"Oh, Kris!!!"

"Hi there! I wasn't expecting you back so soon! Er... Don't you have school right now? Or, did you get out early...? Well--"

"Kris!?" Ralsei jumps back in alarm. "What are you--"

Kris' hands, slick with sweat, fight to let go of the grip of the sword. A crowd has formed around them. Two guards position themselves beside Ralsei.

"Kris..." Ralsei tries to placate. "Please put down the sword... It's alright, nobody here is a threat..."

Kris grits their teeth, and shuts their eyes. Their sword is raised high up in the air.

Launched forward, the sword at the edge of Kris' hands is stabbed through Ralsei's abdomen. There is the sound of a wet squish, and Ralsei chokes on his breath- and then is unable to take a breath.

Kris is grabbed, yanked away from the Prince. The sword comes down with Ralsei, who collapses on the ground, eyes wide, and coughing.

"Someone, please, get a healer!"

"Did the lightner just turn on us?"

"Get away from them!"

"Prince Ralsei is a healer!"

"Can you heal yourself?"

The clamor continues.

"Oh, Kris!!!"

"Hi there! I wasn't expecting you back so soon! Er... Don't you have school right now? Or, did you get out early...? Well, if you don't have school right now... We could maybe... 'Hang out'?"

Ralsei looks excited.

"h...help..." They whisper.

Ralsei's smile vanishes. "... Kris?"

Kris sniffles.

They whine, hand dropping from the save point.

They sniffle again.

"Oh, Kris..." Ralsei frowns, coming up to Kris. "Do you want a hug?"

Kris looks away.

"Oh..." Ralsei coos. "Shhh... Sh."

Ralsei hugs them.

They cannot hug back.

Kris sighs deeply and walks back to Susie. She's jackhammering away.

"I have a crush on Berdly." Kris whispers.

Susie looks over. "WHAT?"

"WHAT?"

Kris flushes, as they realize they're gonna have to repeat Susie. "..."

"Susie. I have something very serious to tell you."

Susie tilts her head and stops the jackhammer. "HUH?"

"HUH?"

"I SAID 'HUH'."

"I SAID "HUH"."

"What???"

"Kris, what were you saying?"

"Kris, what wereeee you saying?"

"... Uh, i have something to tell you."

"Uh, okay."

"I have a crush on Berdly."

Susie's eyes go wide, and her expression drops. "... No fuckin' way."

"Nnnnnooo qqqqua--" Kris grits their teeth.

Kris will confess to having a crush to someone they like, but don't love, when around at least three people. Loudly.

"I HAVE A CRUSH O-ON SOMEONE. I LIKE. BUT D-DON'T LOVE."

"I want to reload."

Kris sighs in relief.

"Are you ready for the tour?"

"Yyep." Susie yawns. "Knock yourself out, toothpaste boy."

Ralsei pouts. "I really don't get that name..."

"Me neither, but it's funny." Susie grins.

"Yeah, hurry up, toothpaste boy." Kris teases.

Ralsei crosses their arms and frowns, then chuckles and moves on ahead.

"Ssooo... Castletown!" He says, gesturing outwards. "It's gotten a little cramped ever since Cybercity moved here, BUT! We've actually started construction to expand!"

He points Eastward, where scaffolding can be seen.

"Whoa." Susie says.

"Yep! Sweet, Cap'n and Cakes volunteered to help out! They're good at building, and they make sure to play music over the construction noise."

Approaching the site, the scaffolding can be seen more clearly. It appears like a few apartment complexes are being built, each with their own unique flair. Noise music is blasting over some loud speakers, covering up the construction noise. Susie and Ralsei cover their ears.

Kris looks over to a Rudinn, who is doing the same. The Rudinn smiles.

"Y'know, I was the one who complained about the construction noise!" He shouts. "So they started playing music instead! But now I can't sleep without dreaming about funky fresh beats..."

Swatchlings run around, carrying high beams and wood. Swatch is in the back, looking over some blueprints. A few popups pop up, teleporting from floor to floor and hammering in nails with Castletown residents who are helping the effort as well. The Queen sits on her floating throne, watching.

Kris will hold their breath for 5 seconds then sing happy birthday to toriel

"When I was a teenager, I... Well, things were confusing, and...

Toriel's voice trailed off as Kris began to hold their breath, their eyes went wide, and they began to sweat, body bracing for immense embarrassment.

... It felt like everything was out of control, but truly, it was gettin--"

"Happybirthday."

Toriel stared at Kris.

Kris scrunched up, pain etched on their face.

Kris looks thoughtful at your suggestion, then looks befuddled at the last part. They don't say anything back, however.

Ralsei has explained that the Color Cafe is here, too! It's bustling inside, with many citizens.

* The manager of all the tasques, she's very strict, but only to everything that's NOT a tasque...

meh. she's okay, you think. Her mask is off-putting. She's tough, which is cool. But... You dunno, she's just so... refined. Not your type. But you can see someone else liking her.

She's mean, she's got an electrified whip, fighting her means you gotta FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS... plus all her cats. You wouldn't want to.

TASQUE

* A friendly feline. You want to cuddle it.

HOTNESS: dude. no.

KILL DIFFICULTY: 10/10

It's a cat. Easy to kill, but oh... the emotional pain.

ADDISONS

* They're Addisons! All they do is advertise! Even now, they're holding up their drinks like a product placement...

HOTNESS: 2/10

They're just some guys. Who cares. You think the glowings cool, though.

DIFFICULT TO KILL: 10/10

Judging by how hard it is to fucking get rid of an ad on your computer, these guys must be like cockroaches. An ad blocker though... Oh... That'd change it up.

Kris sees the Tasque, and immediately goes over to pet it.

"Excuse you!" Tasque Manager scolds, shocking Kris with her whip. "Do NOT touch my tasques."

"Why not? They like pets, don't they?" Kris asks, trying to focus through the song that is now playing in their head.

"You would have to ASK first."

"Oh."

Kris looks down at the Tasque. "Hey... Could I... Pet you?"

The Tasque mrrps, and nuzzles Kris. Kris smiles and sits down, running their hands through the fur excitedly. They also squish the Tasques toe beans. Both parties seem happy about this.

Ralsei comes up behind them, hands folded politely. "Well, I can see you two had a lot of fun!" He says, looking at the destruction before him. "Are you ready to resume the tour?"

"Sure, whatever." Susie says, standing up. Kris does the same.

"Hey, Ralsei."

"Yes?"

"Random question: can you teach me magic?"

"Oh! Um..." Ralsei thinks. "I could... try? But since you are human... i'm not sure it would work."

"Yeah, sorry, Kris." Susie chuckles, patting Kris on the back. "Only monsters allowed in the magic club."

Kris frowns. "..."

"Uh..." Susie winces. "I mean... shit, sorry, dude... uh-"

"It's whatever." Kris shrugs. "Let's just keep going."

"Cause I did it cooler. You flailed around like a stupid fish."

"Oh, come off it." Kris rolled their eyes. "... Also, random question:"

"Yeah?"

"Tell me all the curse words you know."

"Oh." Susie raised her brows. "Uh... alright. Hm. Ass, Asshole, Asshat, Damn, Damnit, Douchebag, Dick, Dickhead...

Susie continued like that for some time.

"And finally, the best one: fuck."

"Wow." Kris says. "Some of those I don't think I've heard before."

"I made 'em up." Susie grinned. "I'm the proud inventor of 10 swear words."

"Awesome... Can I use 'em?"

"Hell yeah, spread the word."

Stand up in the middle of class and sing happy birthday to birdly, but mess up his name every time

Kris grips their desk very hard.

They groan, and sigh, then they stand up on their desk.

"HAPPPPPYYYY BIRTHDDAAYYYYY BIRDBOYYYYYYY!~"

The class is stunned into silence.

"I WANT TO RELOAD."

"Yeah, I have class. I'm not gonna go, actually." Kris deadpans.

"Oh!" Ralsei seems surprised. "Um, well, you shouldn't skip! School is--"

"Don't you wanna hang out?"

"Yes! Yes, I do." Ralsei nods. "But, um."

"Kris! Yo!" Susie comes over. "What's up? I thought you wanted to go back to class?"

"No, I'm skipping today."

"Nice, that's what I was hopin' you'd say." Susie grins. "What's up, Ralsei? Lotta new people around here..."

"Oh, yes, there is! Why don't I introduce you two?" Ralsei smiles, tail wagging a little.

Think “You keep calling us the angel. I’m assuming that’s some sort of religious thing your town has. Is that what you think of us? …It’s a little ironic considering we’re human like you.”

Kris bites their lip. They nod to Susie discreetly. They can't answer you right now.

Susie stands in the beam with Kris.

"Back to boring ass school, I guess."

Every time Susie swears, Kris must do the ducky thing.

Kris grits their teeth and whispers, as quietly as they can: "ducky ducky my little quack quack"

Susie looks over. "Huh???"

"I said school's... wack."

"Hell yeah. Wack."

As they're beamed up, Kris whispers it again.

Beam to Kris, “you should probably get home soon, your mom is probably worried about you and you can look forward to her delicious dinner too! Just remember to save before you go just in case someone decides to be an asshole again”

Kris nods.

"We should probably head out..." They say.

"What?" Susie frowns. "C'mon, Kris, we JUST got here!"

"But class is probably over by now... Uh..."

"Ohhh, your Mom will be lookin' for 'ya, huh?" Susie snorts. Kris rolls their eyes.

"Oh, yes, you wouldn't want to worry your guardian..." Ralsei ponders. "You can always come back some other time?"

Susie sighs. "I guess..."

Kris knocks on the wooden wall behind them.

"What's saving?" Susie asks.

"Didn't you read the manual, Susie?"

"I uh... I did, totally did... But... I'm just, y'know, seeing if YOU know."

Ralsei chuckles. "Well, saving is when progress is saved! It creates a moment in time you can always go back to, and makes kind of a safety net in case of failure."

"Huh..." Susie nods, looking a little lost.

Kris shakes their head.

1/3 Commands Refused

They come over to Ralsei and Susie, who are chilling together by the entrance. Susie seems to have drank a bit (of alcohol free fruity beverages) and Ralsei is holding a little pastry.

Next time Kris is with Ralsei and Susie, they will ask about Saving.

Kris sighs. "Hey... Ralsei?"

"Yes?"

"Um. What do you know about Saving?"

"Saving? Oh!" Ralsei smiles. "You want the tutorial again? Well, I did make you that handy manual--"

"I know how saving works."

"Oh. Then...?" Ralsei tilts his head.

"..." Kris rubs their arm nervously. "How do you know about it? And... Why does it work?"

Ralsei stares at Kris for a moment, smile dimming. "..." They chuckle, a little forced, and look at their pastry.

"Well... I know about saving because of the prophecy of the Delta Rune. I'm here to help seal the dark fountains, prevent the Calamity... and the best way to do that is by using SAVEs, and ACTing... And informing you two on how to do the same!"

"Can you SAVE?" Kris asks.

"Oh, no, of course not." Ralsei chuckles. "That's only for you!"

"..." Kris frowns. "..."

Kris stops in their tracks and hops up to Ralsei.

"Hey, high five."

"Huh?"

Kris waggles their hand.

"Oh! Uhm... Is this a... lightner thing?" Ralsei asks, blankly staring at the hand. "Um."

"It's... a thing friends do." Kris says. "Slap your hand on mine."

"Oh! Okay!"

Ralsei gently pats Kris' hand, and keeps it there.

"No, no, you-- you need to hit it."

"Why would I do that??? It would hurt!"

"I'm tough. C'mon."

"Mm..."

Ralsei hits the hand. Gently.

"Nice! Great job." Kris says, then hops down. Ralsei watches them go. They pass by Susie, who's still trying to get a good grip on the jackhammer. They raise their hand.

Susie smiles and slaps it so hard Kris falls on their ass. She laughs loudly, and Kris laughs too, then gets up and heads for the save.
