au where aang isn't frozen for 100 years and sozin's/ozai's (?) comet doesn't come until aang is 13 so even tho he runs away , gyatso finds him and brings him back. we still have a frantic 1 year avatar training speed run with the gaang ( same gaang. we're time bending ) , but afterwards he gets to bring everyone back to the air temples to hang out and have some very well deserved fun.

thinking about how much aang loves being able to actually be there for korra in my lok 1 verse. he can teach her the bending arts , help her master the avatar state , prepare her for the variety of complicated situations the avatar faces. but there are also a lot of things he won't do. he won't solve her problems for her , won't fight her battles except in truly dire circumstances. bc he's not the avatar anymore. korra is. and aang will be the first person to remind the world of that.

some plot ideas with aang for your plotting pleasure/convenience. these range from vague concepts to actual ideas. if you see one you want to try , jump in my dms and shout at me about it

more terribly outdated language and mannerisms from aang’s youth.  ‘ flameo, hotman ! ’  is just the tip of the iceberg   ( no pun intended ).

finding people descended from air nomads that hid out in the other nations.  maybe they know their heritage, maybe they don’t.  but aang is definitely going to teach them everything he can about air nomads and airbending.

how to survive in the wild 101 with avatar aang.  topics include foraging for food ,  cooking over a fire  ( vegetarian style ) ,  best places to make camp ,  and how to care for your flying bison on long journeys.  ( bc this boy absolutely took care of everyone while they were traveling.   ‘ sokka, no !   that’s poisonous.  oooh, it’s gonna be a rough night for you, buddy. ’  )

aang as the physical embodiment of love and acceptance.  made a terrible mistake ?  feel terribly out of place in society ?   aang will accept you 100%.  this is barely even a plot tbh.  it’s just his personality,  but shhh.  go with it.

helping someone work through a fear of heights  ( or the ocean or caves or fire, whatever element related thing you want )  in the gentlest, most supportive way humanly possible.  ‘ i promise nothing bad will happen.  i got you ’

all the handicrafts.  making flower crowns,  crafting jewelry  ( carved wood, braided fabric, etc ) , spinning yarn  ( sky bison fur is exceptionally soft ) , he’s not the greatest at sewing , but he’s excellent at knitting.

two words :   disney princesses.   he would absolutely adore them.

someone come dance with this boy.  goofy idc what i look like it’s fun dancing ,  dancing that’s based on sparring movements , teaching people historical dances ,  learning others’ local dances.  aang loves to dance. he just needs a partner.

undercover in the fire nation plots or the earth kingdom or the water tribes! idk where. just give me undercover aang plots where he gets to be a normal kid for a change. the question is ... is your muse blindsided by finding out he's the avatar ? or are they like 'yeah, somehow that checks out. he was a little weird' ?

this one has a little more specific audience , but training / fighting with the kyoshi warriors. the little airbending we see him do with fans? beautiful. i live for little things like that connecting aang to his past lives. heck ! let the ladies teach him about kyoshi while we're at it. he'd love it.
