“to be honest i don’t hate it.” suwei said looking towards the older female sitting next to her. “and while yes i see the point your making i see it differently.” it was a more positive approach to the required vr filming. “it’s a way for us to connect with our fans. it makes us seem less god-like. where humans like everyone else and for a brief second fans can feel like they know us on a personal level .” in her eyes it brought them down to a level most fans probably didn’t see them on.

“but no matter how you feel about it i hope that you can get through it quickly. from what i know there’s no way to get out of it.” as idols they had to do things they didn’t like. and kami as a senior was well aware of this.

“i can honestly say, i hate doing this.” a small sigh left her mouth and she leaned back in her chair. kami found herself still waiting to record for the vr thing and she found herself wanting to complain. “won’t this make fans even more….” there was a right way to say it, “a tad bit more obsessive?” they already were and she felt like this would only push it.

“my manager told me i had to do it but to put it simply, it’s not something i want to do at all.” even if it wasn’t that obvious already. another sigh left her mouth and she turned to her companion. “how are you feeling about it?”

sweet, sweet summer child. she’d learn soon enough, there wasn’t a reason to force the point on her. “that’s the goal, there are somethings i do enjoy spending my idol time on. i could spend hours with fans.” the only thing she wanted was for it to be in person. 

this vr thing, it was just a bit uncomfortable. which meant she didn’t want to do it at all. and she’d have fun alright, giving everyone a mental middle finger throughout the shoot. “do you have any schedules after this? something fun to look forward too?” that helped her push through at times. 

at the moment suwei was blissfully unaware of the realities of being an idol. she was happy with her career. proud of how far lucid has come. and people could bad mouth the industry all they want and she’d simply ignore them. agree to disagree. “i love interacting with fans. meeting them is always better.”

she was enjoying the shoot but she could accept that some people don’t. there was no point in trying to change her mind. “no.” lucid wasn’t do much that month besides preparing for a comeback. and honestly if they weren’t promoting they were preparing a another comeback. “what about you? do you have something to do after this?”

kami nodded her head, she wasn’t going to rain on the other girl’s parade. even if she didn’t agree with what suwei was saying. at least she was given something to think about. she just couldn’t shake the fact that this would make fans even more obsessives. if they were already considered gods then this wasn’t helping anything. 

“yeah, no way of getting out of it.” she let out another sigh and leaned back against the couch. “i’ve already thought of all of my poses.” that way, she’d be able to walk in with the air of getting things done. “it shouldn’t be too bad, i can buckle down when it comes to work at least.”

suwei was naïve. innocent even. she was still young and still impressionable when it came to what the staff had to say. she hadn’t been in the industry for that long. three years compared to some groups' decade. maybe it was because she was from a less popular group. netizens were always mixed when it came to lucid. their fans are loyal. but obsessed fans have never been a problem for her. in her three years since debuting she’s never had a problem with crazed fans. she also had a hard time believing that a company’s would ever intentionally set their idols up to get hurt.

“that’s good. the faster you get it done the sooner you can leave.” kami seemed like the type of person to get things done. being an idol was a job. and despite hating the task she would do it. “i know you hate it, but at least try to have fun.” there was nothing wrong with enjoying what you do.
