Happy Audio Drama Sunday! I heard so many good shows this week, let’s goooooo

🥃 I started listening to @breakerwhiskey this week, and I’m on episode 21 (which is nothing, it’s microfic), and it is so compelling. Lauren Shippen said in episode zero that she misses the improvisational feel of early audio dramas and that really comes through in this show—the wandering of the story reflects the wandering of Whiskey herself. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

🎵I am not alone in my reaction to the new season of @hellofromthehallowoods, which I think goes something like, ���Wh—who—but—Arnold?????” (Seriously, Arnold???) but I love a mystery, and I love how linear this season is starting out. I’m sure that it’ll all get more complicated soon.

💔 Have you all heard Josie’s Lonely Hearts Club? It’s a call-in advice show from a fictional radio station and it is HILARIOUS. Until this last episode, which got SAD. It's a partially improvised show, so the whole thing feels so incredibly human and it always hits. Please listen, more fictional advice shows all around.

🐺 The Midnight Burger/The Amelia Project crossover was exactly as delightful as I expected. We got two shows that love historical figures and putting people in the deep freeze. What could go wrong! Absolutely nothing. With a crossover episode I always wonder if there will be enough character interaction to slake my insatiable character dynamic thirst and for this one I definitely think there was.

🍺 Inn Between dropped an episode of Dragon’s Rest on their feed this week, and I'm here to say that we did that because it's frikkin hilarious. This last episode was so good, especially with Shax trying to talk to a bartender and the bartender getting mad that Shax was complaining about her friends and not having a professional business conversation. I love you, southern-sounding bartender, and I love you Shax.

🩸Hemophobia continues to scare the heck out of me. This series, Camp Havenside, ended exactly how I expected it to, with the extra twist of that horrible half-possessed state Sam is in. Lordt. Listen to this show. Mind the content warnings. Then like, message me about it, it has taken permanent residence in my brain.

🎭 Oh Malevolent, you never disappoint me. I adore the twists the season finale took, and the real danger Arthur and John were in had me on the edge of my seat. How are we gonna get outta this one boys! Frikkin Kayne.

💎 As it ever is, @kingmakerpod was a blessing visited upon my podcatcher. Oh man though, Lucas Lando, what a scuzbag. Like maybe the worst villain yet in this series for me, and I'm including the psychic child. Lando's just unsavory. The action scenes in this episode were excellent, and I love the use of Pocket Cinnamon. For a minute when they were looking for things in the barn that don't conduct electricity, I was very worried for the cows. Honestly now a little surprised they didn't explode a cow. Hey guys, why didn't you explode a cow?

🌈 I've been listening to this actual play, @ourstoriedinsight, and it's about all the typical actual play stuff--a party of misfit adventurers, thrown together by circumstance, trying to stop the end of the world. What stands out about this one is its wonderful sound design and its tone--it's so introspective and kind. The characters are great too. I would die for Vishakapar. If you like an actual play and you don't want to wait for it to get really good, please check out Our Storied Insight.

As for personal news, boy oh boy am I working hard on the Dead! Pray for our recording schedule these next couple weeks. As for Inn Between, we'll be putting up an episode this week that is a true banger, I hope you like it.

To celebrate one week since the ending of Such Stuff, here are some headcanons about the future that awaits our boys 🥰✨

They make it work, obviously. It takes a while for things to go smoothly, they fight some more, but they both do their best to find solutions and in the end it pays off. John learns to speak up when things are bothering him without fearing a negative reaction from Gale, and Gale learns to ask questions and not to assume he knows everything that goes through John's mind.

Gale doesn't become a full-time professional actor but he keeps acting with amateur groups and sometimes he joins the Hundredth's productions in smaller roles and John always brings him flowers at the stage door, even if he was acting too.

It's ok, though: at some point he realizes he actually likes teaching and once he's not a substitute teacher anymore he likes it even more!

Gale also runs the drama club at school, and every year there's a different actor from the Hundredth working with him to teach the kids. They put on a show that goes live for one night at the Abbotts at the end of the school year, and soon the other schools in the area want the same kind of extracurricular. Bonus: Tabitha does actually become an actress!

Marge becomes the Hundredth's official costume designer and even when she moves on to bigger clients she still takes time to design things for them for (almost) free. And after a long on again-off again stage, she and Rosie actually do get together for good and become the Girlboss/Malewife duo that was missing from the group.

John's career takes off after the Tempest, he remains in the Bloody Hundredth but also participates in productions of bigger companies. He ends up winning different awards, most importantly a Tony, and dedicates every single one to “his partner, his Buck”, and later to “his husband, his Buck.”

John and Alex act together in something at some point and Gale risks having a stroke because he didn't know he could fangirl so much.

Gale and John start thinking about moving in together around a year after the Tempest, but Gale feels guilty because he doesn't want to leave Benny with the burden of a rent too high/a house too big for a single person. What he doesn't know is that Benny is hesitating about moving in with Brady for the exact same reason; luckily for them Bucky and Brady figure it out and make the other two talk about it.

They end up finding flats in the same building, one on top of the other, which is great so Meatball can have all his four dads with him.

Benny and Gale still have lunch together at their diner on Sundays, once a month without exceptions.

When Bucky's mom and/or sisters come visit they always want to see Brady too and bring food and other stuff for both their boys.

John tries reconnecting with his father but since he still disapproves of his career he decides to cut him loose. It hurts him a whole lot, and Gale does his best to comfort him because he knows exactly what it's like.

Three years after they first met Gale decides that he wants to ask John to marry him. He goes at great lengths to plan the perfect proposal because he knows John would like something big and extravagant; he chooses the Abbotts as the perfect spot, prepares a picnic to eat on stage and vows everyone else to secrecy.

Still, the proposal doesn't go as planned because John can't keep his mouth shut (we'll see this moment in the future, I promise). But they still get engaged and they'll have a funny story to tell their guests!

John's vows at the wedding are super elaborate with quotes from good ol' Will Shakespeare, math puns, and whatnot, but he gets so emotional that he starts tearing up so his sniffles the whole time he reads them. Gale affectionately gives him shit about it after the wedding but in that moment he is so incredibly happy he feels like crying too.

Gale wouldn't mind taking John's last name after the wedding but he suggests to hyphenate them so Gale won't lose part of himself, and Gale accepts.

Benny and Brady adopt a little girl from the foster system, it's Brady's idea because he wants do be for someone else what Bucky's family has been for him. The girl instantly becomes the mascot for the Hundredth as everyone loves her, and auntie Marge makes her beautiful dresses.

The question of having kids or not creates a little bit of tension between the Bucks because they both want them but John fears Gale doesn't because of his father, and Gale fears John doesn't because of his career. They both talk about it with their sleep deprived ex roommates and they force them to fucking get it together.

They end up adopting a kid too, a few years later than their friends, when John's career is at a point where he can take some time off without risking losing too much money and opportunities. It's a little girl and her name's Viola, like the main character in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, so they take it as a sign from fate.

She becomes the Hundredth's second mascotte, and best friend/cousin to little Amelia DeMarco. When they're a little older they put on mini plays for their families, because of course theatre is a big part of their upbringing! They like to watch their dads act and the Abbotts is basically their second home. The Colonel pretends to be annoyed by it but they're his uttermost delight.

John doesn't die at 45 in this universe but he still has a health scare around that age, like a worrying bout of tachycardia right when he's working on a new project. He only goes to the doctor because Gale pushes him, he's convinced it's gonna be nothing but the doctor tells him he's actually at risk of heart conditions.

Gale immediately puts him on a healthier diet and starts worrying immensely about him, always checking where John is and what he's doing, until one day he fully has a panic attack because he can't reach him (John's simply rehearsing) and it's John turn to drive him to the hospital.

They talk about it because they can't keep goin on like this. John promises to take a break after this new show is over, then he'll talk to the doctors about a pacemaker or something. Gale makes him install an app on his watch so he can monitor his heartbeat remotely, and with the help of his friends and daughter tries to keep his anxiety in check.

They have a pretty ugly fight when John tries to launch himself into another project after this one, Gale accusing him of not caring about himself or their family.

Their friends help them riconciliate, and Crosby saves the day asking John to help him write and direct a new play; it's less stressing on the body than acting, and John finds out he's actually pretty good at that too. They win some prizes, but after the run is over John goes back to acting.

He doesn't present it as an ultimatum to Gale, he even tells him he'll quit if that would make him feel better, but Gale knows what theatre means to John and by now he's learned how to cope with his anxiety so he gives him his blessing. And oh boy, John shows him well how thankful he is for that...

What do you think of High School Aus?

I like school themes, some people don't like them because of the cliché in animes, but I like to feel nostalgic, the best years for me were in my high school, in my sophomore and junior year. I can't say the same for my middle school year.

Would you guys believe that I started watching Rain code after chapter 2? Before this, I didn't really care about this game and thought it would be bad because I was obsessed with Danganronpa at the time and only thought about Danganronpa. Now, look where I am, Having an obsession with a short king, and making drawings of it until now. XD

I don't watch anime because I'm lazy , but I still enjoy the theme and teen drama. Also when the creators use teenagers in horror scenarios, it's always good, the time when horror RPG Maker was the height of the internet was the best year. I miss this. ;-;

I also think anime school uniforms are really cool, especially the girls' ones (I still think boys deserve better uniforms)

About high school au.....

I'm in a bit of a conflict of what a high school AU would be like, on one hand I want all the characters in Rain code to be high school students, and characters like Dr. Huesca to be the teacher.

Even Yakou would be a high school student, be friend of Vivia and the Amaterasu Researcher, and Yakou being the dramatic student for grades and school tests. I know he was going to be the teacher, but imagining him being the student would be funny. On the other hand, I wanted to imagine them being school employees, imagine what kind of teacher Makoto would be? Maybe a biology teacher. Biology was my favorite subject in school and I loved reading books about it.

Silly little headcanons like student Makoto having shorter hair than his adult self, to give a touch of difference, (and also based on me imagining that his original self had short hair when he was younger), He would wear a mask that could cover half of his face and also imagine that he could be the leader of some club, or even be part of the student council, or the school union. Imagine this drama: Yomi Hellsmile would be the leader of the student council, but would use his power and popularity to bully the other students and wreak havoc on the school.

I also imagine that Amaterasu could be an elite private school, and WDO would be a standard public school? The characters being from different schools, but still having some drama, involving school sports at a certain point, or them meeting at a bus stop or after school would be interesting. But it's more fun if they're from the same school or the same class. XD

The strangest things only happen during the school year

Makoto could also be the popular student, especially for the girls who would find him cute because of his baby face and height.

About his height; He could be a standard height for a school age or relatively short for a teenager. As previously stated, in my case, I stopped growing in height after the age of 18, although each person can grow and develop in different ways. We could apply this to the characters.

Homunculi stop growing after reaching biological maturity, right? He would still grow and develop until he reached physical maturity and stopped aging because of immortality.

Physical or biological maturity usually occurs around the age of 18 to 21, although it can vary slightly depending on factors such as genetics, nutrition, and general health. This includes the closure of the growth plates in the long bones, which marks the end of height growth.

You guys may also think that his original human self may have had problems during his physical development, making him too short for an adult. If Number One became the leader of the World Detective Organization at a very young age, the chronic stress and burden of responsibility may have damaged his biological growth. This may explain his supposed fragility and weakness. Nothing is confirmed.

Makoto would also be clear proof that Yuma has always been an adult, despite the characters not having official ages, and I don't have much of a problem with age headcanons.

Parisian Mean Girls Headcannons

Sara Lemieux

Head Bitch/Leader of the "Parisian Mean Girls". Though she prefers the term "queen".

She is the meanest and cruelest out of the four. Chloé Bourgeois is a saint comparing what this bitch has done.

Sara Lemieux is infamous for crushing the spirits of every one of her peers and can snuff out weakness from miles away.

She takes immense pleasure in tormenting those who are too "weak" and "pathetic" to fight back. At the same time, she does love the challenge of slowly yet surely trying to break someone's strong will.

A master manipulator; Sara knows how to turn even the closest of friends against each other and can wrap almost anyone around her perfectly manicured fingers, whether they be one of her peers or a teacher.

She can and will make anyone's life a living hell if they dare to cross her and not fall in line.

Sara considers herself a "massive deal" and superior to everyone around her. However, she never uses her wealthy status or family's influence to get her way, unlike Chloé Bourgeois.

She partook in both physical and social bullying of the students along with her group of followers and other assholes. Their favorite victims are Noelle Odeja and Marc Anciel.

The last act of cruelty that finally broke Marc and led him to switch schools was her idea.

Treats her friends/followers as if they were beneath her and often uses her talent for manipulation to make them think that they are equal and important individuals in their friend group (though they know their place in their friend group's hierarchy.).

Makes all the rules for their friend group, including that everyone in the group except her is required to wear a choker with a heart lock under the threat of social isolation and mass school shunning. She's pretty much demanding that her friends where collars to signify that she owns them.

Cerise Leroux

Not to be confused with Lila Rossi "Cerise".

The more physically aggressive and intimidating out of the "Parisian Mean Girls".

Considers her red "claws" as lethal weapons.

Can tear a book in half with her bare hands with ease. Many of Marc's journals suffered at her hands.

When she's not clawing at some poor unfortunate soul who called her red hair "fake" (which it is), she uses her charms to get people to do whatever she wants.

She knows that many of the male students at her school are attracted to her and she takes full advantage to manipulate them.

Cerise has been the source of disarray for many of the couples/crushes at her school. Planting seeds of doubt in their minds, making them believe their partner was being unfaithful, outing/mocking a few students' sexual orientations, etc.

Secretly, Cerise is a romantic and is a sucker for romantic genres.

She finds romantic comedies, television dramas, and fairytales entertaining, but she absolutely loves romantic tales that are told realistically.

Cerise is a massive animal lover. She loves all animals and will take it as a personal offense if somebody doesn't let her pet their animal for a few hours.

Cerise may not be above cruelty towards people, but she is highly against cruelty to animals.

After she graduates high school, she plans on pursuing a career in rescuing endangered animals and using her trust fund money to build sanctuaries and other facilities to help abused/endangered animals around the world.

Cerise told her "friends" about her passion for animals and her goals for the future once, and they all laughed in her face, calling her ideas "stupid" and "pointless". She never spoke about the topic again afterward.

Colette Lyon

President of the Drama Club

Acting and pretending to be a whole different person entirely comes as naturally to Colette as breathing.

Colette lives for middle school drama and is proud to create it every chance she gets.

Constantly spreads rumors around the school, regardless if they are true or false.

As soon as Colette found out about Noelle's father's affair, she immediately spread the story throughout the whole school and made sure that Noelle would be constantly harassed about it every day until Noelle transferred schools.

Sees herself as the "perfect actress", capable of playing any role or character she needs to fool and control others around her.

Uses her talent for putting up facades to regularly create drama among the student body.

If there was a competition for the best liar, Colette would definitely have an intense battle with Lila Rossi.

Colette has information/dirt on every student at her school and she is not above blackmail or revealing it at any given moment. Rumor has it that she even has a thing or two on a few of the teachers.

Colette has a history of stealing other students' diaries and private journals and reading them out loud to a crowd of people.

Colette has gotten her hands on Marc's journals/diaries a few times and has read his stories/private thoughts out loud, knowing that he was too timid and mortified with embarrassment to protest or fight back.

She has a half-brother who attends the same school as her, but they never acknowledge each other as siblings in public and nobody has yet to make the connection between them since they do not share the same last name.

Lavender Leyva

The gloomy, odd girl out of the "Parisian Mean Girls".

Often speaks in a monotone voice and has a stoic demeanor for the most part.

The least manipulative or cruel out of the friend group.

Lavender tends to stay out of physical confrontation, but she is not against social harassment.

While she doesn't actively try to bully anyone without the other girls starting it, she also doesn't do anything to stop them and watches the torment with a blank, unfazed look on her face.

Lavender prefers to be alone with her thoughts whenever she gets a break from middle school drama.

She loves to listen to songs with depressing or mysterious vibes and dreams of becoming a singer/songwriter one day.

Often acts as "lookout" whenever the girls and guys are bullying their latest victim, though she really doesn't care whether or not they get caught.

She lost the ability to care about anything years ago.

Her "friends" constantly point out how weird she acts and her interests are often subjected to ridicule, but it's not like she cares.

One thing she will never admit to is her secret love of horror movies and novels. After all, can't look like a hypocrite for always mocking Noelle about her horror obsessions.

Unlike the rest of the "Parisian Mean Girls" who are XY fans, Lavender HATES XY!!!!

Well, there you have it. More information on this quartet of bitches. I plan on doing the OC headcanon of the guys from their middle school who partook in bullying the other students with them soon. One day when I can finally get it together, I plan on featuring all of them in a miraculous ladybug fanfic, which will also reveal the effects that their bullying had on both Marc and Noelle, especially their last act of cruelty that was mentioned before that led to Marc switching schools. Fair warning: it was really bad. Feel free to share your thoughts about these four bitches. Don't be afraid to rip them to shreds.
