kate hides A LOT of trauma. i think a lot of people think about the 'rich girl' thing (which is valid, kate is spoiled) but forget about just how much trauma she holds deep down. the death of a parent (mother in comics - until she wasn't but we're not talking about that today, and father in the mcu), the assault in the park, the neglect from the parent who was alive who buried themselves in work and ignored their child often because she reminded them of their lost spouse. and i've spoken about this a little more on this blog but, she holds that trauma and decides she's going to protect everyone else, and do EVERYTHING she can to protect everyone else (not her, but everyone else). and this is why i love kate bishop and she makes me emotional.

i loved hawkeye but i HATED that scene where kate just blew people up the same way i hated when kate randomly gets gun happy in the Hawkeye vs Deadpool comic. THIS IS THE GIRL WHO WAS UPSET BUCKY SHOT AIM BOTS. The Avengers Game Kate had a reason to be harsh towards AIM BOTS as she'd been villanised for five years and hunted but, kate in the mcu? no, that's a character choice and while I adore all my MCU compliant Kate's mine feels guilty about having to do that.

the reason kate can be dangerous even tho all she has is a bow and arrow, and sometimes a sword is because she's resourceful. She uses everything around her to try and get an advantage.

okay so I've had this convo a lot with people but for kate, being hawkeye? it's the only good thing about her. It's the one thing she likes, because she can fake how confident she is, but the only time she's felt real purpose is when she's Hawkeye. this is all versions of Kate who are Hawkeye btw. MCU Kate mentions that when she meets Clint, it was like finding out who she was really meant to be. In 616 she doesn't go to college, and continues to be Hawkeye even after the Young Avengers disband, and works with Clint. In my AU it's very similiar to 616 but she's forced into college by the Avengers who kinda recognise the pattern of behaviour. KATE HIDES IT VERY WELL, but the only thing Kate truly loves about herself is being Hawkeye. it gives her purpose and so she can get annoying when people try and stop her from doing the one thing she cares about more than anything.
