Continuing a melody with @ahogedetective

This was more than odd for Kaede, immediately focusing on the nervous smile. It was very similar to the type of look she had whenever she was lying to others, and it was more obvious than she thought it was. Was that going through his mind too, or was it an attempt at something?

🎼 - “I’m not sure if you realise this... but it’s painfully obvious you’re trying to hide something. As far as I’m concerned, I’ve seen you with that on all day.” Almost immediately afterwards, her hand tried to reach towards his hat.

Maybe this was an attempt to keep her from worrying, but it was only making her worse... if it was bad enough that he’d want to keep his hat on...

🎼 - “You can take it off now. All I want to do is see how bad it is... can I at least ask that of you?” Despite the slight worry that was beginning to slip into her tone, most of it was still gentle.

At first, Kaede wasn’t really sure how she was going to ask this question that had been occupying her thoughts for a while. Something she used to do back when her friends liked her piano playing was that she’d write her own pieces for them specifically, so that any time she played them, they’d automatically remind her of them.

However, even she has to ask questions sooner or later. She wants them to be as perfect as they can be! How lucky for her that she had caught him at a good time, then.

🎼 - “So, do you like a song that goes slow, or really quickly? Louder pitches or softer ones? Happy or sad sounding? Oh! What about songs with words, or without them?”

Perhaps she was asking a little too much... but it was for her own knowledge!

In all of her years of playing piano, Kaede always wanted to teach someone else how to play too. Of course, due to how people acted about her musical nature, she had been greatly put down and refrained from the thought popping up in her head again.

This was different, however. This was someone who she knew wouldn’t make too much fun out of her for her habits. At least, she hoped so...

🎼 - “And that’s really all there is to playing a song! Don’t let my playing intimidate you, we are starting from scratch, which are note placements and names!”

Anybody knew that if you couldn’t figure out where the notes were placed or what they were called, they had no chance of playing a song correctly. She didn’t doubt Shuichi’s knowledge at all, but Kaede wanted to make sure he knew exactly what he was doing and when.

And what better person to teach him than his friend, the piano freak herself!
