Y/n jumped a bit and Jeongin checked his phone. Seeing the texts from his two friends that they were there. “Just Ji and (Astrid).”

Jeongin unraveled himself from her and got the door. Letting his two friends inside. Y/n said hi to the couple and (Astrid) checked on her. Jisung grabbed his daughter and the diaper bag.

The two didn’t stay long, letting the new soon-to-be-parents be. Jeongin locked the door and walked back over to the couch. Settling back down next to her and grabbed his phone, “Dinner?”

“‘M not hungry…”

“You don’t have to eat it right away, but you need to eat,” Jeongin said

Y/n nodded in response. Jeongin quickly ordered something he knew she’d eat before pulling her back into his arms.

“You’re good at taking care of people,” Y/n said

“Can thank (Astird) for that,” Jeongin said

“So she told me. Putting you through hell,” Y/n said

“Yeah. But I wouldn't change anything in my life.”

“Even us sleeping together and getting pregnant?”

“No. I wouldn’t change it.”

The two sat on the couch— only getting up to eat which Jeongin was proud he got her to do when the food got there. Ending up with her laying back against him, his hands rubbing her belly. A random Netflix show playing on the TV. Y/n looked down at his fingers gently drumming on her belly. For a moment, living in a little fantasy that they were a little family.

“You okay?” Jeongin asked

“Yeah,” Y/n nodded, not realizing she started crying

“Why are you crying?” Jeongin sat up more

“Don’t know,” Y/n said, wiping away the tears.

Jeongin grabbed the box of tissues from the coffee table and handed it to her. Y/n thanked him and wiped away the tears more as he rubbed her back. “You want to talk about it?”

“What do you need?”

“Think I just need to sleep.”

Jeongin nodded and helped her up from the couch. Leading her down the hallway of the penthouse to the guest room. “Text me if you need anything. Okay? And I’m just over there if I don't reply.”

“Thanks,” Y/n smiled and walked into the room. She closed the door behind her and sat on the bed.

Y/n sighed and set her phone on the nightstand and crawled under the covers of the bed. Trying to get some sleep but she was too worried to sleep. Eventually giving up and walking down the hallway to Jeongin’s room. The door was opened and he wasn’t inside so she wandered out to the living room.

The TV was still playing while he was sitting on the couch with his phone. He looked over as he heard her walking in. “Thought you were sleeping.”

“Tried, can’t.”

“You wanna talk?”

Y/n nodded and sat next to him, “Do you think I can stay for the week? just the whole thing with—“

“Yeah. That’s fine. I can take you to get some stuff from your place tomorrow,” Jeongin answered

“Yeah, but nothing for you to worry about.”

“I’m going to worry either way.”

“Just, earlier when i was crying, i got in my head for second about us being a real family. And then i remembered we weren’t together and I always thought when I got pregnant I'd be in a relationship and getting to have a family.”

“And it’s hurting you’re not?”

“Just a little. That’s not on you though. we agreed to co-parent and that’s that. I think it just hurts more because I’m actually starting to like you in a romantic sense but—“

Jeongin nodded, “What if we tried?”

“In, you don’t —“

“I wouldn’t offer if I didn’t feel the same, Y/n.”

“Huh?”

“Okay,” Jeonging turned to face her, “I’d be an idiot not to admit I thought you were pretty when we were at S-class, even though we were drunk and didn’t remember anything. I’d also be dumb not to say I’ve thought about us as a family, dating and raising a kid. My family already likes you, which is a bonus. I’m not saying I'm in love because this is all fresh and it doesn’t feel like we’re there, but I do like you as more than a friend or someone I'm raising a kid with.”

Y/n looked at him, tears welling in her eyes before she leaned for and wrapped her arms around him. Jeongin wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer. “I know you're dealing with your ex but my offer is going to stay as long as we have the baby.”

“I wanna try,” Y/n said as she pulled away from the hug, “I’m tired of Jihyun holding onto my life when he fucks it up. I wanna move on from that.”

“We’ll go slow then, not rush anything.”

“Okay,” Y/n nodded as Jeongin wiped her tears

“Okay,” Jeongin answered, “How about we get some sleep and go out for breakfast in the morning after getting some stuff from your place.”

“I’d like that.”

“Come on,” Jeongin helped her up again

“Can you… stay with me? maybe?” Y/n asked

“Yeah.”

Jeongin led her to his room and let her get the bed before him. Jeongin climbed into the bed behind her and wrapped an arm around her, laying his hand on her growing stomach. Y/n smiled to herself as she laid her hand over his and closed her eyes.

“I’m back!” Jeongin called into the apartment

Y/n glanced up from her laptop and looked towards the apartment door. Smiling as he walked into the living room. Leaning down to kiss her, “How’d the meeting go?” she asked

“HR is doing some investigation but it’s looking like i have to fire someone,” Jeongin sighed and sat down

“Sounds like fun,” Y/n laid her head on his shoulder

“Yeah. Favorite part of owning a company,” Jeongin wrapped his arm around her and kissed her forehead. “Speaking of companies. My dad’s company is hosting a banquet next week and he asked me to bring you.”

“Okay, I’ll be your date,” Y/n smiled

“There’s gonna be people from other companies there. They’re gonna ask about you.”

“And what are you going to tell them?” Y/n sat up and turned to him

“I wanna tell them you're my girlfriend but, what do you think?”

“Why are you asking me?”

“Because my world is different from yours. You’ll get a lot more attention than you’re used to. And our little guy is going to get it too.”

Y/n leaned forward and pecked his lips, “I knew that when we got together. I knew our baby was going to get the attention too. We can talk about him when I'm closer to the due date, but I'm fine with a little more attention.”

Jeongin smiled, “Good. I was worried about what you would think about it all.”

“Why?”

“I might sound like a loser but you're the first serious relationship I’ve had so in my mind this is a big deal.”

“You never had a serious relationship before?”

“That’s what you focused on?” Jeongin laughed

“Yes! Am I really your first serious relationship? Did you not date anyone before me?!”

“I did but they never lasted. Most of the time, girls didn’t like the fact my best friend was a girl and i don’t think it helped i was always with (Astrid) because of stuff that was going on at her home. I didn’t really work through it till we kind of fell off for a couple years.” Jeongin explained, “After I went to college, i just settled for hookups”

“Girls were mad about (Astrid)?”

“It was when her depression was bad and I chose to be there for my friend even though she told me I didn't have to be.”

Y/n smiled and pecked his lips again, “I hope our son is as good of a person as his dad is.”

Jeongin smiled and pulled her in for a kiss again.

Y/n nervously sat in her car outside the restaurant— nothing super fancy as she had asked thankfully. He had already told her he was inside, she was just trying to calm down, finally gathering herself, grabbing her bag, and walking inside. Telling the host she was meeting someone before they led her to the table.

Jeongin had set his phone down on the table as she joined him. “Hey.”

“Hi,” Y/n offered a smile as she sat down across from him.

“How are you doing?” He asked

“Okay? Kind of nervous honestly.” Y/n grabbed the cup of water in front of her and took a sip.

“Let's order then we can talk about it. How does that sound?”

Y/n agreed and picked up her menu. Scanning over the items for a few minutes before the waiter came over. Both putting in their orders and giving their menu’s to the waiter before they walked off. Sitting in an awkward silence for another minute.

“I’m not getting rid of the baby.” Y/n finally stated after a moment.

“I wasn’t going to make you,” Jeongin confirmed, “I know it was a one night stand and we barely know each other but I do want to at the very least co-parent this kid.”

“I can work with that,” Y/n nodded

Jeongin nodded, silence taking over the table again, “What do you do for work?” He asked

“I’m an editor for a online news outlet.”

“You work with Seungmin, right?”

“Yeah. We were in a lot of the same classes in college but weren’t friends until after graduation and we ended up at the same company.”

“Same department?”

“No. He works more in reporting and journalism. I’ve edited a couple of the stories they’ve let him published.”

“He hasn’t published a lot?”

“No, (Astird)’s case was actually the first one they let him take on his own.”

“They didn’t think he was going to be bias on it?”

“I don’t think he told his boss she was his roommate. But even when I was editing it, you could barely tell he knew her. He’s very unbiased in reporting which is a good trait to have,” Y/n explained as her phone went off on the table next to her

Jihyun ❌: why aren’t you home? I know its your day off

“Everything okay?” Jeongin asked

“Yeah, just a friend texting me,” Y/n brushed it off

“Do any of your friends know about you being pregnant?”

“Just my friend Hana, the one who was with me at the club.”

Jihyun ❌: Y/n

“Do any of your friends know?” “I may have told all of them?”

“How many is all?”

“Five.”

Y/n nodded

Jihyun ❌: when the hell did you turn your location off? answer me

“Do you need to take that?” Jeongin asked, seeing the constant light up of her phone from the text.

“No. It’s just me ex. He can deal with it?”

“When did you guys break up?”

“Almost a month ago. Hana ended up dragging me to a club to just get my mind off it.”

“Ah. So I was a rebound fuck,” Jeongin joked and it definetly made her laugh a bit.

“If you wanna look at it like that,” Y/n said, “I was more so looking to get drunk till I forgot but drunk me also is horny.”

“Bad break up then?”

“Yeah. It’s over now though.”

“Good for you,” Jeongin smiled

“So, how are we gonna work out appointments and stuff?” Y/n asked, changing the subject

“I would like to be there for them but if you don’t want me there that’s fine. I also can already tell I might not be able to make it to all of them with work.”

“You own you’re company, right?”

“Yeah. There’s certain meetings I can’t get out of.”

“I can try and schedule them as best I can to avoid that but I can always update you afterwards if it doesn’t work out.”

“That works out for me.”

The waiter came back with their food and they both thanked them before eating. Other small talk continued throughout the meal, some regarding their lives, others regarding the baby. Jeongin paid at the end of the meal, walking out with her.

“Don’t be afraid the text me if you need anything, okay?” He told her, walking her over to her car

“I will, thank you,” Y/n said, unlocking her car.

Jeongin opened the door for her, “I mean anything. Even if it’s a weird pregnancy craving in the middle of the night.”

The two of them laughed as she set her bag down on the passenger seat. “I will.” Y/n assured him and took her seat.

Jeongin closed her door and waved her off as he walked to his own car. Y/n took out her phone, wanting to text her friend the good news till she remembered the messages— with new ones.

Y/n felt very lucky for Jeongin’s family. By the time her and her boyfriend got to his parents house, his mom had put his brothers to work setting up. It looked great and Y/n could be happier.

“You know you can set up your own baby shower,” his youngest brother told him.

“I brought the baby.” Jeongin told him

“Y/n, are you parents coming early?” Jeongin’s mom asked

“My mom said they would. Depends if my dad actually gets out of the house on time.”

“Mhm. It’s always their fault,” She agreed as Jeongin’s dad walked in from the backyard.

“Oh, Jeongin, have (Astrid)’s parents reached out to you?” his dad asked

“No. I have them blocked and my staff knows not to let them in the building. Why?”

“Her dad showed up last night. Said they’d been looking for work. Thought you were hiring.”

“For them? No.” Jeongin said stealing some of the snacks

“They’re still in town?” Y/n asked

“Hard to leave town when you’ve practically lost all your money to pay your daughter for emotional damages.”

“I almost forgot you all know her biological family.” Y/n stole some of the food from her boyfriend

“Hey!” he complained

Y/n smiled at him as the door opened and her parents walked in. Y/n was happy to see them and greeted them. Jeongin introduced himself to her family. Making a good impression with her dad.

Y/n introduced them to the rest of his family as well. Both seemingly get along well thankfully. Even after her parents interrogated Jeongin while he wrapped his arm around his girlfriend.

“At least we met this one,” her dad said

“The old one wasn’t worth meeting anyways,” Jeongin said

A few minutes later, the door opened again and multiple voices came from the entryway. Y/n looked over to see Jeongin’s friends walking in.

“Congratulations!” Felix— the only one she’s met besides Jisung , just because she went to his office once around their first couple of weeks — said and hugged her.

“Thank you!” Y/n replied, hugging him

Jeongin introduced him to the rest of his friend group; finally getting to put names to faces. (Astrid) and Jisung showed up not long after with Deiji, laying against her dad. Jisung put his daughter up in her room to finish her nap while (Astrid) joined the group.

“Sleepy baby?” Minho asked

“Fell asleep in the car,” (Astrid) said

The group conversed a little till Jisung came back and met Y/n’s family too. Pretty soon some more of Jeongin’s family and Y/n’s friends came. Hana practically hoarding her friends from her boyfriend.

“Where’s my niece?” Y/n heard Seungmin ask (Astrid)

“Hiding from you,” she told him

“I see why they get along,” Wooyoung commented

All together, the baby shower was great. Y/n got to meet her boyfriend's extended family. Grateful for all the gifts their friends and families gave to help the baby. Everyone cooing at Deiji playing with the baby and helping her aunt and uncle open the gifts.

“She’s practicing for her birthday,” Hyunjin joked

“She gets enough with how much Ji buys her,” (Astrid) sighed

“I love my baby! Sue me!” Jisung defended himself

“I can already see Innie going that way,” Y/n said

“I have no idea what you mean,” Jeongin defended

“If he doesn’t I will,” Hana said

“I’m locking you out of the apartment,” Jeongin told her

“She’ll find a way in,” Wooyoung added

“I’ll help,” (Astrid) agreed

“(Astrid) for sure knows how to pick a lock. I’ve watched her do it at least twice,” Seungmin confirmed

“It’s a good thing she doesn’t have to live that life anymore,” Jeongin’s mom said

“If it wasn’t for Ji, I might still be.”

“I'm the reason you guys met,” Jeongin said

“If Ji didn’t lie about having a girlfriend they wouldn’t of met either,” Minho said

“That is true!” Jisung said

They all chatted for a few more minutes before they got up and cut the cake which also revealed their little boy's name.

“Now you can get something with his name on it,” Seungmin told Hana

“This kid is gonna be spoiled,” Y/n sighed

“He already is,” Jeongin told her, kissing the side of her head

“Gross,” his younger brother said

Jeongin glared at him as his mom served out cake to everyone. Y/n looked around the room as everyone talked. Happy with her new family and friends.

“You almost ready babe?” Y/n heard Jeongin call as he walked into their bedroom, finding his girlfriend staring at herself in the mirror. He walked up behind her and kissed her shoulder. “What’s wrong?”

“I’m starting to hate how the dress looks on me,” Y/n sighed. She knew pregnancy was going to change things about her but know was a bad time for her insecurities to act up.

“Does it help that I think you look beautiful in it?” Jeongin asked

“No, but thank you,” Y/n sighed

“Could just blame our son.”

“You knocked me up.”

“We were drunk and you were sad,” Jeongin defended as he pulled her over to their bed and sat her down. “You look great in the dress babe. Pregnant or not.” Jeongin kissed her lips.

“You mean it?” Y/n asked

“Of course I do.” Jeongin helped her get her shoes on before helping her stand. He grabbed her jacket and purse for her and led her out of the apartment. Not letting her stare too long into any mirrors as the got into the car to go to his fathers company. There was a little bit of paparazzi outside for whatever reason. Once the car stopped, he noticed Jisung and (Astrid) with Deiji just getting out of there’s. “Perfect timing.” Jeongin joked as he got out of the car.

Jeongin helped his girlfriend out of the car before shutting the door behind her. He grabbed her hand and followed his friends up. Getting noticed by his niece which forced them to stop.

“You didn’t have to wait up,” Jeongin told them

“Deiji insisted,” Jisung said as the continued up the steps. Security got the door for the five of them as there was some yelling from news sources.

There was a good crowd that had already shown up. Jeongin managed to weave through the crowd with Y/n to find his family.

“You guys made it!” His mother clapped and hugged Y/n before her son.

“And holding hands?” His older brother snickered

“Did you tell your parents?” Y/n asked her boyfriend

“No…”

“He’s really good at that,” his dad commented

“Y/n and I are dating and she moved into the penthouse with me,” Jeongin told them, wrapping his arm around her shoulder

“And the wedding is next week?” His younger brother asked

“And you’re not invited,” Jeongin told him

“I wasn’t invited to (Astrid)’s either.”

“They went to the courthouse. Plus she already told us they’ll be a ceremony later.” The oldest son reminded him

Y/n smiled watching the family dynamic. Thinking one day she’d marry into it. She wrapped her arms around Jeongin, staying close to him through the night. Having to sit often with the added human. Though she was entertained by her niece during that. The little girl patting her stomach as she showed off how much walking she had learned— it wasn’t much.

“What you doing?” (Astrid) asked her daughter as she picked her up from behind. Making the girl giggle.

“Ah!” Deiji said, pointing to her aunt.

“Auntie,” (Astrid) said

“She’s getting good at walking,” Y/n said

“She’s been practicing. Won’t be able to catch her soon.”

“Can’t wait for those days.”

“They come quickly.”

“Mamamamama,” Deiji interrupted

“And the talking,” Y/n said

“We’re starting dinner soon,” Jeongin said as he and Jisung joined their girls.

“Great. Uncomfortable conversations,” (Astrid) smiled

“Say dada,” Jisung told his daughter

“Mama,” Deiji said

“Good try, Ji.” Jeongin laughed at his dejected friend

“I can’t wait till you feel this betrayal.” Jisung glared

“Dinner,” Jeongin’s youngest brother passed by the group.

Jeongin helped his girlfriend up and the five walked to the dining area. Jeongin helped Y/n to her seat, towards the end with the rest of the family. Once everyone was sat, Jeongin’s dad made a toast. Thanking everyone for coming and supporting the company. Announcing his elsest was taking over the company at the end of the year.

“I would also like to congratulate Jeongin and his girlfriend on their pregnancy,” an applause came around the room as Jeongin patted her knee and she shot him a smile. “I would also like to congratulate (Astrid) on finally leaving her family behind. Even though she’s not my daughter, I’ve always seen her as one.”

The applause continued before everyone started eating. Little conversations taking place around the table.

“Feeling okay?” Jeongin asked her close to the end of dinner

“Little tired,” Y/n shrugged

“Wanna go home soon?”

“I don’t want to be rude and leave…”

“You’re pregnant. People will understand.”

“Alright.”

The two stayed a couple more minutes before saying goodbye to the family and Jeongin made his way around saying goodbye to the other people there. Jeongin got her out of the building and into the car. Y/n sighed in relief when she sat down in the car seats with him next to her.

“Feet hurt?” Jeongin asked as the driver started off to their home.

“Yeah,” Y/n sighed, “straight to bed.”

“Gotta wash up,” Jeongin kissed her cheek and wrapped his arm around her. Y/n smiled and leaned into him.
