can i just talk about hamilton for a sec? specifically your obedient servant? when i tell you that song chills me to my CORE everytime i listen to it, i'm not lying. not only did leslie odom do a PERFECT portrayl of burr throughout the entire show, but i also feel like this is when burr's 'mask' slips and he finally falls into his villian role. this song is MORE than burr just feeling excluded from the cabinet, but feeling as though his life isn't being fulfilled to the extent that he wants it to and he's not doing ENOUGH and there's always someone (hamilton) who is 5 steps ahead of him. (you could also note that he feels he's not being a good enough father for his DAUGHTER) but he also clearly hates the feeling of being insignificant and he doesn't know what to do what to do with it, so when hamilton the person he considers to be one of his closest friends and who he has been there for the WHOLE time chooses thomas instead of him, it shatters his overall self-esteem and pushes his fears of being forgotten even further. and it's also one of the biggest breaking points of hamilton's and burr's relationship. burr has done nothing but be hamilton's supporter and the person he goes to to clear his head. yet, hamilton broke his trust and turned into a person that burr could no longer support because of his morals and the kind of person he was striving to become.

╰ ▻ Emilio’s demeanor is somewhat intimidating. keeps bullies and other hassles away but it makes it hard when he wants to indulge in normal-teen stuff (other than crimes). so after finding the newspaper club, ran after class hours, a quiet safe place away from the immature fucks practically infesting the school, also giving him some time away from his poor excuse of a father.

the ones running the club were pretty chill, only re-formatting local newspapers to post and print, leaving the rest of the period for them to fuck around in the club room. majority were seniors, letting them do as they please for an hour and a half without any supervision… for the most part.

it was a quiet safe place, despite the few other people, he could sit in the corner and pour his thoughts into his journal without any fiter, and without judgement. maybe some cocky fellow senior or two calling him “girly” for his long sidetails and for journaling in his diary, but far less of an annoyance than Carmelo and his skittle squad of suppressed homosexuals.
