⠀‖⠀a weird quirk I find kind of charming with hisao is—⠀yeah, he is an old man and would understandably be seen as frail, but like . . .⠀he kinda gets into the occasional danger he doesn't really mind.⠀especially for research endeavors;⠀a vicious pokémon nearby or abandoned ruins nobody should be going into?⠀as long as he's potentially gonna find out something new, man's happy as a clam, and he somehow tends to come out of them relatively untouched anyway.

⠀I'm probably the opposite of vague compared to my last iteration of him, but if you're picking up on hints that hisao is connected to giratina—⠀congrats!⠀such is his whole deal.⠀hisao is giratina.

⠀to preface this—⠀my personal canon is that giratina is not an antagonist, even if the larger fandom does love saying it's poke - satan.⠀if you want poke - satan of the Nova Variety look no further than the blinding one, a literal fallen angel on the path of taking down arceus for probably felling him.

⠀anyways.

⠀why giratina is on earth as a human is a kind of long story.⠀they initially did despise the world opposite of its own, but it was out of a deep sense of longing.⠀post - events of legends : arceus they're well aware that this world is going nowhere, and they've come to . . .⠀love it, actually.

⠀giratina's spent eons only able to watch the world grow and prosper from its own empty plane.⠀from a bare little rock to a place billions of creatures of all kinds call home;⠀stories of lives they'd watch from start to finish filled with hope, happiness, loss, grief, humanity;⠀little towns developing into major cities, mountains eroding to hills.⠀they had none of this in their own empty, unstable, emotionless realm.

⠀they still hold their grievances with the creation trio, but it's been an uneasy peace for centuries, and they're not yet aware of his presence anyway.⠀and, after only watching for so long, they found a way to finally become a small part of the world it loved.⠀thus came hisao.

⠀nobody bats an eye at a sweet old man that doesn't seem to age, anyway.⠀with an endless amount of time at his disposal, he's dedicating his life to learning absolutely everything about the world, experiencing everything it has to offer, and hoping he can share what he finds with others.⠀its history, its species, its languages—⠀the things new and the things so ancient nobody but him would know it anyways.⠀call him a nerd, you're not wrong.

⠀still, it's not an easy secret to keep.⠀he just wants to live a life of peace, to keep the world he so treasures safe, but he's dreading another cyrus or volo happening.⠀dropping the act is something he's not looking forward to.
