no, you cannot fix Blade. You can certainly allow him to exist as is but he will never be that super affectionate not complex untraumatized husbando. however, he will love you endlessly. in this essay i will -

Last i'll say on it.

Y.ingxing was, in my opinion, very easy to sway. He was passionate and human and humans aren't exactly the most rational species on the planet. Whether it was Sh.uhu or Dan F.eng, it doesn't matter. Yin.gxing would have absolutely have been easy to sway regardless if it meant that it would bring Ba.ihe.ng back, as I feel he would have felt it was unfair for her to go before him as she was his family. I have consistently felt that Bladie is a take on the hubris of arrogance and how his arrogance and folly would have been a huge factor in what he became now. Regardless, he has done some bad things (stalking, etc) and while it is because of his only real memories being of that man, it's not for romantic reasons. He is MAD.

As a human, especially one who would have taken the idea of being a short-life species and decidedly been happy with ending their life, you wouldn't have wanted to become immortal. He had his faculties taken from him, essentially. He did NOT get to pick on becoming immortal due to whatever factors you want to consider. He was a human who just wanted his sister back, who at any possibility, would have wanted to have her back just so that he wouldn't have to die after her.

I personally believe that D.an Fe.ng saw that weakness in him and used it as a means to an end, and for that Y.ing.xing lost his life. It wasn't some Romantic Gesture, he was genuinely manipulated. So yeah, Blade has some issues because he feels he can get revenge for the fact that he was fucked with but Ji.ng.liu wasn't helpful either with messing with him as well.

Tl;dr the HCQ is heavily fucked and the only one who came out of that truly unscathed was Ji.ng Yua.n.

Broke: the high c.loud quintet was broken. Woke: Dan Fe.ng and Yin.gxi.ng ruined things. Bespoke: No one is truly in the right, but everyone was definitely guilty of something. Da.n Fe.ng for practicing dark arts, Y.in.gxi.ng for blindly following and losing his life for it, Ji.ngli.u for taking her anger out on Blade and succumbing to mara, Jin.g Y.uan for turning a blind eye when there were probably signs.

Blade even acknowledges the fact that:

"the eyes that belonged to the high elder were cruel"

"J.ing.yuan always knew and did nothing."

Ba.ihen.g was an innocent bystander who did a selfless thing, but this would have happened eventually, whether it was when Y.ing.xing did ultimately die or when someone else might succumb to mara. This was a thing that was going to happen regardless and the quintet was fucked from the start.

and the thing too is that, yes, stalking your ex isn't the right thing at all, but Blade also didn't know what the fuck was going on and seems to have simply been following the only things he could remember, whether it was beat out of him by J.ing.liu or a natural memory.

He even acknowledges in his story part 4 that he gets Ka.fka, because "someone must have not listened to her before."

tl;dr Bladie is SO much more than just a big Scary Wet Cat Demon Man, he is incredibly complex and the result of major and destructive trauma that was unavoidable the moment he joined up with HCQ. HCQ ultimately tried to be like Icarus and got way too close to the sun, and instead of letting him die, Da.n Fe.ng fucked him up with the flesh of S.hu.hu.

tl;dr again: Blade is a result of hubris and is one of the more innocent members who got fucked up and that's saying a lot.

On Y.ingxin.g vs Blade & Trauma

I've often said that I believe a few things about this man. While I can say that he was a romantic, I believe he had hope. He wasn't ultimately searching for that PERSON, but he was very warm and easy to be around. He would have been well-liked in the forge and from what we've at least seen of him, he got along well enough with HCQ to hang out with them and fight battles for awhile. He was arrogant, warm, and just like any artistic young man who knew he had a talent. I though personally believe he was very easy to read. His heart was on his sleeve, and even if DF was cruel, I feel he would have at least attempted to look past that to keep things together in HCQ because while he was all i've spoken above, he was a Good Friend. He trusted them to have his back like he had theirs. To me it makes a LOT of sense as to why even if he had gotten past BH's death, any snippet of thought of even slightly having someone back and promises to do so, however empty, he would have jumped for it. He would have wanted to unite them again, his found family, and that is his own folly for trying to fly too close to the sun. So when he ultimately became Blade in what we know now, not only is his issues due to grief, but also trauma. When you think about it, everything that he experienced was turned against him; the people he loved, the ideas, the promises. He would probably see that as betrayal. So it makes sense as to why he acts the way he does, as it's a defense mechanism. So yes, he does hate DH. He does very much dislike JL. I feel he feels less angry with JY, especially since in his voice lines he even says that 'jy knew the whole time and did nothing'. Sure, there is some feelings there, but in the scheme of 'who's the most guilty' he sees himself, jl, and dh as the ones who still need to atone, and his atonement will inevitably be his death. or so he hopes. tl;dr blade is a very complex character and i hate when people reduce him to 'just the furnace master' or anything that makes him less of a beautifully complex individual.
