So... have I ever done a darker/sadder tone X-Men Evolution au, where that Earth is, I don't know, cr*ppier in general? Like, people are a bit colder or meaner (and that's if you're lucky), and everyone seems to he fighting or trying to be the strongest or the leader or the one with the most blackmail... And then there's Reader, the quiet, lone teen, who tries to be better than what was doen to them.
And it confuses everyone.
Think of it this way:
• The X-Men and Brotherhood adults are more manipulative, harsh, or scary
• The teens are all more aggressive, or manipulative, or just meaner or cold-hearted somehow
• Humans are just as bad, if not worse
• Reader feels like (and technically is) the only sane man, as they see that how everyone acts isn't helping, it makes things worse, and that they want to break free from all of this
• The others become platonic yandere gradually, but start to think it's something wrong with them...
• Reader is immune, in a way, to a possible curse that seems to be on others (the wicked and malevolent atmosphere around everyone and everything), and it seems to make them a target for bad things, bullying, abuse, or manipulation...
• But Reader is a survivor, a trooper, and informs each person who tries to knock them down that they've dealt with worse...
• Reader does have traumatic backstory (and woo, is it a LOT)

Reap what you sow reader should have luck as the mutation or the ability to change probability. If we’re feeling animal mutation hyena my beloved
Me personally having more feral features is so fun so big fangs and weird eyes just to be unsettling and throw people off from what their actual mutation is (if it’s a non feral mutation)
Pokemon <3
Imagine the mutants are like team rocket or one of the ‘big bad’ groups and all of them are just enamored with the reader trying to defeat them, all of them acting like it’s their kid playing pretend when reader is genuinely trying to get rid of their Evil Influence ™️
(This is just an excuse to make Pokémon teams for the mutants/have their teams yan for reader and their Pokémon)
XOXO, Spino
(P.S. I am very tempted to shed my anon shell but scary)
Oooooo... you make a good point! Reap What You Sew Reader having luck or probability as a mutation, but also having feral features or at least sharp teeth or glowing eyes! (Wee!) (They need hugs)
And woo! Pokémon! If Reader had to defeat the different teams like they're Team Rocket or general evil/petty villains, they're taking all of it seriously. Meanwhile, the villains are planning how to throw a surprise party for Reader and their pokemon, and also trying to find out how to get them to become champion once amd for all! Mwahaha! (They're a fun group, their pokemon love Reader's pokemon, and the platonic yans love Reader as their kid/friend/sibling/rival/nemesis!) (Pokémon teams are so so so fun to make!!!)
And hey, don't feel pressured to reveal yourself if you aren't ready yet. It's okay if you want to, but do it at your own pace, okay? When you're ready, you can do it, but do it when you're up to it. If you need longer, take longer. No rush.
Thank you, Spino Anon! I hope you're doing well!

Okay, let's also say, that Reader ends up as a reluctant villain or sympathetic one: they have a mutation associated with death, darkness, and/or scary things in general, they're stuck at best with neglect and at worst with physical and/or psychological abuse, and they just feel like their life is one big mess (understatement of this au).
So, ideas for their mutation/s:
• black widow, scorpion, viper, crow/raven, hyena, or wasp mutation
• death-related powers (bring others back to life, kill with a touch or prolonged touch or thought, etc.)
• luck mutation (good and bad luck, fortune and misfortune)
• odd/bright/dark colored eyes, odd trait like unnaturally sharp teeth or nails, or a tail, or some other odd/non-human traits
• a mixture of two or more of what's listed before this
I just think it'd be cool to have a villain Reader, whomis actually a threat. They're not bumbling at this, they're not actively trying to escape from the beginning, they're a hurt person lashing out the only one they're able to/expected to.
