The night of the masquerade was going smoothly. Everyone in attendance seemingly enjoying themselves. Sure, the occasional quarreling was overheard but that's to be expected when drinks are flowing from an open bar. What most attendees were unaware of was the stirring on the other side of the island. See, nestled at the tip on the edge of Ravenwyck is what appears to be a cozy lighthouse. The lighthouse is home to an ancient wixen who has kept their eyes glued on the prisoners of The Forgotten Isle since its start. Through ancient spells and charms, she along with a few others ensure that no one escapes. There's only been one incident that resulted in a painful death, resulting in none trying since. Unfortunately, whilst the rest of the island is enjoying themselves, a bubbling from inside the mountain of Midnight Labriynth stirred resulting in those thought dead floating to the surface. Ghosts and ghouls were silently making their way across the island, some causing mischief, others filled with confusion. A small group of ghouls led by the aforementioned prisoner made their way to the lighthouse, taking the guards and the ancient wixen by surprise and killing them resulting in most the warding spells failing and prisoners easily making an escape. Once word hit the council members at the masquerade, it was too late to stop things from escalating beyond repair. Acting fast, perhaps somewhat ill-advised, with help of a few powerful magic wielding beings they put the ball under lockdown. Those able to, with power left to see what they could do to calm the situation whilst the rest slowly started splitting attendees into groups until eventually all were split up, some with familiar faces, others not so lucky. Still, few knew what was actually happening, is keeping thousands of supernatural beings mixed with humans in the dark admist chaos truly the answer? There's truly only one way to find out.

Out Of Character Details: The music has stopped, the ball has come to an end, and attendees have been split into groups in hopes to better control the masses. It's possible that one or two have managed to slip out, but the majority are now under lockdown until things are under control.

ghosts are now an available species. more info can be found here. escaped prisoners can also be applied for, though at the moment we'll only be allowing one per mun.

in order to keep us from confusing the dash event threads from new ones, we've decided to test out Discord as we find it can be easier with group threads. Everyone will have access to all the groups as it is quite fun to be able to read what everyone is up to during the event! A Tupperbox tutorial will be shared on the resource blog and in the server, though the admins will also be around for any questions!

The Fallout Campaign (Dm’d by my friend @techpirate1) Takes place... I’m not too sure where in the timeline, and I blank out on the location. XD I am NOT a fallout fan, so I do my best! But essentially we’re looking at a not-destroyed-hopeville.

This is my character : Vesper Reynauld the artificer. Last in date overseer of vault 11 (aka that one vault where the overseer was sacrificed ever year, so there were elections to chose who to kill every year), she chose exile at the end of her term instead of a quick execution. Sh expected the world to still be radioactive as shit and to kill her in a matter of seconds... so finding actual living people outside was a shock! She made her way to Hopeville, where she encountered a merry bunch of misfits : an albino talking deathclaw and history nerd, Achii. a talking dog, member of the followers of the apocalypse (and best girl), River. her companion ghoul, that saw it all go down, Dusty. a delivery girl with a BIG GUN, Vicky. (and her future crush, Enclave lieutenant Reginald Brownings (I believe is his last name, we call him Reggie. XD) as our companion NPC)

So first they band together to hunt down a guy that has been harrassing Hopeville’s guards. Upon finding his camp and killing everybody inside, they notice manage to get him, but not before he triggers a beacon. Since he’s associated with the brotherhood of steel, nobody is happy about this... Still, we raid the camp, and this happens :

And THIS is the moment everybody decided Vesper was probably the protagonist, despite her knowing NOTHING about the wastelands. XD

After that, We had a paladin come down to our neighborhood, and unfortunately trace Vesper’s pipboy... she didn’t react well to being blocked, and put a bounty on Vesper’s head. Though at the current time if I remember right, the Brotherhood got their ass handed to them already, so this type of bounty doesn’t carry as much weight as one might think.

Vicky received a package not long after to deliver to said paladin. Apprehensive we open it up... to find a missile launcher remote. (detonator?) with hopeville’s coordinates already plugged in. Reginald begrudgingly informs us we’re sitting on a few functional missile silos... So we all agree to hide the thing, and entrust it over to him.

We get the opportunity to go explore the wasteland, so we do! :D We jump over to the next town, meeting on the way a robot fan of Buddy Holy music but struggling to find a disk, L3wis (Lew1s? Lew15? Lewis! XD). Bringing him along, we get a job for vicky to deliver more stuff, after having a very “protagonist Vesper” moment in the casino, of Vesper playing blackjack for the first time and getting a blackjack immediately. XD

During the delivery, we set up camp, go hunt for food on the territory of a radioactive, invisible deathclaw, and also Vesper gets shot in the neck from nowhere, going straight to 1 HP. :D As the team immediately gets the assassin, Reginald gives her a shot of pretty intense stimulants, getting her pumped up... for a fight that never happens because the guy gets destroyed before she can get there. XD

Apparently he was after the bounty, but instead, Vesper loots his armor, and Vicky speeds up the mountain to go finish her delivery... findinga creative way to go back down. ;)

Once reunited, we all sleep... to wake up to glowing deathclaw footprints around the camp. Needless to say, Dusty who was in charge of the watch and fell asleep at the time, did NOT like that! We pack up and leave QUICKLY! We reach a big city juuust before there is a prison outbreak nearby, and go about our business : starting to research a way to synthesize anti-addictive medicine for River, wondering around for Visky and Lewis, Reginald and Achii went shopping (for their girlfriends), and Vesper just, you know... found a junk pile and made her own power armor frame. :) Armorer artificer, lads! XD (new guns were also aquired!)

We then went on a side quest for Reginald, to help him find notes on an experiment he was a part of back in the days, and after a LOT of unpleasant hallucinations that almost cost us some party members, we managed to secure everything we needed (insert delighted Dusty noises when he found a few redacted documents... and then documents that didn’t have the time to be redacted. ;) ).

AND THEN WE HAD A BEACH EPISODE! :D And for the moment, that’s it! :)

Congratulations on reading the whole thing, you get one more Vesper for your trouble. XD

1. i REALLY wanna explore more of the worldbuilding and linguistics of the kjverse!!!! i have a notebook dedicated to killjoy stuff BUT i havent started filling it out because i cant do anything til i finish my algebra course (EW.) i like the slang dictionaries okay? but they’re not really suitable for my version of the kjverse! AND bear with me here but - im californian and seeing danger days portrayed as Endless Desert pisses me off to no end!!!!! i am assuming batt city encompasses most of la + suburbs and YET!!! theres no mention of the massive sprawling cities (GHOST CITIES HELLYEAH) or the mountains to the east or the GIANT fucking redwood forests to the north!!!!!! like honestly i think its very reasonable to assume that the edge of zone six is somewhere in the middle of fukken utah for godssake cuz i have driven cross country nd that was Maybe eighteen hours of driving tops????

OKOKAY so funny story about redrabiesbaby. i was chatting w @tanoshiguru’s mun and they were like “yeah im fun ghoul” and i was like “OH do u need a party poison” nd the pieces kind of fell into place....i have to admit it IS really intimidating to start off in a new rpc if you dont have any friends to fuck around with!!! i was lucky enuff to have ghoulies mun and then from there it was rly easy 2 make more friends!!!! more under the cut cuz i was writing and it got LONG holy shiiiiit

if u DO want to start an rp blog...take note of which characters are taken and active and which characters arent; doubles arent a HUGE deal by any means but in some cases it can kinda limit who u may wanna interact with, but it never really was a problem for me? and im one of like 50 poisons. (im just the best tho like objectively ;D)

if u r makin an oc......i do not have a lot of experience in that department but make sure you have a solid backstory. DONT let your oc claim to know any current characters if you dont talk to the mods first, that pisses everyone off to no end and makes ppl unwilling 2 interact. but leave enough room for your character to grow, too, i think? its a delicate balance but its really not difficult to find, i think no matter if its canon or oc, there has to be a give and take between both players, its like walking thru cement if u have to carry a whole thread or storyline and if u dont, then it tends to be like ur caught in a riptide n ur just like “UM OKAY I GUESS? THIS ISNT WHAT I WANTED BUT WHATEVER”

YOU GOTTA INTERACT WITH PEOPLE!!!!!!! if you have good relationships ooc your characters r likely to get more interaction, 4 example i talk to pretty much....all of the muns of the characters that interact w poison? n their blog is like, SUPER active. so yeah. dont be afraid to make the first move, just keep an eye out for when people post ask memes and stuff and send stuff in; starter prompts/sentences etc are usually a really good way to start interaction that doesn’t require too much awkward planning, and headcanon / dash games are a super good way to show ur interest ooc!!! 

also !!!! there are tumblr groupchats and stuff!!! those are a super awesome way to get your character noticed. here should be some links, if it doesnt open directly just click on the “links” tab on that page :P im personally involved in the younger canon; the fab4 arent really famous yet but theyre on their way, but most players tend towards regular apocalypse, and others dont really care to differentiate canons kejjkhfdsjka

Who the heck is/are my muse(s) anyway:

In the main crew, we have Sammy, a nerdy ghoul boi who is the embodiment of Samhain (of the Celtic calendar) and Guardian of the Veil; Nightshade, his soul-sister and cat-turned-human witchy familiar; and last but not least Axel, the sadistic, cannibal crow mythos who’s only interested in revenge and fucking people (up).

They’re all super old and supernatural and 2/3 are always happy to meet new people!

Points of interest:

Samhain & Nightshade: guarding the Veil, keeping the balance, protecting innocent humans and mythos alike, adventuring and exploring new places, meeting people and learning new things. Sammy enjoys reading, treasure-hunting and getting lost in his research. Nightshade enjoys cooking, eating, listening to music, and keeping up with the latest memes.

Axel: looking for the biggest, baddest, toughest rivals he can fight to the death with, enjoys challenges, exploring new places, witnessing genocides and mass-murders, causing genocides and mass-murders, fucking people (up) psychologically and physically.

What they’ve been up to recently:

Samhain & Nightshade: their work and responsibilities as Guardians of the Veil. Though the Veil is at its thinnest during Hallow’s Eve (31st Oct), they work 24/7 by hunting malicious spirits and whatever dangerous creatures threatening both humans and mythos that are already existing in the world. When not on the job, they’re either out sight-seeing and visiting friends or chilling at home. They also run a small business from home by making potions, charms and selling spells or rare ingredients. Merchants and traveling caravans often stop by their place so they always have a lot of stock to trade.

Axel: whatever the fuck he wants. Mostly spends his time hunting down prey in the human world, or spreading his wings and exploring new and faraway lands/dimensions. He’s still on his quest to journey to Hell and get his revenge on the demoness who killed his whole family. Always easier said than done, but he’s patient and he plays the long game better than anyone.

Where to find them:

The crew live on an abandoned, magickal island called Sundown. Geographically, it’s somewhere up in Northern Ireland but can’t be marked on any human map. It was magickal long before any of them settled there and because of its supernatural properties, it can hide itself from the naked eye. At the same time the island and its forests are connected to every labyrinth, maze and neck of the woods across worlds and dimensions.

Samhain is always saying that the island has a mind of its own and likes to spirit people away, regardless if their living or dead. People either end up in Sundown when they least expect it, or because it’s where they’re supposed to go.

While you can easily find Samhain and Nightshade at home, Axel can’t stay cooped up in once place too long and travels all over the place. When he’s not hunting, he escapes to the quiet of the wild or the bustling big cities.

Current plans:

The narrative starts with Samhain and Nightshade already experts in their fields and doing their jobs as Guardians of the Veil, and continues with them helping Axel achieve his goal of ultimate payback. The timeline for this blog is infinite after that because I haven’t quite figured out the endgame for anything just yet. Which is why any plot that involves Axel killing Ketele, getting his heart back, and even Nightshade’s life after Samhain’s death, is considered an AU.

In terms of plans for this blog, I’m still working on things so that they can fall into place and serve as proper material for a comic. Once I’ve gotten all my ideas sorted out, those AUs might probably not stay AUs and end up being one huge main timeline.

Desired interactions:

I’d love more threads that explore the darker side of Samhain, whether it’s in the Mainverse or in any of the AUs where he’s not his usual, warm, friendly self or where he’s morally grey. Which is why I love writing him in his criminal verses! Some of my faves are: - Pirate AU: He’s the first-mate and quartermaster who has the gift of ‘Sight’ but he’s as pirate as they come. - Green Eyed Devil: Human-Ghoul hybrid bandit whose crew would do almost anything for money. - Mobprince AU: Classy and more reserved, the quiet but bloodthirsty type. I’ve always been a fan of mobs/gangs/syndicates. - Dark!Samhain: Angsty, overpowered hermit. I rarely get opportunities to write him in this verse which is a shame because I’d like to develop it more.

Nightshade’s all fun and games but once in a while, it’d be refreshing for Nightshade to do a serious thread. Like maybe deal with heavier, more sensitive topics. I’ve emphasized how she’s seen the same amount of horror Samhain has seen but comes out more mentally resilient in comparison, so I’d really like to explore that more about her. I also feel like she hasn’t been able to really connect with anyone as a real friend?? Idk how to explain it but like, I feel like she just floats between different muses and she’s so friendly with everyone, it’s hard to pinpoint whether there is a real connection between them or if it’s just Nightshade being...Nightshade? It’s none of my partners’ faults BTW! I’m reminding me to fix that about myself and how I write her.

Speaking of darker topics, I don’t mind pushing the boundaries when it comes to Axel as long as it doesn’t make anyone uncomfortable. I used to write some disturbing shit with him back in the day (like he broke into a drug lord’s flat and killed everyone in it so he could use it as his personal nest, killed and ate two police officers who were investigating the break-in, mutilated, tortured and ate a rapist alive after catching him in the act etc.). But the partners I used to write with are long gone and I feel like Axel needs to get back into the game again.

All of the above as well as anything else from my list of AUs! As mentioned on the page, that list is not the TOTAL list of AUs I’ve got. Some are just really small and still in development, and not enough to justify getting a spot on that list. Honestly, I’m open to plotting and coming up with more AUs so if you’ve got an idea, just hmu! I don’t make open posts or starters. I prefer writing starters once my partner and I have something in mind and we’ve plotted enough to go about it.

Though the blog is advertised as a WEEKEND blog (cus I work 9-5 on weekdays), I am usually lurking online thanks to mobile and will answer IMs when free. I don’t like replying to threads on mobile so I’ll usually reply on the weekends. Unless I’m busy that weekend, then sometimes I change up the rules and reply on a Friday or whenever I’m able.

When I reply to threads, I like to release a bunch at a time and then I’ll tag my partners so that they can see how many threads I’ve replied to out of the total count, like so! The total count often changes because we could have dropped threads in between, or partners go on hiatus and they get moved from ‘ongoing’ to ‘cold’ threads. Because of this, I have a threads page which I try my best to update.

[I feel like this needs to be said because people are starting to feel left out again and seems like that everyone seems to forget about it. It’s a major problem for everyone in the Ghost RP community and it needs to be addressed, again, before it causes even more problems for everyone. I’ve asked a few role players for their opinions so it could be added to this post.

Threads regarding NSFW:

Before you start a NSFW thread with a roleplayer, please make sure if both parties are 18+ or if they are comfortable doing a NSFW thread.

Doing a NSFW thread with a minor will get you in trouble with the feds especially if you are in the U.S. (I’m not sure about other countries though but please keep in mind that it is illegal to do anything NSFW with a minor in most countries.)

Things to keep in mind when you role play with someone in the Ghost community (or anyone that role plays for that matter):

Some of the admins have real life things to do before they ever get around to role playing. So be patient and understanding that they have to tend to personal things before they reply to any of your threads.

Some get so many notifications/asks that the threads they’re working on with other role players get lost (sometimes they don’t even get the notification).

Some just want to finish one thread at a time before starting another one with a different muse because it’s easier on them and will help prevent them from getting confused.

A thing role players should keep in mind is to not show it to the band members. It will make them uncomfortable. The way you act online and fan girl should be different to actually meeting them. It would be sexual harassment. They respect us, we should respect them. It should be common sense.

The muns are not their muses. If something they say or do makes you feel like they (or their muse for that matter) hates you, please let them know through messages and work it out.

Try and ask ahead of time for shipping, I know it seems weird but lots of muns dislike autoshipping.

Some ideas to help make role playing easier for everyone:

TAG the role players in starter threads or in asks that they send your muse. With some of us being in different time zones, this will help us reblog your starter threads or asks sooner and have no problem with trying to find it in your blog. Tagging role players in said asks that their muse sent will also help with the Tumblr glitch that some people are experiencing. If you don’t get a reply to it within a day or two, let the role player know that you tagged them in a post (make sure that the post is attached to the message as well) because sometimes we don’t get the notification.

BE PATIENT with replies. Give the other role player some time to answer the thread or ask you sent in. If you’re not sure how long to wait, you can’t go wrong waiting 2-3 days for them to answer or reply. Ask them at the end of the second or third day if they ever got the notification or ask but be polite about it please. No one likes to get a rude message about a reply.

COMMUNICATE with the muns (through messaging not through a post) about threads, if you’re not okay with something, or something else that comes up. Communication is key to making a lot of things easier on everyone. Don’t be afraid to send a mun a question about something if you ever get confused or if you ever get uncomfortable with something. One thing that I love the most is when someone comes to me and asks what I meant by something. So please communicate with the role players.

For Ghost RP’s or the fandom to keep in mind:

Another thing is that the guys are playing characters. You need to separate who the guys really are from the characters they play. It's ok the ship the ghoul characters just not them irl.
