    elijah briefly unwraps his fingers from their grasp around the limp leg he's been dragging to gesture wildly at the unmoving man crumpled on the floor between them. a long, vivid smear of blood highlights the trail he's taken as he goes, and he can't help the inward cringe at how much work it's going to take to scrub every speck of that from between the tiles.

    he recognises kiran — he'd be a fool not to. he could obfuscate and say it's because of his music career, but truth be told, elijah's never been one for denial. it's not like his father makes a habit of telling him much of anything important, but he'd like to think he's made a token effort to at least put names and faces to the more relevant members of the mancinnis' rivals.

    besides, he's not sure there's a use in pretending while there's a bloodied man crumpled on the ground between them, hand clutching cracked ribs courtesy of elijah's steel - toed boot.

    he can't say this is the result he'd hoped for from this little outing. it's a shame the guy'd elected to go about things the hard way rather than cooperating, but so it goes. point being — he hadn't expected to have a traitorous shit's gun at his head one moment, and the next to summon the de facto leader of another family out of thin air to knock the guy on his ass for him.

    question is, does kiran recognise him ? odds are fifty - fifty. not one to advertise his heir proudly, his father.

    he should probably acknowledge him. he's been temporarily distracted from showing any gratitude by taking his annoyance out on the groaning heap on the floor.

    he doesn't look at him, though he's wary enough to keep him in his peripheral vision and a healthy distance between them. he may not always feel fully cut out for this whole line of work, but he's not an idiot.

but he needs the money. his pride puts up a good fight, but it doesn’t win out over necessity, not this time. he bites his tongue, at least for the most part, keeps the brunt of his spite locked behind gritted teeth — but he’s sure the crossed arms and scowl convey the sentiment just fine.
