it is in a forgetting of ills and a rest from sorrow that god sat on his throne ; nine nights that his holy light weaved together a seraphic song that echoed through summon , the garden of eden . . . seasons came round as the months waned down on the earth below and god's song created nine angels , all of one mind , whose hearts set upon song . their spirit free from care , a little way from the topmost peak of heaven's holy warriors . they were not made to fight , but to inspire through the soul — music , art , poetry . it was to her soul that the almighty declared ❛ sing to me of the man , muse , the man of twists and turns driven time and again off course . . . ❜ for as the sands of time trickled down through fates' hourglass , god lost touch with his earthly children . so she did ; the angel's voice carrying her wings through decades of humankind , her song that of her father's instrument . she sang to inspire them to be good , she sang to her father of the tales of man , and she sang to her celestial brothers and sisters as they battled their father's holy wars and after when they rested their wings in heaven . but soon the fates tune intervened ; the chorus changed , a voice drifting into her ears that became the first seeds of doubt — that from her brother cosimo . disobedience dripped from his vigor and suddenly her wings no longer carried her to heaven and home was found in a little place called italy . her spirit embodied that of cosimo's true vessel's younger sister , catalina de' medici , and here she remained for many years , among the human creations of her father , masquerading as one of them . but all songs must come to an end . in recent days , it was her own brethren who called upon her and stole her angelic music — stripping her of her grace , rendering her only human . catalina has not sang since .
