Peter Parker didn't always tear up at the sight of you, sometimes it was someone else. Jarren, Ayla, Ben, Kayde, Nimaura, Gwen, Angelica, May?

There was a new Spider each day, a new person who knew you.

You never knew them, never personally, but you still cared.

This one was young. You wonder what it was that took you from him, how scarring it must've been to someone like him, someone so young. What had he seen? How did he cope? What kept him going?

He smiles, because you care, and he hugs you again.

You didn't know him. As far as you know, he's just another man in the sea of people who seem to know you; but you still cared. He was another grieving Spider. You didn't want him to cry—not like you had once, not like you knew he had once.

This Spider had loved you once before, and you had loved him too. That was enough.

Peter Parker was a genius. It was a well-known fact around Midtown High. Although mostly, it wasn't 'genius', it was 'big nerd'. Whatever—point was, he had high grades, turned in his homework on time, and made amazing presentations. Being quite the opposite, you admired him. He was a good example of why you should study. Academic success! (potentially) Getting into each University you apply! A resume you just can't turn down! Not to mention he was kind. You'd bumped into him on occasion and have built a bond over that one project you had together. And, don't forget, he was super sweet...

So maybe you had a crush on him. Maybe pursuing him would lose you a couple unspoken, social brownie points. You didn't much care for those anyway—but he wasn't just a big nerd! The wonderfully friendly, lovely kind; he was pretty. Peter Parker was–you swear it's not an exaggeration–the prettiest boy you'd ever set your eyes on.

Maybe you wanted to get to know him better.

"So, tomorrow, after school, at the library?"

He'd agreed with that. But when the time actually came… "Sorry! Aun–my aunt, May, insisted I bring you over. She says, like, the only friend I have is Ned! Which is clearly not true by the way," Not to mention his rambling was cute. "but she said I needed to make a good impression. You already have a good impression of me though. I think. I–uh, sorry for assuming. Unless I'm assuming correctly? I–"

So here you were, in his room, sat awkwardly at the edge of the bed, laptop on your lap. This may have been an excuse to hang out with him, but you actually did have homework. Peter laid behind you on the bed, having finished his homework an hour in.

"After the blip, I found out a bunch of these Star Wars movies and shows came out–Mandalorian, Solo, Blips ironically–in the five years I'd missed. I had to watch all of them. Each one. It was annoying—not that it wasn't enjoyable! Just–"

You stop him in his rambling, unfortunately, to ask him about a problem. "Hey, Pete, number 18? What the fuck am I doing."

He snickers and sits up to lean over your shoulder. "That's–" He stops himself before he can accidentally insult your intellect, "…it can be confusing. Let's see… So," He points at a part of the problem on your screen, reaching over your shoulder. "this part. Doesn't it look similar?"

"Oh, yeah."

"You do everything you've…"

In no time, Peter manages to explain the problem to you, thankfully being able to avoid complicated jargon. He continues his rant, staying in his sitting position behind you. "Anyway, I had to find a balance between work and binge-watching. Aunt May complained that I was hardly coming out of my room."

"I think I did it."

Peter leans his head over your shoulder again. "You did." He smiles, "Well done. The procedures a bit vague but,"

"Thanks." You turn your head towards him.

He stops in his tracks, lips open mid-word.

Your faces were so close to each other. What was that, a couple centimeters? Fuck, you can't think right now.

He clears his throat, "What was I saying?"

"I don't know." You admit.

You don't move away from each other.

His eyes move down and… "I've always liked your lips." He licks his own. "They always seemed plump. A nice color too, remind me of roses. They look like they belong to your face. I mean, they do!" He musters a small chuckle, "Just that… your face is a puzzle and your lips are the perfect piece. I…" Peter rambles on, and not once does his gaze leave your lips.

"Do you want to kiss me right now?" You ask abruptly.

"Y–" The sound comes out weak from his lips. He clears his throat, trying to find his voice. "Yes." He admits.

"Good." Your hand meets his cheek and he almost jolts away from it. "I do too."

He leans, and so you do. You slot together like pieces in a puzzle. At least, that's what you'd like to say.

Peter's nose bumps awkwardly against yours. "Oh–!" He lets out a small, nervous laugh. As much as the embarrassment burns in your chest, you laugh too. "I'm sorry."

"Nah, I think that was joint effort."

He laughs at that too.

You kiss. Finally. You didn't think it would only take one "date" but you're not complaining.

The kiss feels just like everything you have and haven't imagined about it. Were you fantasizing about kissing him in the middle of class? Maybe. But it's also more than that; more than anything you could've ever dreamed of.

Peter pulls back. He would move his head and his stare away in bashfulness, but your hand was on his cheek and he didn't want it to move.

"That was…" He trails off, not knowing what to say.

"Good?" You ask.

"More than that." He replies with a small laugh. "Way, way more than that."

You lean in for another. Then, maybe another one after that. The homework may or may not be forgotten.

Despite being in the Glade where you were all positive that everything was manually generated, from the walls to day cycles, you are all certain that the weather fell into the mix as well.
