Elina knelt a bit, picking up her skirt to fold into her lap as she did to avoid mud getting on the hem so she could be a but more level with Stitch and the now submerged mer. "Good job Stitch." Reaching over she pats the creature's head and he lets out happy churrs, ears falling as he leans into the pats.

"Stitch did good!" He repeats, hopping a little in place as the hand moved. Looking to the mer he adds. "You be ok now!"

A nod of agreement as Elina's own green eyes turn towards the mer as well. "Yes, hopefully that helps." She agrees, head tilting slightly in thought. "Did the storm earlier wash you up onto the land like that?"

As the small, but.. apparently, very might creature was able to scoop them up into its embrace, Gideon couldn't help the fact that their mind scrambled like an egg at this! They had never expected themselves to be carted around so easily!

Once in the water however? they could properly relax and dip themselves fully into the water, splashing their gills to get the moisture all over their poor skin, and focus on scrubbing mud off their tail!!

"Just be careful ok Stitch? Ariel mentioned once that mermaid scales are very sensitive and can scratch off easy which can hurt them." Elina warns getting a small nod from the little blue alien.

"Stitch be careful!" He assures looking back to the mer and holding out his arms a moment. "Stitch carry to water and be careful of scales." Confirming that statement to himself he walks over to the other and looks them over a bit. After a moment his clawed paws very carefully take hold of the mer....and then effortlessly lifts them up off the ground!

As Stitch moves to take the other towards the closest water spot Elina sprints ahead making sure to kick any rocks or other such obstacles out of the way.

Once at the closest pond the little creature slowly lowers the mer into the water before releasing them once they were a safe distance in.

That was certainly not a human, which made things a bit better. And even if reading the lips of the other was hard due to the shape, Gideon could recall that the human had mentioned getting help to bring them back to the water. So slowly, ever so slowly they nodded and relaxed.

....though, how was such a tiny thing meant to help?!

Thankfully it didn't take the ruler too long to find the help she needed and she returned soon enough with a.....fluffy blue creature in tow? It certainly wasn't another human at least, maybe some sort of dog that....walked on two feet?

The creature's big eyes widen a bit more at the sight of the other mer, ears falling as he looks up to Elina then. "Eh, into water?" He asks getting a nod in response.

"Yes, they need to get into the water. I know you don't care for it, but they need it to survive, they don't have a magic amulet like Ariel does to give them legs." Elina explains.

"Oooooo." The little blue creature hums as he steps closer to the stranger. He waves a paw at them before speaking up again, talking as carefully as he could to be better understood by the stranger. "Hi, I'm Stitch, I help you back into water ok?"

More people?! Gideon watched the stranger's lips and worried at their fingers. More people meant more of a chance to be gobbled up, but... perhaps these humans could be trusted? Maybe? his fingers tightened on one another as he gave a slow, careful nod to them. They would have to trust in the humans... for now.
