Quick question,how did they know that that is really AB's purse?! You can't even see the actual purse, just the strap. Unless it's a very one-of-a-kind purse (which I doubt) that she and only a select few own, then I'd buy it...

But that purse looks like any other formal purse you could buy at Shein or the mall... 🤭

You may think I've forgotten about her main outfit... I most certainly haven't, and neither has the GP...

Hmmmm so I guess Paige is taking her frustrations out on Angie because she feels like she could potentially be taking her spot on the team after her 1yr deal is up? Poor Angie. Why do I feel like the micro aggressions might not be over with? Curious to see what Azzi’s reaction will be to the news.

I love menace Tessa and Jana. Figured someone else was bound to catch on, those 2 couldn’t hide their heart eyes even if they wanted to. Jana saying “won’t somebody please think about the complications” made me laugh really good. I see what you did there lol.

Stephie and Paige are becoming my new favorite duo, I love their relationship so much. Stephie not wanting Paige to cook is so real. I feel like Paige’s cooking style would just be door dash. I can’t picture that woman cooking anything 😂 I loved the call back of how much Paige hates vegetables and anything healthy calling them “nasty green things”. I think about that episode all the time. It’s always surprising how terrible the diets of elite athletes are. Paige probably would just eat In N Out and Noodles and Company for every meal if she could. Food is just another example of how much of a ying n yang relationship Paige and Azzi have. Princess eats all this really tasty healthy food, and Paige would rather shovel Chick-fil-A down her throat while she runs around 😅

Ohhhhh Stephie inherited the petty gene from Azzi I see 😃 And she’s a master manipulator? Using Clemence was a stroke of evil genius really. I love jealous Azzi! Not Claudia calling out her mom 😂 Stephie using Claudia’s mom to make her point? Oh this kid is too smart for her own good.

Hmmmm so the conversation with Drew in the car, how long has Azzi been feeling doubt? Really curious to finally find out what happened with the break up, because Drew’s reaction to seeing Azzi again and seeing his sister get back with her, just holds a lot of bitterness. More so than what seems reasonable for the info we have received so far. Like obviously he doesn’t understand Azzi’s reasoning for the break up. Did Paige just not share the real reason? Was Azzi’s reason to Paige not fully clear? It doesn’t feel like he believes that Azzi did whatever she could to not hurt his sister and as a byproduct not hurt himself. Just seems like there might be some misunderstanding that’s been festering for years. Obviously he’s hurt that Azzi wasn’t around in his life anymore and that’s definitely part of it. I’m just waiting for the full curtain to be pulled back I guess you could say.

Can’t wait to be a fly on the wall for that super awkward dinner next chapter 😅

They're so darn obvious, that it was only a matter of time before someone picked it up and really Jana needed someone else to commiserate with her.

I absolutely love writing Stephie and Paige so I love that y'all love them too! Paige's cooking style beyond doordash is making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches lmao but yeah she definitely drives Azzi a little insane when instead of helping get Stephie to eat her greens, she's out there gagging at them.

Azzi I think has always been a bit of an overthinker and especially when it comes to her relationship with Paige and it all sort of reaches a cumulative breaking point eventually. Drew doesn't know a lot about the breakup because it's something Paige never really wanted to talk about. But there's really a lot of things with Azzi that has Drew upset down to the fact that if she'd stayed, Paige would never have to have gone through her heartbreak, even if she wasn't really in love with her, with Olivia either. And ofc he feels like Azzi abandoned him too. But yeah a lot of things to be unpacked.

JJ was more than happy with being the ‘quiet Septiceye’. He was comfortable in silence while the others always needed noise. Be it music, videos, TV, or just talking with each other or even to themselves. The Egos outside of the House assumed JJ didn’t have a voice at all since he usually signed at them or projected words inside their heads. 

The Septiceyes and Wilford were the only ones who have heard JJ’s voice. It was a soft voice; weak, gravelly, and sounding like there was something permanently stuck in his throat. His vocal cords were damaged and while it didn’t hurt to speak, he kept it mostly to himself since he feared others speaking negatively about it. 

But sometimes he’d forget where they were.

“I’m thinking we should make an apple and cherry pie,” JJ commented as he looked at the fruit in front of him. He and Wilford were out at a farmer’s market and seeing all of the fresh produce was giving JJ endless ideas. 

“We should make a blueberry one, too,” Wilford said with a grin and a wink, getting JJ to lightly giggle. 

“Did you mean that literally or are you just teasing?” JJ asked with a playful nudge of his elbow.

“Both.” Wilford bumped back with his hip. 

“Mommy, that man’s voice is funny.” A young girl stated as she tugged on a woman’s hand. 

“Sweetie, that’s not polite.” The woman spoke gently to the child. “I’m sorry.” She added to JJ. JJ just smiled and gave a thumbs up, the smile fading after the woman and child walked away. 

“I know that face, gumdrop.” Wilford took hold of JJ’s hand and squeezed it. 

“It’s fine.” JJ’s words weren’t spoken, appearing inside Wilfod’s mind instead. 

“I don’t think it is.” Wilford glanced around and started walking off to get himself and JJ somewhere more private, knowing the other man would appreciate it. He slipped them behind one of the stands, almost having them in a hidden nook between the back of a wooden wall and a wooden fence. “It’s okay to be upset.”

“I’m not. Can we just go back to shopping?” JJ still refused to use his voice, showing his fear of being heard again. 

“If you’re not upset, then why are you using your powers with me when we’re alone?” Wilford watched as that got JJ to pause. 

“Sorry,” JJ whispered, looking down at the ground. “I didn’t want to be heard again.” He confessed his earlier thoughts. 

“Blueberry.” Wilford used his other hand to gently cup JJ’s chin and guide him to tilt his head up. 

“I just want us to enjoy our shopping without comments.” JJ leaned into Wilford’s touch when his palm moved to the side of his face.

“I don’t care what they think, to me, you are perfect.” Wilford rubbed his thumb against JJ’s cheek.

“Wil,” JJ said with an adoring sigh, eyes softening. “You are too sweet sometimes.”

“I am known for having a candy addiction.” Wilford chuckled. 

“Then let’s go get you some sugar.” JJ squeezed Wilford’s hand.

“Let’s~” Wilford grinned and stepped into a kiss, feeling JJ tense up in a moment of surprise before relaxing and leaning into the kiss.

“That’s not what I meant.” 

“I know.”

ok but how does booky angel organize their bookshelf? I'm stuck between chaos/vibes (I can hear the exasperation as David tries to figure out their system) and very neatly alphabetically (David is surprised but approves and the shelf is home to both of their collections).

(to have a bookshelf with a partner feels very intimate and personal, i think. and in the case of these two they both cherish this piece of their home that captures them both)

before they moved in with david, booky angel 100% had a very specific system for their bookshelves, but it was one that only made any sense to them. the books in the piles next to the bookshelf? absolute chaos no organization, angel just hadn't determined where they Belonged (which drove David a little insane when he would go to their place)

but i think once they moved in, david's books ended up intermixing with theirs (which i agree is SO intimate for some reason) i think that for the most part at that point things got sorted by genre and once they were in the genre angel organized by vibe which david still doesn't really understand

BUT there is a shelf in the middle with both of their favorite books propped up (even tho angel changes theirs out once a week at least) and a picture of the two of them bc they thought it was cute hehehehe

(david secretly also thought it was cute but he has only alluded to it before angel started teasing him. god forbid he say the actual words out loud)

8. Sci-fi or westerns?

SCI-FI

I was having a hard time answering this one at first, mainly because I was like, hmmm I don't know if I've actually watched that many westerns, but the ones I HAVE watched I usually liked quite a bit? And sci-fi isn't really what I'd consider my main go-to favourite genre either, though I know I've enjoyed them on occasion as well. I went to my Letterboxd account to help settle this debate in my mind, and I sorted my watched movies by genre, and then it showed me this:

I have watched 13 movies total categorized as "westerns" (apparently the Gumby movie counts?)

and I have watched 167 movies categorized as "science fiction" (though some of the movies listed here are VERY questionable inclusions for this category, imo)

AT ANY RATE, judging by the sheer number of movies I've actually watched of each type, I'd probably have to say I prefer science fiction? Though I think I mostly only like sci-fi stories if they have strong compelling characters and/or relationships included in them, which is something that sometimes bores me about sci-fi as a genre (that it focuses so heavily on thought experiment/otherworldly type premises that the characters in the story are sometimes just afterthoughts... think Christopher Nolan movies like Tenet, which I thought was an absolute snoozefest).

I'd like to watch a few more westerns as well! I'm too young to have grown up watching most of them myself, but there's just something about the desolate small town settings and the gruff mysterious loner characters prominent in westerns that I'd probably like. I imagine I'd prefer the ones that are a little less straight-up formulaic and that do something a little more deconstructive or elevated with the genre, probably.

19. Name a movie that blew your mind:

I'll tell you a few lil things that blew my mind about what is probably my top fave action movie, Mad Max: Fury Road (2015):

-it was the first of the Mad Max movies I'd ever seen, yet somehow I was able to pick up just about everything about the characters and the world-building that I needed to know without it ever stopping to have long flashbacks or excessive protagonist narration or the characters walking around and explaining a bunch of stuff to each other. It gives you just enough to make sense of the world and get where the characters are coming from and what they care about without compromising the breakneck pace or ruining some of the more intriguing mysterious questions left about everything and everybody. I am just so impressed every time I watch it by how well it unfolds without containing any clunky or boring long-winded exposition to sit through!

-It's just under 2 hours long, which as far as movies go is not that excessive. Whenever I think about what a weird and unique world it has to introduce you to and get you invested in and still also tell you a story the entire time it kinda blows my mind just how much they managed to fit into under 120 minutes! Other much less ambitious movies are often dragging on to run times of 2½ to 3 hours apiece. I just think it shows it was edited extremely well, and it kinda makes me think that most other movies that go over 2 hours long probably could be improved by having a bit of the excess fat trimmed

-The insane vehicles and war rig machines in this movie are actually real vehicles that they actually built out of junkyard scraps and actually drove around the desert, and all of them have their own elaborate backstories and lore. I'm not even somebody who's normally at all interested in cars, but some of these monstrous hybrid vehicles are just bizarre enough and visually interesting enough to basically also be characters in the movies themselves, and can also tell you a ton about the characters who drive them, too:

-The crazy car chase stunts and crashes and explosions are actually being done for real, too. People are ACTUALLY getting up on poles on the backs of the speeding cars and jumping their bikes over trucks and flinging themselves onto other moving cars and so on... can't even imagine doing that for real (and also lowkey kind of amazing to me that nobody got killed lol)

Nivi, you’ve done it again. Whenever I think a chapter can’t get any better you always out do yourself.

I loved the opening scene at the championship game. The UConn ND interactions were fun. What team is KK on? It didn’t seem like she was on the Wings with Paige and Ice or the Valkyrie with Jana and Azzi. Also, was Lou still on the Wings when Paige got drafted? Did they win a championship together? I hope they finally got to play together, I need it to happen in some universe 🙏🏻

The collateral damage gets me every time because their lives are so intertwined. The way you wrote that scene I just felt everyone’s perspective, and that’s a credit to your writing. (As an aside I just joined a book club and the book I had to read was terrible. The author was explaining everything without making you feel anything and that’s such a terrible combo) So then coming back and reading this chapter was such a breath of fresh air because you make the reader feel everything. I felt KK being disappointed and hurt that she felt like Azzi was running away again, when really she missed seeing her friend, and was frustrated that they kept coming back to the same place. And I felt Jana being protective because she see’s more of Azzi’s perspective after being around her the most. I also felt Paige and Azzi’s guilt of having done this to the people they love.

Ugh that damn phone call that Paige obviously does not remember 💔 I feel like it’s gonna come up again, and I’m curious and scared to see what Paige’s reaction is going to be. Especially knowing how much it has left a scar on Azzi. That’s gonna be such a hard revelation to hear and process.

Ahhh using their numbers for the floors was a nice touch. 3 & 5 for Azzi, but then getting off at 5 for Paige. Also using the 2 floors to make Azzi’s number to show she’s complete when they are together, and then Azzi goes back to being incomplete when she leaves.

Paige opening the door and Azzi was right there 🥹, Azzi being self conscious about her post pregnancy body and Paige already has it ingrained in her memory 🥹 So wait how many times have they hooked up since their break up? Only twice? Was the start of this chapter their first time sleeping together post breakup? Or did they hook up more but only twice since Azzi had Stephie? Of course the tattoo would be purple, Azzi just couldn’t help herself huh? 😭

Awww Azzi finally saying what Paige needed to hear so badly, that she wasn’t a secret. Man, Azzi has done some serious emotional heavy lifting for Paige in the matter of a few hours. She agrees to go to the bar with Paige, she confesses that Paige is the exception to all of her rules, calls her baby again, supportively tells Paige she’ll catch her during an intimate moment that holds so many meanings, Azzi leaving but coming back, and then finally telling Paige she isn’t a secret and doesn’t want to hide her. Omg we’re finally getting some progress with these two idiots and I love it so much 🥹

lol I love everyone being a menace around them, Katie was enjoying that entirely too much.

Stephie is a top tier manipulator and I love that for her, she really is a genius. She was already promised ice cream, fries, and the park from Paige for not getting to go to the bar and still manages to add on more junk food because she was sad they had a sleep over without her. And finally Stephie’s manipulation works in Paige and Azzi’s favor. I’m sure Katie had the biggest knowing smile on her face when that happened too.

I think KK's on the Sky? I have no reason for this other than I just like the Sky and vibes lmao. Yeah Lou would have still been on the team when Paige got drafted (2025) but I don't think she stuck around for long and eventually chose to play in France long-term.

Both Jana and KK are completely valid. KK really just misses her friend and Jana's the one who's watched her friend breakdown (remember she was there for the phone call) and so it's only natural that she's rather protective over Azzi now.

They've only hooked up twice since Azzi got pregnant and there was never any overlap with Olivia. However was there a time before that? Guess we'll find out!

YES! Azzi's taken so many baby steps in their relationship and I'm glad y'all see it took. Like my girl is genuinely trying even if there's still some hesitation at certain times.
