🌞 Λ ♅︎ I do not have to stay in this country. I have family in Norway. My cousin Inger Asper, I used to write to her as a pen pal. I remember Inger was also engaged in the politics surrounding apartheid in South Africa. We both agreed it was terrible. She liked the movie: Cry Freedom and recommended I watch it. She was very political. We had that in common since I was active in my Teens for Peace, political group. I guess I stopped writing because my stories to Inger were becoming comedies for the whole school to laugh about. I wasn’t trying to be funny and I started to feel like a big joke.

🌔 Λ 🌞Tyler is acting strange. I already know he is communicating with some bad apples online whom are obviously manipulating him somehow. He is partly channeling, and not quite himself all the time. I give him space. I understand we ALL are dealing with great shifts in body, mind, spirit. Healing from trauma is difficult and sometimes those inner discussions with oneself leads to conversation you wish you had but didn’t. What isn’t being said hurts everyone because no one has a grip on REALITY. TRUTH of what is actually happening around us, isn’t being discussed and we need a serious discussion.

🌔 ☸︎ ♇︎ Dawn Graves was a girl I knew since…at least Jr. High. She was very quiet. Her father was a corporate manager for Burgerville, a local fast food restaurant. I was always nice to her, though I don’t believe we ever had any serious conversations. We always went to each other’s slumber parties. She was always part of student activities, in which I was involved in many. Dawn kept her thoughts to herself, except ONE TIME. It was when I was cast as a LEAD ROLE, as a FRESHMAN, in a high school play. She wrote me a letter. It was disturbing. I was embarrassed for her and I never mentioned it to her, because I didn’t feel it was necessary to hurt her anymore than she was hurting herself over jealousy. She told me in the letter that she was going to get cast in a play someday, and she will be Princess of the world or something equally ridiculous and childish. I simply encouraged her to keep auditioning and volunteering to help with productions. I like getting a chance to act, but I believe the friendships and community built around a theater are more important. Dawn did eventually get to play the ‘pretty girl’ in a few plays. I was happy to have her take those roles, because I was more interested in character acting, anyway. I always have battled the jealous girls, by refusing to be competitive. If I wanted competition, I would have stayed on the Cross Country Team. It seems no matter what I do, some nut job has to ruin my day with their fucking own ego issues. The worst part is not knowing who the fuck has the problem and why. I can’t deal with an issue I don’t fucking know about.

[👾🎤]📖🎸🏹🤸🏼‍♂️[🌈] This week, we're discussing a few toymaking updates, discussing an inspiration for one of Aurora's outfits from The Thirteenth Hour, and reading the next section of the Howard the Duck novelization. As I've been preparing to paint the first run of Thirteenth Hour action figures, I was reminded of where one of Aurora's outfits (the one I sculpted for the figure) came from. Back when I was a kid, you'd occasionally see fantasy art used in video game ads, TSR Dungeons and Dragons material, and on book covers. One of my favorite images involved a female archer down to her last arrow facing off against a giant undead skeleton weilding an axe. It was an uncredited ad in a tattered copy of Dragon that our local library had discarded. Even though I had no idea how to play DnD and didn't understand most of the articles, my brother @blummer102 and I used to love to flip through it to look at the pictures. I wouldn't know the name of this painting ("Saving the Best for Last") or the artist (Daniel Horne) for decades, but I was so inspired by it that in 1998, when it came time to write my own fantasy novel at the ripe ol' age of 18, it, along with all the other 80s and early 90s sci fi and fantasy influences I've talked about on this podcast, was directly responsible for creating the look and feel of The Thirteenth Hour. The character in Daniel Horne's painting is probably the only other visual inspiration I had for Aurora other than Beverly Switzler's hair in Howard the Duck. Even before I had written this part of The Thirteenth Hour, I had already created the scene for it in my mind and sketched out an early draft of the picture that would later become the one in the book as a way of paying homage. While preparing for this episode, I discovered Daniel Horne has a website where he sells prints (including this one; needless to say, I couldn't pull out the credit card fast enough)! Shit, that's alotta info to take in but you explained it really well. It seems like a really interesting process.. I've always wondered how it worked, now I've got the gist of it. Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me.. I've been thinking about getting into concert photography recently, found my dads old camera, might take it for a spin now I know what's going on

You're into photography right? Just wondering what goes on with all that, developing, lighting and everything else?

If your talking about just how the photo-taking part works, then the way that works is light is shown onto an object or something, then the light that bounces off of that is reflected back in a hole thats in the camera. In the back of the camera is some light sensitive shit called film, and when the light that reflected back into the camera hits that, it prints onto the film.

Or if your talking about the developing process, well then you take your camera to a room to develop, which I personally call mine the red room, but in the 'red room' theres a couple different dishes of chemicals to help develop the photos. The dishes wre called the developer and the fixer. The developer helps contrast the image, and the fixer stabilizes the film and makes it so light won't fuck it up. It makes it into something called a visible negative. Then after all of that you need to dry it. I hang dry my photos but I think they can also be machine-dried. Hang drying is cheaper but it probably takes longer. You can gently squeeze the photos to get rid of the excess liquid. Then you hang them up and just wait for them to be dry. After this you need to get the image from a negative to a positive. All this means is like, if you take a photo of something green it will come out red. The printing process is what makes it green again.

The printing process can be done 2 different ways but I will explain the way I do it. When you take a photo it inverses the color and how it looks. For example a black standing stick figure would turn out white, upside down, and backwards. Printing the photo fixes that. Anyway, the way that works is you take the negative photo next to some light sensitive stuff, then you shine light on it and the negative, backwards, and upside down photo will print the right side around, up, and positive onto the other light sensitive material. And thats how you get a photo.

As for like, light effects and exposure and all that, it's not really in my field but if you want I could help you get some, I don't know, research done or something.

I don't mind at all, I like a good conversation. Well I've been playing for coming up 2 years now, my dad got me my guitar for my 16th and paid for me to have a few lessons so I could pick up the basics, I stopped lessons after I picked up how to read music, play chords and everything else that comes with learning how to play so I can learn by myself at my own pace

I don't spend too long looking after it. I wash it of course but I don't have a whole hair care routine going on like I've been recommended to have, so I doubt it, plus it tangles really easily which is half of the reason I usually keep it short. The joy of having curls!
