HC25: CHANGES IN THE POKE/ANI VERSE.

His new adjusted POK/EANI TEAM features ALOLAN RAICHU as his signature pokemon, Decidueye, Brionne, Litten, Butterfree ( & ) Trumbeak.

Unlike canon, my Hau’s Decidueye had already evolved before coming back to Alola so there was NO rivalry between Dartrix ( & ) Rowlet.

INSTEAD, the MAIN RIVALRY was between his PIKACHU ( & ) SATOSHI’S PIKA. Hau’s RAICHU was STILL A PIKACHU when both met Satoshi ( & ) only evolved right before the league.

Hau did meet Satoshi during his training, resulting in two pikachu vs pikachu battles. Hau got the first win ( & ) Satoshi the second one.

They promised each other to battle again someday to break that tie ( *coughs* foreshadowing that league battle ).

Anyways, Hala was the one who gifted Hau that THUNDER STONE so Pikachu could evolve.

He let pikachu decide if he did want to evolve though to everyone’s surprise, the pokemon did not hesitate ( & ) proudly took the gift.

I don’t like how pok/eani managed the alolan league. Honestly, it was rushed, awfully planned ( & ) had no consistency howsoever. It was really . . . meh compared to the previous leagues. So at least for me, this is how things went in my POK/EANI VERSE.

The initial knockouts were 1v1 ( & not that awful everyone vs everyone thing they tried to pull off ).

The official LEAGUE BATTLES were 3V3, following that the trainers needed to defeat the three pokemon of their opponent. The ‘last pokemon standing’ rule applies here too.

In the league battles, Hau managed to win against Oak ( the Alolan variant ) ( & ) vs. Plumeria too.

His battle VS SATOSHI:

Melmetal VS Raichu ➜ Raichu wins.

Rowlet VS Trumbeak  ➜ BOTH K.O.

Hau never mentioned Satoshi about it but he caught a Pikipek ( that later on evolved into a Trumbeak ) later on during his training.

( & ) it turns out, that such Trumbeak was one of Rowlet’s brothers ! ! !  Sooo *insert here an epic flashback as the plot gives Rowlet some development*

The fight ends with TRUMBEAK FAINTING FIRST, followed by Rowlet doing that Dartrix *hair thingy before faiting too.

Pikachu VS Raichu ➜ Pikachu wins, Satoshi goes to the next round.

Just imagine a badass animated Pikachu VS Alolan Raichu scene.

The emotional “LET’S GO PIKACHU” with their respective Z MOVES.

*the protag power appears ( & ) Satoshi wins. But the real winner here is me because at the end all of Hau’s pokemon come out of their pokeball to do a big GROUP HUG.

If Satoshi ends up being the champion or not, that’s up to you.

* I WANT TO CLARIFY that I’m not trying to force my HCS into anyone. By fault, I will be using my own interpretation of the Alola league in threads or any starters situated in the poke/ani side verse. If this bothers you, please notify me beforehand so we can come to an AGREEMENT because I sure refuse to accept the canon Satoshi VS Hau battle, xoxo.

           ⬆️ Has NO ALCOHOL TOLERANCE. To begin with, Hau does not even LIKE ALCOHOL ! How did he GET HERE ?!

ALOLAN / HAWAIIAN ( mother tongue ). Despite the fact that nowdays hawaiian is only used between natives ( & ) locals, with Hala being the traditional parent he is, he refuses to let the new generations forget their roots ( especially those who are members from his family ). Iki Town relies heavily on it, all residents communicate through hawaiian ( & ) they will only shift their dialect to english when tourists are around.

SIGN LANGUAGE. All pokemon rivals know sign language by default, in this essay I will-

ENGLISH ( second language, fluent ).

SPANISH. ( rusty but he still knows the basics, can hold a short conversation ).

JAPANESE. ( a bit broken / conversational but with heavy mistakes ). learning through experience, blame the tourists.

HC24: A FAN CLUB ?

( KAHUNA VERSE / SUMO TIMELINE ). YEP, Hau gets a FANBASE just as he gets the KAHUNA POSITION. It’s no wonder considering that the man grew up to be a strong, handsome, ( & ) kind person ! Always ATTENTIVE to Melemele’s needs. What surprised everyone, however, was the roots of this group as almost all of it’s members were originally from ILIMA’S now dissolved fan club. The new KAHUNA stole Ilima’s SPOTLIGHT in a couple of weeks after being chosen by Tapu Koko ( & ) yet, he wishes they hadn’t exactly changed Ilima for him.

Truth to be told, Hau feels a bit OVERWHELMED by it but thankful at the same time. Although the Kahuna is GRATEFUL for the support, he’s not used to be the center of attention ( & ) in a more important note: Hau hates the stalking attitude some of them have taken.

There has been special occasions where they had stolen his iconic yellow coat, a piece of cloth EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR HAU (& one that he only entrusts to those CLOSE TO HIM), as a way to draw his attention. But the cherry at the top of the cake is the FAKE EMERGENCY CALLS some of them have done for random meet ups.

Pretending to be in danger just so Hau could either “save them” or pay them a visit. This is the type of examples that makes him wish he hadn’t exactly gotten this new type of attention, honestly, he DEEPLY HATES IT. Not only do they WASTE his precious time with false alarms but also puts BOTH PARTIES IN DANGER. Playing around with emergencies only causes him to get PRETTY MAD in a time record. 

Aside from those bad apples, Hau treats them with dear respect ( & ) never fails to do his job as a kahuna ( & ) LISTEN TO HIS PEOPLE, protect them even if they do him wrong or try to steal a coat that is considered the MOST VALUABLE THING Hala left him.

ALSO: It’s important to mention that this “fan club” isn’t exactly a HUGE ONE like the ones from Galar. Imagine something similar to the one we see in the anime,a group of local random girls from melemele:

I see the gender test around the dash so it’s time to inform ( more like remind ) everyone that Hau doesn’t really care about GENDER NORMS. 

He PREFERS dresses over suits ( & ) actively wears them given the occasion. The french translation of (U)SUMO has Hau mentioning how he would accept wearing something like Lillie’s dress if it was more his style. 

Hau loves CONTESTS. Thanks to Masters, it has been actually confirmed that Hau does watch them ( & ) knows about Lisia’s performances. I bet he would like to participate in one too if the opportunity comes.

Hau ( & ) Primarina are perfect together, best duo ( & ) as I see it, the best starter for Hau regarding his hobbies ( & ) personality. They sing, dance, ( & ) swim together ! The “Primarina is too feminine for Hau” argument is shit.

I mean, LOOK AT HIM, Hau looks GNC AF.

I want to talk more about Hau’s psychic type pokemon that you can meet on his KAHUNA VERSE so here is a MASTER POST of what you need to know ( & ) general HCS I have:

Hau has two set of teams.

TEAM 1: Has no specific type rule, the one seen in the games ( & ) in the main verse. They are still commonly used for kahuna missions ( & ) non official league battles. ( Raichu, Primarina, Komala, Noivern, and, Crabominable ).

TEAM 2: Made up out of PSYCHIC TYPES. They are used only for his TRIALS ( & ) ELITE FOUR BATTLES. Normally you can come across them in IKI TOWN because Hau likes to let them be free around his hometown while he’s elsewhere. ( Raichu, Espeon, Malamar, Oranguru, Slowking, Medicham ).

About his pokemon.

STUFFIE, Hala’s BEWEAR, retires from battling just like the old kahuna. Hala decides to leave her in Hau’s care ( & ) becomes a rightful house nanny. Not only does she protect Hau’s home but also cleans it if the man is too busy to do so. 

If you knock on the door, there’s a 70% chance that the Bewear will open the door ( & ) receive you instead of Hau. Plus if the kahuna is out, she will certainly hand you a sign that says “Be back in 5 minutes or in an hour... two... three maybe, sorry 🌺 !”

Sadly, his FLAREON passed away in one of his first KAHUNA MISSIONS when he was barely starting. He doesn’t like to talk about it ( & ) blames himself for it. That’s why he has promised himself to put his POKEMON FIRST over any exponential danger ( & ) if he had to choose between being the one hurt or his pokemon, he would always go for himself. 

Talking about EEVEELUTIONS, Hau’s ESPEON is actually his flareon’s DAUGHTER. I hc that his flareon “ACCIDENTALLY” mated with the protag’s EEVEELUTION or Gladion’s UMBREON.

HIS SLOWKING IS A MENACE TO SOCIETY. Makes random objects float to scare kids or steals food too with such powers. One time at 3 AM, he levitated the fridge to open it up and eat everything in it as if there wasn’t a DAMN HANDLE.

His MEDICHAM can mega evolve. Medicham is a clear reference to Hala because FIGHTING/PSYCHIC TYPE.

He can talk with his pokemon, especially with his PSYCHIC TYPES. They talk to him telepathically ( & ) he replies as if it were any other person. So you may think Hau’s talking out loud with himself but he’s just talking with his pokemon.

Yes, he has more than 20 ALOLAN RAICHUS. Only two of them were actually caught, the rest just follows him around so everyone assumes he’s their trainer. Though he has only two, he has nicknamed every single one of them. A FAMILY CAN BE OF A MAN ( & ) HIS TWENTY-SOMETHING RAICHUS !

HC23: AN EMPATH.

HAU’S AN EMPATH: A pokemon trainer that has a strong connection with pokemon ( specially PSYCHIC TYPES ), this type of trainers have the ability of intuitively recognize what their REAL FEELINGS are alongside being able to COMMUNICATE with them easily, it is said that some empaths are able to read the mind of pokemon, hear their thoughts.

In this case, Hau’s a beginner when it comes to UNDERSTANDING this concept of being an empath. He doesn’t know he’s one up until he’s 19 YEARS OLD really. Since he was a child Hau knew he had a special connection with POKEMON, deeper than what any other trainer surrounding him. As if he could get how they exactly felt, a mysterious connection though he never really read their minds or anything like that as a teenager but it came to be natural for him.

( & ) for a time he THINKS everyone’s has this ability, that every trainer is able to feel the real emotions of their pokemon ( & ) understand their pain, sorrow, happpiness, etc. As if this was something ORDINARY IN EVERYONE. However, little by little, with the adventures he lived through ( & ) the CRUEL REALITY he perceived, he got to discover that this was a “SPECIAL ABILITY OF HIS”, maybe a talent.

Right now ( in the main verse ) he can only sense a pokemon's true feelings. Sort of like what those fan club guys tells you if your pokemon loves you or not ( & ) what you can do to make them feel better, he can sense it by simply looking at a pokemon.

EXAMPLE: If he saw ghetsis' hydreigon with only a glance he would be able to tell how miserable it is, even if the pokemon pretended to be alright.

On the other hand, when he’s 19, this power turns out to be more than he expected. He’s able to trigger a pokemon’s MEMORIES by simply touching it. See it as if his mind projected a special memory of said pokemon, like a brief movie, a rewind of what happened in a certain moment that created a strong emotion or left a big mark on the pokemon.

Because of his clueless self on the empath experience, he does it randomly, without meaning it, making him FINALLY discover that he’s, indeed, an EMPATH AFTER ALL.

At some point too, he gets the ability of telepathy, ONLY with his psychic type pokemon though, as the strong bond between his partners ( & ) him makes it easy to do so.

Such fact, settles it for him to present himself as a PSYCHIC TYPE KAHUNA, to understand more ( & ) more this ability of his alongside his partners. Plus, Alola was missing a PSYCHIC TYPE EXPERT, right ? Someone had to take that position sooner or later ( & ) Raichu couldn’t agree more !!
