he enjoys finding ways around paperwork. like a game, he finds an innocent bystander who will get duped into doing his work .

he’s actually awkward with compliments. he’s smooth though so he bounces back rather easily.

'interesting' is certainly one way of phrasing it. perhaps his way of downplaying the reality of the situation , convincing himself nothing is wrong. but they see what most others do not.
