Although his mask was off, she yet refused to remove hers. A long pause followed as she turned away from him, the mask hiding the scowl beneath it.

❝ Kaigen...you’ve always been like this...thinking I am greater than life. Can you not see what’s happened to me? To us? Treating me like the lady I was...saying that she will never fade...you couldn’t be more wrong. ❞  

Her bitter words trailed off as she turned to him now, red eyes almost pleading.

❝ Can you not love me for who I am now? Have I truly become so hideous you must deceive yourself?❞
