Trembling. When did he ever tremble? Suppose when it was storming like this. When thunder roared and shook the trees. At first, he doesn't register his beloved's presence. Not until he's kneeling in front of the small Sovereign. When he goes to look up and he's hugged immediately to the former cryo Sovereign's chest. Feeling his lips pressed to his forehead.

Hearing a whispered promise that it will be alright. Sweet, really. Even if he's never seen Eros afraid before now- he wants to comfort him. And such a thing means so much to a being who'd lacked comfort for who even knew how long.

"I do not like this noise, Nik...it makes my ears hurt." He whispers, feeling another kiss as he wraps his arms around the other now. Enjoying the closeness.

"Why does the sky do these things-? I do not like it."

It certainly isn't like she growls often at the very least! No, not outside of when she's trying to play with him. And for that reason does she think that she's doing very well. That part is why she pouts as she tugs on his shirt. "It will not! You're such a liar Niki! So unfair, too! A big mean dragon, that's what you are!" Not that she actually believes that. Her beloved is the sweetest as far as she's concerned.

Never once has he been mean, even when he was trying to push her away at first. When those growls had been far more common than they were nowadays. Before they'd fallen in love.

"You did though-! I was not being mean, you started it! You said that you wouldn't give me any little kisses-! And you know that- that I love little kisses!" she argued, bouncing on his toes as she tried to pull him down for another kiss. Though, she did stick her tongue out at the feeling of his little boop to her noise.

"N-no...but- but usually you don't try and take things away from me either. So- so you started it! Yes you did, mhm. I'm still a good girl!"

( 🧊 )    WHEN SHE POUTS like that he cannot help the laughter that threatens to tumble from the elder , which once again came to pass. it was if a frog had somehow found its way within her cheeks with how she looked -- while not so much laughable . . she was still cute nonetheless.   ❝   IF YOU KEEP that expression up you may end up stuck that way.  ❞   wouldn't be much of a loss ; she'd still be cute looking . . ~

ALL THE TIME ? no , it had been a long time since he had even had the need to growl at the smaller of the two. perhaps as a tease or in a playful air but nothing of the sort where a growl could be seen in a negative light.

  ❝   I DO NOT . . at least for a long time now. the growl you gave me sounded rather mean versus any playful ones i lend toward you , no ?   ❞   he's pouting as he looked down at her , poking her nose as to accent his point while a light snort escaped him. her mention of him saying that she was a good girl often caused the cryo sovereign to chuckle slightly.

Truthfully, there were times she just wanted to bite him! Not that he hadn't given her permission time and time again, but all the same. Even she could be aware of when she shouldn't. Even for all the times that she didn't know when not to do others.

Only occasionally could she be well behaved.

Though, his words have her frowning, too. Pouting, even as her cheeks puff back out. How unfair! To deny his sweet little partner something he knows she craves so much! Truly unforgivable.

"Not fair-! Niki growls at Eros all the time!" Not at her, just in her general vicinity really. He hadn't actively growled at the younger Sovereign since before they'd fallen in love. Or if h had? She hadn't paid enough attention to it. "I'm a very good girl-! You always say so!"

( 🧊 )    EROS MADE IT   difficult to not pinch her cheeks sometimes   ,   tail swishing behind him as he grew more and more nearing caving into aggressive affection.   he huffs   ,   pressing his face more into the other sovereign's hair   ;   focus on the scent as a frown sits 'pon his lips.   he's not   angry   with her   ,   mostly at himself with how easy he was to convince as well   . .

BOTH OF THEM   were rather ridiculous.

A MAGIC SECRET.   my   ,   his beloved was full of   surprises   even now   ,   not that he minded all that much.   learning new things about eros brought difference into a life that he had already lived long in   ---   breathing new life into it wasn't something he could ever hold against her.   their height difference lent some hold of teasing within his hands   as a chuckle   escaped him.

MORE   KISSES   ?   hmm   . .   he didn't know.   ❝   HAVE YOU BEEN   good for more kisses   --   you  growled   at me earlier   ,   beloved.   ❞   his finger taps against   the other's nose   as a playful gaze lowered down toward the shorter.

Really she was lucky that he hadn't held out that long. Granted, she'd given in, but all the same. It felt so unfair that he'd even threaten such a thing! Because he knew how much his little partner adored kisses and affections. Knew that she wanted his love constantly. Kisses and hugs and cuddles. To be touching him at all hours. So of course, how could she not growl when he tried denying it?

But she could never actually be mad at him.

Especially not when he was giving her what she wanted. Their lips pressed together as she reached up to tangle fingers in his hair. Tail wrapping eagerly around his as best as it could. How could she ever want to let go over him? He knew this- or she thought he did, at least.

"Mhm, a magic secret! I- don't know how to do it, though." He leaned into the affection as those purrs came back to his throat. Thinking on the other's words a moment. "More though-? More kisses?"

( 🧊 ) OH IT WAS disparaging that he would have had to deny the smaller the kisses she so desired and asked him every day for. in the morn , the noon and the evening he would get such requests and he was always happy to oblige. in the long term the cryo dragon wouldn't be able to hold out for very long . . having grown desiring such affections daily. he could curse his beloved for leading him into such a state but . .

( HE COULD NEVER stay mad at her )

OH ? IS HIS beloved giving him a growl ? how precious is she ~ the former sovereign of cryo cannot help the laugh that escapes him from within the kiss he poses to his darling. as he quietens he purrs , tail beginning to curl around her waist as he made it difficult for her to back out of ( not that she would , with how clingy she was and clutching onto his clothing . . ever predictable ).

❝ A SECRET HM ? ❞ nikita noses the side of eros's head as the kiss parts , pressing his face into his hair contentedly , his next words rather muffled against his head. ❝ IS IT A magic secret ? ❞

He really knew just how to get to her. That any attempted denial of affections would have her whining and pouting. Not that she knew just how long the other would fail to hold out, but she certainly believed him entirely. That he'd keep them away until she gave him the information he was looking for. And she hated that!

For shouldn't he want to give his cute little partner kisses anyway?

It's one of the first times there's a rumble of a growl in her throat as she waits for him to finally give in and come down to her level. Fingers clutching his clothing as she pulls him with his movements. Getting on the tips of her toes so she can press their lips together before her own tail goes back to wagging.

"But don't tell anyone else! It's a secret, really!" For what reason she wasn't aware anymore, really. Not like it mattered. Gaiea had just said it'd be 'their little secret' so long ago and she'd more or less gone with it. Another quick kiss stolen before he could move away. "Promise? Y'have to promise, Niki!"

( 🧊 ) HE WAS RATHER . . smug once he realized he had won with the minor threat. he wouldn't be able to hold off for an extended period , he wasn't that cruel and he could barely last long enough to see her pout and whine ( and the inevitable of crawling all over him to try and steal a kiss ) if he followed through with it.

LUCKILY FOR HIM though . . she was taking the bait.

HIS TAIL SWISHED behind him as he merely shrugged in nonchalance as she expressed how unfair ( it was rather fair ) it was for him to threaten such a course of action. he stands firm as she tries to pull him down for a kiss that he had expressed she'd not get until she was forthcoming with the secrets of the frog pocket.

WEIRD LITTLE POND place. sounds . . about right for his beloved. interesting. a whole pond being in her pocket somehow due to whatever her mother had done made sense to the sheer amount of frogs. alright. ❝ ALRIGHT ALRIGHT. COME here. ❞ chuckling , he lowers his upper body to her level , gifting her with a kiss.

Well, that certainly got her attention. Not moving as he took her wrist in his hand. Huffing softly as she nudged against his forehead in turn. Little cheeks puffing out in a pout as she thought it over.

Suppose he at least understood what weakness the little Sovereign had. And that was- something to be said about how easy Eros was to read, wasn't it? That just the threat of kisses being withholding was enough to get the smaller one squirming.

"Ah- N-Niki that's not fair-!" It was perfectly fair. She just wants to whine about it. Her free hand comes up to tug gently at his shirt, trying to bring him down to her level for one. "Okay- okay! It's something that my Mama did for me- I can put the frogs there and they go- into this weird little pond place where they're safe and they can come out when I want them to-! Now- now kiss? Please-?"

( 🧊 ) THEY GO IN her pocket . . yeah he can see that clear as day ; what he wants to understand is where they go once they reach her pocket. did she have some sort of . . pocket or something akin to the adepti's portable teapots ? odd. he had a feeling that she'd barely explain it to him --- which would leave him thinking on it for a long time to come.

HIS NOSE SCRUNCHES when he's proven right as he gently grasped at eros's wrist to pull him in closer , eyes narrowing down at him 'fore bumping his forehead against his with a huff.

❝ OF COURSE IT is. you wanna be troublesome and secretive then fine . . but i suppose i'll have to withhold further kisses from you until you release the information ~ ❞ his free hand comes up to poke at his nose , personally looking rather proud of himself.

Feeling the other former sovereign so close has him calming slightly. That his beloved would take such care to make sure he felt safe. For Nikita'ain felt like home to the younger. With all that they had been through, both separately and together, this was where he belonged. Nestled safely in his arms. As if nothing in the world could tear them apart.

Especially not some silly storm that had him trembling as if he were a babe again.

Eros reaches up gently to hold onto his face. As if that would help to ground him further. To remember just how close they were. That even with the shaking and the explosive sounds of thunder, they were together. And that was what mattered. He was safe here. Niki would never let anything hurt him.

"N-no, not one of those ones. Um- it was the ones that there's- usually two of 'em and...and a bigger one? Like how ducks follow their mamas. Usually they run away from me but this one just looked at me...and then it was like we were playing cuz it just spun in a little circle...it was- it was funny."

( 🧊 )      THE ELDER'S NOSE pressed into his hair , wishing he could become anything larger than he already was so that he could feel like he was doing something. lacking his original shape -- one that commanded the ice and sleet more than anything . . it could protect and shield those from the outside who needed support.

HE DID WHAT he could with what he possessed. a tail , his words , and his natural cool.

NIKITA'AIN HELD LITTLE issue with eros curling around him more , happy to be of service in any shape or form or way he could. his tail squeezed around eros's as they interlace around one another , a cool exhale escaping the former sovereign as he nuzzled him closer. his chest burned with a desire to protect , even if it wasn't all that much.    

     ❝   WHATEVER. IF IT makes you feel better or enough to distract you then i'd like to know . . the natlan crystal ones ? odd . . what are they doing so far down here ? did you let it continue on its way or did you pick it up ? ❞

There's a soft giggle that escapes the smaller as Nikita'ain tries to contort himself to look at his pocket. As if to inspect it. How silly, he thinks. How funny. As if there's no reason to be confused. After all, it is perfectly normal to Eros.

So instead he tilts his head and grins. Letting go of his beloved so that he can put his hands into each pocket of his shorts. Pulling a frog for each one and holding them both out to him. "They go in my pocket, silly~."

And then he tilts his head, cheeks puffing out as he thinks. Those frogs slipping so easily back where they came from. How do they all fit into your pocket? Where they went was obvious! His pocket. But how..? How was the question, wasn't it? So instead, he grins that crooked, toothy grin of his and turns on his heel with a giggle.

"Tha's a secret~!"

( 🧊 ) HOW THE . .

NIKITA'AIN FROWNS A little as he thinks far too much about how the frogs come and go and how deep the pocket goes. is it . . magic ? something to do with the power that the former sovereign possessed perhaps --- but then wouldn't he know about it ?

HE STARES AT the pocket that the frog disappeared into , carmine hues blinking once as he squinted , unable to hold back his question in relation to the creature any longer.

❝ . . WHERE DO YOU put the frogs ? how do they all fit into your pocket , eros ❞ he lowers his neck to get awkwardly close to the pocket in question --- though the action complicated by how eros hung off his arm.

It was a miracle he was staying in one place as terrified as he was. He'd been so scared that he'd nearly darted out when he first heard it. But now he was held onto by the elder sovereign, soft whimpers escaping him as he pressed against his chest.

As the other sits down, Eros curls further around his beloved partner. Tail wrapping around Nikita'ain's on near instinct. Rubbing under his chin as he kept his hands over his ears. As if that would stop the sound.

"...whatever?" he asked, his voice quiet, trembling. Shifting only slightly to nudge his horns against his love. Thinking for a moment before he moved his hands. "Um- y-yesterday when- when I went for- for my walk there was one of those- roly creatures the um- the crystal ones? It came up to me and it just- just looked at me and then left. But- but I followed it and it was- really silly just rolling around..."

( 🧊 )      IT DIDN'T MATTER   to him if eros was afraid , simply glad that he hadn't lost him.   fear of what he could only assume to be the loud booming   of the storm   . .   he wished he could make it stop for him.   to soothe him and bring quiet back to the both of them so that eros could relax.

HIS NOSE PRESSED   against the smaller sovereign's scalp   ,   a low hum escaping him as he held the other closer to him   ;   he couldn't stop the storm from existing but he could be there for him as much as he could.

he shifts   ,   moving the   BOTH OF THEM   to sit down so eros could cuddle him if it was what he needed to do.   nikita'ain's tail wraps around the both of them to secure eros and hopefully provide further comfort.      ❝   I DO NOT   know   . .   but i'm sorry that i cannot quieten it for you.   just focus on me instead   ,   hm   ?   talk to me about whatever you want.   distract yourself with me. ❞

There's a soft pout on the younger's lips before the frog is deposited (somehow) back into his pocket. Tail wagging absently as he gets on the tips of his bare feet. Tilting his head one way and then the other before looking up at the older. And then he's bouncing on the balls of his feet, rather excitedly before hanging off of Nikita'ain's arm.

"I get to help today? I am very excited. It's been too long since I got to let my little creatures out to assist in this." He giggled, leaning back to slightly pull the other forward. "Then let's go! I like talking to you about things I enjoy!"

( 🧊 ) WHEREVER EROS GOT the frog from ( and how it made it into his pocket ----- gods the younger was weird ) the elder didn't know but at least it got the smaller sovereign to silence himself so that he could get his attention back to what they'd come for. if anything it astounded nikita'ain how eros could lose his focus and train of thought with just a simple nudge.
