEHEHEHEHEHEH! That’s right! My Licorice Servants combined with a powerful defense buff and damage combined showed that lion who’s boss!

📚 Er… that and Cotton’s combined sheep stampede and healing effect over time overwhelmed the beast by summoning six minions at a time to close the gap and force its frontal attacks against the minions. Still, bring the feather. The roar of the beast can pierce through the entire group if the injuries don’t do that already. After staggering the boss enough, Caramel Arrow Cookie came to our aid and got us out of that sticky situation before introducing herself.

what’s your favourite song(s) to sing/hum?

i mean, i am constantly singing or humming something or other and it changes often. i guess the songs i've been defaulting to lately are all the kings by editors, the bronze by qotsa, and where the river goes by stp

what are your favourite flowers/trees/plants

flowers: lily of the valley, orchids, irises, amaryllis, hydrangeas (specifically the blue purple ones), bougainvillea. trees: sugar maples, sycamore, gingko. plants: cacti in general, succulents

favourite colour(s)?

bright yellowy orange, any kind of purple that leans more red or gray than blue, silver, rose gold, any red that's cherry or darker

what do you always doodle (if you ever do)?

inanimate objects bc i am terrible at people and animals. if i do anything related to humans, it's usually a single eye or a nose

how do you take your coffee/tea? If you don’t like those what’s your fav warm drink?

coffee has to be, like, 50% milk+sugar or flavored creamer and i prefer it cold.

tea i can take hot or cold, and i prefer it to be liberally sweetened with honey, but i can drink it unsweetened if i have to. no milk or creamer for tea though, that's just weird, man

favourite candle scent?

i remember this one really lovely gardenia candle i got in nashville once. it was glittery too, very special. i refused to burn it bc i wanted it to last forever since it smelled sooo nice

sunrise or sunset?

sunset, always. the thin golden veneer of sunrise light is pretty and all, but it does not compare to the gorgeous rose gold glow of sunset.

what perfume do you wear if any?

just this jasmine body spray that i got at target. i've had it so long that i don't even know if they still make it. i hope they do because i'm almost out and it's my fave. if we're talking actual perfume, i always liked Hot Cotoure by Givenchy

what’s your go to dance move when you’re alone?

i Do Not Dance because i value my life and limb, and the lives and limbs of others around me

the kind of hazel that's a lot of greenish grayish color with the occasional brown splotch

autumn for the colors and the cool-but-not-cold temperatures and the delicious fall foods and the anticipation of the holiday season

neck omg nothing is better than neck kisses. i can get goosebumps just thinking about neck kisses

what does your happy place look like?

a baseball stadium.

the silhouette of the spring mountains.

the swimming pool at wellington at 11:30pm with airplanes flying overhead, a few stars in the sky, and the Luxor beam visible in the distance. my bf and i are the only ones swimming, though there might be a couple people lounging on the surprisingly comfortable patio furniture nearby, chatting in low tones and minding their own business. however, we are alone just as often as not. the blue-green pool light is reflecting off our faces and off the fronds of the palm trees surrounding the pool. it's such a relaxing atmosphere. Larry the security comes by and says "how y'all doin'?" just like he does every time he comes by with the sign-in sheet. after a while we switch over to the whirlpool and relax for a bit before wrapping up in our towels and walking back to the apartment. teeny lizards scurry along the walking paths, reveling in the tiny puddles of water left by the lawn sprinklers. i want to catch one, but they are too fast.

do you ever want to be married? If so what colours would you pick for your wedding theme?

i practically am - my bf and i have been a couple for ten and a half years and have lived together for seven. the only reason we're not married yet is that we can't afford even the most basic courtroom ceremony + the license fee and blood tests. the commitment is there (and we would be married already if money wasn't an issue), we just lack the piece of paper that makes it official.

if we do ever get married, i imagine our colors will be white, black, and red, because we both like those colors.

When Lucifer gave you your fiftieth duck...

♡ You told him he had issues. You told him even faster that you didn’t mean it in a bad way and invited him inside to see the state of your house. While every duck meant the world to you, and your collection had grown quite substantial, they lined every wall of your tiny studio.

♡ He made the immediate offer for you to move in with him. A rather rushed explanation filled to the brim with nervous laughter, hurried gestures, and tangents the likes of which you’d never heard before all boiled down to something simple: it would fix your storage problems. Then he told you he loved you. Despite his previous ramblings, there wasn’t a shred of anxiety in his tone when he said that. No. He was serious. His posture had shifted into that of a king who had been alone in his castle for far too long. Pride could only thrive best when there was someone else to acknowledge it.

♡ You accepted the duck with welcome arms as well as Lucifer’s invitation to move in with him. Then you accepted Lucifer with the same arms right into a warm embrace, and you told him that you loved him too. There was no room for doubt in your apartment. Lucifer didn’t provide any reasons for you to worry either. From day one you had felt nothing but adored. You had nothing but love to give back to him.

♡ He took back the duck and all fourty nine of your other ducks to transport them to their new home. Magic made the move fast, although you needed to tell your landlord you wouldn’t be paying for the old place anymore. That was going to be a hidden cost. There was no denying though that you were swept up in Lucifer’s enthusiasm when he began to lay out all of the wonderful things you could do together to celebrate. You fed him more ideas, and it looked like you were in for a long day of baking, crafts, walks, reading, dancing, organising your shared space, relaxing, more crafts…

♡ You found a special place to put your new duck along the ranks of all the rest. Lucifer was right. Moving in with him fixed all of your storage issues.
