it was clear to everyone that the girl wasn’t really a huge fan of events such as these. even at a young age when she was forced to tag along with her mother to earn some recognition as the daughter of a former royal, she always disliked having to be in a big, poofy dress in comparison to her much casual attire. she hated the idea of having to act proper for show whilst surrounded by billions of people who will do nothing good by just gossiping and whispering about business that wasn’t theirs. in general, the whole getup of a ball was not particularly something she’d be excited for. 

yet, she’s here anyway. not because she wants to, obviously. mainly because she’s kind of obligated to go. sure, there would be familiar faces who would help make the experience less painful than it already is and there would also be drinks that ahyoung would look forward to. but the main reason why ahyoung was here tonight to begin with was because she had to do the bare minimum to impress the queen if she didn’t want to get the crown, yet also want to stay away from her mother as long as possible. 

she stays close to the wall, watching as everyone gets closer to the center or even around it to have fun amongst each other. they would be talking and dancing and doing all sorts of intriguing activities that ahyoung wasn’t sure if she wanted to take part in in hopes of not having to yawn constantly. she wished jun and nabi were here. either one of them would help make the experience less dull for her. 

as she looks around, she spots a familiar face of someone she wasn’t particularly fond of. that being said, despite her disdain for the other, she’d be lying if she said he didn’t look at all remotely attractive at all, let alone all cleaned up for this event. she was aware of how charming the other could be in more ways than one and just looking at him while thinking of that made her blood boil. how foolish of her to have even been seduced by the likes of him. just the thought of it makes her so... 

she should look away. if she stares for too long, he’ll notice and she’d rather him not bother her at all. she instead decides to gulp down the wine in her glass so that she would not have to think at all. if she’s lucky, maybe she’ll be able to have some fun at the party on her own... but that also means she’ll need to leave her comfy spot at the wall to go to the table and get more. pain.
