          a soft smile touched upon her lips as she moved once more to sit down across from the queen. she knew that most likely daenerys did not UNDERSTAND what it meant to her to serve someone who 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐘 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄  ━━ a ruler who wanted to make changes for this world around them and for the BETTER. she had seen sovereigns who had gone to war for the benefit of themselves and for their legacy, but the young queen who sat before her wanted to 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐒.

        ❝  i have... always wanted to make a DIFFERENCE in this world. to bring 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐌 and serve with honor.  ❞    she paused, trying to find the right way to explain how she felt. ❝  when i served as a general before, i felt VERY lost. for i fought to protect the young girls of our nation, but never really could bring change for we were constantly in a war that was not needed.  ❞ shifting herself, her dark eyes rose to meet her own, ❝  when i first met you, i was unsure. not because you are a woman, but because i am not very FIMILAR with the customs of these lands.  ❞

          leaning forward, she broke the rigidness of body, leaning upon the table. ❝  but to me, you have become a valued friend 𝐈 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐓. i want to help you achieve your dreams. i want to make changes by your SIDE. i am grateful to be a member of your queens guard. i am grateful you already think so highly of me. ❞

          daenerys targaryen was a strange queen, but one of which she held a deep respect for. she did not need a man to rule by her side, nor did she need to learn how to fight with a sword in order to succeed. instead, she promised a freedom and brought it forth through the power of her will and aid of her dragons  ━━ a feat in which she admired. yet throughout it all, she had a kind heart and a soul of a dragon. she cared for her people and for the freedom of those who had long since been forgotten. she strived for a better world, one of which she was determined to create even if it left whispers upon the tongues of her enemies.

          it made her proud of her decision to come and join her ranks, to serve the people and bring peace to a world filled with chaos and pain.     ❝  your words bring warmth to my heart. i am glad that we have met, for this is the first time in so long that i felt as if i had a purpose.  ❞    she nodded, a small smile given to the queen as her eyes sparkled slightly,     ❝  truthfully, i started my journey just wishing to save my father and since i have been both blessed as well as cursed.  ❞    she paused within her confession a small breath taken before released,     ❝  i long to give the children of tomorrow a safer world then what we grew in.  ❞   

          mulan's smile brightened as her friend reached her hand across the table, fingers coming to rest upon her arm. she was glad that she could be seen as more then just a knight, for it meant that the two of them could talk more freely and that she could provide more then just a blade.     ❝  thank you, i am glad we can see each other in such a warm light. i look forward to the changes that we can bring together, but also ━━ i am proud to call you a friend. i am here to talk if you ever need it, and i will offer any advice that i can. but i hope too that i may ask you questions as well, beyond that of a queen and knight ?  ❞   

Mulan was a curious creature to Daenerys with the way she had such rigid views of honor and yet also was so soft like a flower. It was something that she hoped someone saw within herself too that sense of justice, but still a girl soft as a flower petal on the inside of that hardened shell. The queen had gone through much in her life to create the shell that everyone got to see, but only few got to see below the mask that she wore. The woman before her had become one of those that she trusted in such a way and to have her desire to serve her was an honor.

It was an understandable concern that Mulan had since she was from another land coming to Daenerys the customs were much different. She had been accommodating the best she could be and tried to teach the proper ways especially for once they got to Westeros. "You have done well here with adapting to the customs, Mulan. There is no reason to fear being lost like that again either. You know the path that we are on and what it is that I strive to complete. Together we will change the world."

She reached across the table and put a hand on Mulan's arm smiling warmly at her. It was true that she thought of the other woman as friend first before knight and she was glad to call her such. "You have proven yourself to be both a great friend and excellent warrior. I am lucky to have someone such as you by my side protecting me and being my friend." Truly she couldn't think of a better candidate for her queens guard.

        ❝  ... it is a lonely path one must walk, but from what i see, i believe that it has helped us to grow stronger. neither of us would be here today without trying to find our own way and i am grateful that my path has lead me to you.  ❞    she smiled, for her words were true. each step she had taken. each battle she had fought, had lead her here to serve a brighter cause and bow to a Queen who had the heart of a dragon.     ❝  i apologies if it seems i am repeating myself, i am just overjoyed right now. for long, i have been told that woman should only have one path, that of bearing sons and taking care of the home while the men go off to war. but, we are proof that it is not true and that alone brings hope for tomorrow.  ❞

          Mulan paused as she took in a breath, her smile faltering as she hesitated.       ❝  we are both of fire, are we not ? it courses through our veins. with the fire, it is both a blessing and a curse, for we run hot and our Core is strong. but, with fire, there is sometimes a fault... a wild flame that is not so easily tamed.... it can cost a great deal...  ❞    she shifted a little, biting down on her lower lip for a moment as she wondered just how much she should say. after a few moments, she decided it was best not to have secrets from her Queen, and so she shifted in her seat for better comfort.

        ❝  ... i have been told that i have been born under a cloud of misfortune. my mother... she died in childbirth with me... and since then, death surrounds me... as i grew, so too did my vision to see the Spirits of those who passed and through it, i was given the name of Ghost Girl, by children in my village who feared. it was through these means, my Bàba trained me, so that i did not bring dishonor to my family... though he never expected that i would later steal his armor and take his place in war...  ❞   

          she paused once more before shaking her head to clear the past from her mind and instead focus on the present.     ❝  i will lean on you and ask you questions as freely as you let me. though do not fret, i will make sure to ask only when its appropriate...  ❞    the young warrior's look became a bit more serious, as this matter was important to her.     ❝  i would like to request a certain privilege while under your command... with my previous Emperor... i earned the right to approve or refuse of marriage as i saw fit. i wanted to ask if i may ask the same with you. i know it is a right that many do not have, but i am a firm believer of marriage for love and i do not wish to marry unless it is mutually felt between myself and should the gods see fit to it, my future spouse. i should warn you, this right did cause me problems back within my homeland... as i refused the Third Prince, a few times, which cause his anger to stir... but, it is something that is important to me and i wonder... if it is something you can grant for me ?  ❞

How long had Daenerys been wondering what her own purpose was? For the longest time she thought her purpose was to marry her brother to continue the family line, but that changed. Then she thought it was to ensure Drogo gave Viserys that army that was paid for with her maidenhead and even that turned to ashes in her hands. Now her purpose was to be a good queen to be a force in the word that others could be proud to follow. She felt at times that she struggled with what is right and what felt like Viserys whispering in her ear, but she knew what she wanted to do. "I am glad that I could help give you a purpose. We both know how it feels to not have one."

There was a pause as she registered that Mulan was confessing about a curse also and she looked at her curiously. "Blessed and cursed?" If they were both sharing information about one another in this moment then she wanted to know more about that. She herself had been cursed so in a way she could related to that sentiment of Mulan's. "With what we are doing though... Hopefully those children will have that safer tomorrow or we will die trying to give it to them."

The look that Daenerys gave Mulan when it came to her asking her questions that a friend would ask another suggested she was open to it. "Of course you can. I meant it when I called you my friend and it would be unfair of me to lean on you without you also being able to lean on me." She tilted her head in concern trying to decide if this question was because Mulan had something to ask of her. "Is something troubling you?"
