kwon jiha always had way more control over how ODYSSEUS operated than fans and even his own members would like to admit. THUNDER is a prime example of this privilege.

in late 2013, dominic would allow for jiha to curate a group with members of his choice, having full creativity to make their concept and produce their music alongside it. many now believe that even though jiha was only twenty at the time, dominic was preparing him for taking over ODYSSEUS when the time came that he could no longer operate it. whether he knew about his impending murder or not is unsure. and through a couple months of sitting through trainee practices and evaluations jiha chose his top trainees. for the first few months, they were referred to simply as “THE JIHA PROJECT”.

the seven members quickly dropped like flies due to a mix of jiha’s high standards, and his inability to help them improve. he was never a sociable person and didn’t actually want to interact with the trainees, just make their music. plus he had his own group and their problems to deal with. so when the members weren’t improving, he just…scrapped them from the lineup. and seven went down to four just like that.

the four remaining members unsurprisingly were very similar to the TITANS members that came before them, likely the reason why jiha chose them. another one of dominic’s sons, elio (mirroring nicholas), the young prodigy trainee, jianwei (mirroring jiha), the overworking perfectionist, hyunsik (mirroring jaehwi), and the former star trainee before the current one came in, haewon (mirroring kihwan). why he didn’t learn his lesson from his own group? we’re unsure. maybe it took him getting the shit beat out of him by nicholas to learn.

when THUNDER (named after the loud music jiha had planned for them) debuted on july 4th, 2014 with their debut full album TRESPASS, jiha was surprised with how well they genuinely got along with each other, especially in comparison to the members of TITANS.

they actually liked each other. they hung out together in their free time, worked on making their music with jiha rather than just leaving it to him. it was…weird.

the group found success blending into their industry counterparts with their loud style, not winning any awards originally, but still holding their ground in popularity to the groups around them, even TITANS.

despite all of their music fitting a certain…stereotype of sorts, they manage to prevent it from sounding like the same noises over and over thanks to the input of members haewon and jianwei.

they’ve made a name for themselves without jiha and ODYSSEUS’ shadow, and opened many fans of TITANS to more loud and experimental music.

WHO ARE TITANS? the train wreck of a group that is known as TITANS debuted under ODYSSEUS LABELS in 2010. a company that at the time only produced actors and models, TITANS made a name for themselves on sheer talent and probably nepotism.

the former ceo hadn’t put thought into compatibility when forming the group, instead just picking his favorite set of trainees, plus nicholas, and crossing his fingers and toes that it would work out.

consisting of the ceo’s favorite trainee jiha, his former favorite trainee kihwan, his actual son nicholas, and seokhwan and jaehwi, the two most hardworking trainees you’d probably ever seen, i’m sure you could see where conflict had the possibility to arise.

dominic kwon clearly had a different relationship with TITANS than the other groups under his company, to the naked eye it just seemed like he was very fatherly to them all, but he had too close of a relationship with kihwan and especially jiha.

nicholas was jealous of the two members for stealing all the love from his father, and they didn’t like him because he made too many assumptions. kihwan didn’t like jiha for stealing the attention from him in the first place, he was the prodigy first. there was a constant state of tension within the group, but it rarely showed in performances. they could put aside their differences on stage, but as soon as they were out of sight, staff had to deescalate fights left and right. maybe it was the passion to be better than the other members, or sheer frustration with the situation, TITANS would outperform in nearly every category they were presented in. they made a name for ODYSSEUS on multiple occasions (mostly for awards and success….sometimes for drugs and fights).

their biggest scandal however would arise in 2022, when the former ceo of ODYSSEUS and father of nicholas, dominic kwon, would be murdered. there was speculations of it being one of the TITANS members due to their mistreatment and close relationship with the man, but each man would be proven innocent.

TITANS would go on hiatus for three months, radio silence on every platform, before on november 3rd, 2022, it would be revealed that jiha would take dominic kwon’s place as the ceo of ODYSSEUS, having been given the position in the man’s will as well as a large chunk of his money and estates. nicholas was left with barely anything from his father.

the next anyone would hear about the members would be an article and multiple social media posts showing nicholas and jiha getting into a physical altercation outside a bar. well really nicholas beating up jiha, most likely due to the revelations about his father’s will.

TITANS would go on hiatus for nearly another two years while jiha got adjusted to his position as the newly instated ceo, and nicholas went to rehab after jiha agreed not to press charges before announcing their comeback in late 2024.

TITANS came back with their album TEAR DROP as if nothing had even happened the two years prior. they performed like nothing was wrong, just like they had all the years before.

despite all the shit they continue to get themselves into, even 15 years later, TITANS remains the most successful group under ODYSSEUS. they may not get along, but they would do anything for the check at the end of the day.
