Actually before I sleep some of my new favorite Kaku headcanons:

-He's afraid of the dark. He sleeps with a nightlight or some form of light in his room [ curtains open for the moon, door left open for a hallway light, etc. ]

-He misses Water 7. A lot. He spent five years there- since he was eighteen! His first big mission was Water 7! And it was home, to him. He misses his apartment and the sweet old lady who lived below him who would give him fresh bread in the mornings. He misses working on the ships the most. God, he loved that. It was fun, and learning the trade had been a blast! He... He misses it a lot. He sort of would like to go back, but he knows that will never happen. This is his life, now.

He just. Has to accept that! That's all.

-Jabra is someone he looks up to a LOT. Jabra essentially took him under his wing when Kaku was little!

-He doesn't remember his family. He knows they had a farm, but he doesn't remember what his parents looked like, or if he had siblings. [ The farm no longer exists, sitting abandoned for twenty two years now, the main house burned down. The family has been missing ever since. ]

-He likes smelling nice.

-He's lowkey very possessive. And obsessive.

Bc I still don't have the free time to sit down at my computer to work on responses, headcanon time. This time, my version of Sanji.

-Uses y'all way too much. Also ain't. Double negatives.

-Flowery French, but also calling Zoro a gros couillion ( crazy fool ) or a contraieuse ( hard headed ) Uses Mon Vielle ( my lady ) for older women, Mon vieux ( My man ) for older men. Ace ( post timeskip, in verses in which Marineford is canon ) becomes Defunt Ace ( Dead Ace ) ( also used to refer to any deceased individual: Defunt )

-Take the southern accent you're imagining and toss it aside. It's not a drawl. Closest I can use to describe it Gambit, or Cajun Dan.

-Shrimp / Crawfish Étouffée is a comfort meal for him. Hushpuppies with a bit of a kick to them? Yes. BOILS, OH MAN. Especially crab boils with baby corn and those mini whole potatoes? Makes them for the whole crew. Gumbo, jambalaya...

-His accent unfortunately gets corrected during Whole Cake Island. He's forced to speak "right" [ proper French, forcing the accent down, makes him sound like a completely different person. ] He complains that proper speaking feels wrong in his mouth.

-Accent comes back during Wano, starts slipping back in but it isn't as strong as before. He does revert back to Cajun phrasing, however.

Portrayal Notes: Penguin & Shachi

The main key point of interest being: what the fuck are they? WELL. Good question. Shachi's half fishman, and due to this, has a subtle dorsal fin that protrudes from his spine. However, this isn't all. Shachi's teeth are sharpened, though not to the point of Penguin's own, and his eyes are akin to that of a killer whale's (like the eyes in the second artwork for that link) these are the eyes of a killer, bella. It's why he wears the sunglasses; bright light hurts his eyes.

Penguin, on the other hand, has thinner irises, resulting in more of a "slit" look ( think how some birds' eyes look ), sharper teeth akin to that of a penguin ( or geese, lmao ), as well as subtle vitiligo, and webbing between his toes. These are all genetic traits from his family, and were passed down to him from his mother's side- being that his mother was a Selkie. He, himself, is also a Selkie. ( yes yes i know kanon selkies are seals!! but you know what i say to that??? selkies can be anything if you dream big enough. Also the irony of him being a Selkie while being named Penguin- ).

Actually I'm gonna ramble about which of my muses would be Gods.

Gods: Luffy, Nami, Kidd, Iceberg, Blueno, Lucci, Shanks, Benn ( gifted Godhood by Shanks ), Mihawk, Crocodile, Shakky, Rayleigh, Cobra

Demigods: Sanji, Kaku, Kalifa, Ikkaku, Vivi

Humans: Izou, Paulie, Wire, Portgas Rouge ( Fell for a God, Roger. ), Boa ( High Priestess ), Thatch, Killer

Spirits: Shachi = Nøkk ( Artic Variant), Penguin = Selkie, Smoker = Fae?? Maybe?? To be decided, Heat = Nøkk ( Desert Variant ) + their pup Dive

Fujihara Family would be a group of demigods, I think. MAYBE a few humans? Certainly snake themed, regardless. Ayame would be based around Fuwa; Mizuki would be based around Xiangliu. Suma may be the only Demigod?

Vasille, God of Death [ not the Dead, not Hades. Death, akin to Thanatos. ]

Astoria: literally still a Wyvern.

Eustass is dyslexic. It's something he's very well aware of, something he's struggled with since he was old enough to read. Couple it with not having had a proper education as a child, Eustass Kidd doesn't know how to read. Numbers, he understands. He can make sense of them, sometimes.

So his crew reads for him.

Heat has taught Dive how to read and write; Dive likes to tease Eustass about him not being able to read until he scoops her up and hangs her upside down by her legs while she screams and squeals and giggles so hard she feels sick.

Killer reads for Eustass most of the time. Wire handles their logs and anything Eustass needs written. Heat handles most of the finances.

And Eustass is forever thankful and grateful for them. He doesn't know how he would have gotten this far if it wasn't for his crew.

The fun thing abt roleplay is saying fuck u to canon.

My iteration of Sanji has a ridiculous Cajun accent. And the reason being is that the first Zeff I interacted with was portrayed as being Cajun, and therefore, little baby Sanji picked up that rough accent and dialect & has kept it all these years.

So while he does use French-

The rest of his speech is Cajun-based. Phrases, accent, shortening of words or Cajun-French.

Get to Know the Muse: Vasille “Necromancer” Albescu

-He picked up Arabic from his Captain, Iris; he, Iris, Orion, and Nemeria often hold conversations amongst one another in Arabic, much to the annoyance and confusion of the rest of the crew.

-Originally, he was supposed to be a Heart Pirates OC before I decided to change it. Vasille has a long history in regards to the medical field ( in most modern verses, he went through medical school, only to be forcibly flunked out due to his ability of raising the dead ). But I still love the idea of him & Law at least knowing one another; the Surgeon of Death and the Necromancer. ( would it have been wickedly cool to see Vas as a Heart Pirates member?? Yes. Maybe it’ll become an AU ).

-He originally was going to become a Marine; that had been the dream when he was young, until his eyes were opened to the corruption and weird power imbalance that the Marines played into. That, and he thought Pirate ships looked cooler.

-He still has a good relationship with his father. They converse mostly through letters, with Vasille using a fake alias in order to avoid drawing attention to his father should anyone else get their hands on their letters. They write in their own code, which is based on Cajun French.

-Speaking of, Vasille’s home verse has him being from New Orleans & having a distinct Cajun undertone to the way he speaks, which carries over to this verse.

-As of the end of the Timeskip, Vasille has died. Which is shocking, I know. Even more shocking is the fact that Nemeria broke some very important big rules and quite literally brought Vasille back to life. For the next month, he was VERY much not himself; sharper, more sarcastic, jumpy, and very confused. ( Fun fact: this exact event happens in every single verse in which Nemeria exists. It’s their tied canon event. )

-I originally thought about the idea of Vas and Basil being friends, but the idea of them having this ridiculous beef over who reads Tarot cards better is something I simply couldn’t pass up. That, and they look scarily alike, it’s hilarious.

-Vasille is the oldest OC on all 3 of my blogs here. I’ve had him for almost seven years; he’s evolved a lot over the years, but one thing has always been the same: he will always be a necromancer in some form or fashion.

Heat is Dive's father.

It hadn't started out that way, not at all. When Dive was born, Heat was there- for their sister, Ash. Ash's partner had skipped out, left the city ( later to be found and beat to death by Heat themself but that's a story for another time- ) Ash had a rough pregnancy with Dive, had struggled with her morning sickness, which turned into day sickness, and night sickness...

Ash passed away shortly after giving birth. Which left Heat as the only living relative. Heat had no issue whatsoever with taking on being a parent; they were barely eighteen at the time, but it was something that was necessary. Dive was just a wee babe, she didn't ask for this.

And so, Heat became a father, and a mother, to wee little Dive. Dive refers to them as her Da, but also sometimes her Mam, it doesn't really matter. But when she says either of those words, Heat comes running.

Heat's been a parent for twelve years. And Dive has been alongside them for each milestone. It was non-negotiable about Dive coming with them when they joined Eustass' crew. If Eustass wanted them, he had to also accept Dive.

Turns out it was good. Dive is a feral kid with razor teeth and a knack for biting ankles.

Vasille meeting the Straw Hats is such a fun concept. He knows about Robin- hard not to, really. And Robin knows about him- the Dead-Dead fruit has always been a curious one.

But more interesting? His reaction to meeting Monkey D. Luffy.

Vasille was ten when Roger was executed. Vasille had MET the Roger Pirates 3 years prior, when they had stopped at his island to restock and wait out a storm. Had gotten the chance to listen to their stories in a tavern.

And seeing Luffy makes him pause. The way he laughs- head tilted back, lips spread wide in a grin. How excited he gets. How he acts with his crew.

It's like deja vu. He's seen this before, twenty-four years ago. It's like seeing Roger all over again. It steals his breath, makes his heart still in his chest.

Before he grins.

History likes to repeat itself. Maybe this kid will make himself King of the Pirates.

The Tombstone Pirates become allies of the Straw Hats shortly after Fishman Island.

Sanji humming "Aloutte" while he's preparing dinner, singing softly under his breath. It's something he picked up from both his mother, and Zeff- though Zeff was a LOT louder when he sang. Singing while preparing food for the crew that he loves.

Okay actually, yes. He does. Killer, unlike Eustass, is able to actually tan without becoming a lobster within five minutes of laying in the sun. He has visible tan lines from the t-shirts he wears ( farmer's tan hELLO ), but one time.

One time he fell asleep on deck while they were in calm waters.

Woke up. Took off the mask.

Boom.

Little dot tans all over his face.
