"Ah, so you're American." Lea said with a smile. She’d never been to America before. Though she did want to visit someday. Perhaps the king and queen would travel there for a diplomatic visit someday.

It had taken a while to get time to go to the little park, let alone find their way there. But Miles had been determined to make it there. Things had been chaotic enough, moving here from West Virginia, and getting adjusted at the hospital. But with a four year old? And doing it all on his own?

Anna needed the break. The chance to just be a little girl. And to be honest, he needed it too. Being a single working parent was hard. And he had to make sure that his daughter's emotional needs were being met just as much as her physical ones.

As they walked down the path, Anna's bright smile, sweet face, and little voice greeted everyone with a hello and a wave. But when she saw the little creek up ahead, she broke free from his grip and raced forward, nearly running right into the legs of a woman also standing on the creekbed.

Rushing up, Miles managed to catch up before the little girl ran into the water. "I'm sorry." He apologized as Anna wriggled, eager to go splash around in the water. "She didn't bump into you, did she?"

"Mama?" It wasn't like her mother to speak this way, especially because Daphne tried to spend time with her family of origin as much as possible, she wanted to raise her own children the way she was raised, surrounded by family.

"What brought all this on?"

"I thought we could just go for a walk through the meadow." Michael said, stepping out of Belle's arms and holding out his hand to her. When he'd first woken up he couldn't imagine living this life, the war was over, and he had married the most beautiful and kind hearted woman he'd ever met.

Michael smiled, Belle was shorter than him, so her cheek came to rest between his shoulders.

Reaching for her hands, Michael lifted her left hand and kissed her wedding band.

"Your father's off, and chores are finished for the day, want to go for a walk?"

Not even her vivid daydreams had been a fraction as spectacular as her reality is. Michael Carter is everything Belle's ever desired and more. His eyes always bore the vivacious promise of adventure, his witty nature and aptitude with reading people never ceased to amaze. He still has the power to encourage a blush into the breadths of her cheeks with ease. And he does it by pressing a kiss over the ring he gave her. It's still the most beautiful gift she'd ever been given, after him.

"With you, my beloved, of course. Where would you like to go?"

"I didn't understand most of that, but thank you." Languages just weren't Becca's forte, so she was grateful for Bobbi.

"Can you translate my words as closely as possible? I need her to know she's not in trouble, but this is something to take seriously."

"Hey, I got kinda a big favor to ask, I have a patient who only speaks Spanish, I need a translator, and we might need some help from the nonprofit, we'll see. Can you help me out?" (Rebecca for Bobbi)

"Por supuesto." Bobbi grinned. Rebecca might not be able to speak Spanish, but Bobbi was more than confident that she didn't need to in order to read from her tone alone that she was more than willing to assist. "Siempre feliz de ayudar."

Leanora doesn't mind when friends call her Lea, but no one can ever call her Nora. She will get so mad.

"I cannot imagine you ever being that way, you're a good man, and I have missed you since you went away to America." Sybbie blew out a puff of smoke and turned back to Barrow.

"I think if she was still alive, my mama would count herself lucky to be your friend... and I hope you have found happiness in America, even though it's so far away."

"I don't understand, why would anyone be cruel to you?" Sybbie said, Barrow had always been nothing but good to her, she found Mr. Barrow to be the best kind of person. Kind and gentle, he'd played with Sybbie and her cousins as children and now that Sybbie was grown she still found him to be a good person.

"I know I'm not her, but for what it's worth. You've always been a good friend to me."

Hearing her own words echoed back at her made Leanora smile.

"Well put, Your Highness." The lady-in-waiting paused taking in the view.

"I should see to my mistress, but I hope to take you up on your offer to look at the stars later tonight, perhaps after dinner?"

"It is a lovely place to live, as I'm sure is your island, the things that make these places beautiful is different, but in the end it's still beautiful." Leanora said smiling, it was not her place to tell the prince of her king's plan to negotiate a trade deal between the two kingdoms, but even Lea could see that this little island was going to be a profitable trade partner.

"What is your favorite thing about your kingdom, Your Highness?"

"You have my word, I am better now then I was, I want to get to know him." Elain reached out and took Feyre's hands, giving them a gentle squeeze.

"And speaking of being better, I know we haven't always been close, but if you're willing I'd like to be a better sister to you." Elain had always been closer to Nesta, and hadn't always been fair to Feyre, she wanted to change that.

"If you don't want that, I understand. Just know that I am sorry for everything."

"I just... I wish I was able to get to know Lucien before all this happened, I feel like there's expectations now." She would ask Nuala and Cerridwen about how she could reject a mating bond if she needed to later.

"Will you arrange things so Lucien comes back? You're High Lady, surely if you said the word he'd come."

Becca sighed, Steve fighting was nothing new, and maybe it was because Bucky had left for Europe this morning, but she felt responsible for Steve now that her brother wasn't here to protect him.

"What?!" He groans, tilting his head back. He leans his head forward and purses his lips together, looking at Rebecca. "What did I do now?" He questions, wrinkling his nose a bit.

Callan pursed his lips.

He didn't quite belive his cousin, but it also wasn't his place to question Lyra, she was the daughter of his High Lord and High Lady, she technically out ranked him.

"... Be careful, that's all I'll say for now."

"Ava is working at the camps. It's different." Callan argued, Ava already had permission to be at the camps, so Lyra's comment about not telling their family did not bode well.

"Ly, what are you doing?" Callan really didn't like this, especially because if anyone found out and found out that he knew about it, there would be consequences.

"Well, if we are to be family, then you should know, I don't care for being called 'Lord Bridgerton' by family members." Edmund said, smiling so she knew he wasn't angry.

"You may decide what you call me, but no titles, and my wife agrees with me on this. You're to be a member of this family, it doesn't matter that you were born to another, you'll be treated just as any of our children are treated."

"No, not just a movie thing. Sometimes, the old ways are the best ways." Calvin smiled, opening the barn door for Mia.

"Horses are smart, but they are still animals. Do me a favor. The tack room is the first room on your left. Can you open the bin labeled sweet feed and get a full scoop of feed for me?"

"The barn," Calvin said shrugging when she asked about him getting up on a horse everyday. His dad had taught him and Beth to ride, and he always said to get back on after they came out of the saddle.

"Don't really have a choice, horses are the best for driving cattle and getting to the more rural parts of the property, you said your horse reared up but you didn't come off? That's great, do you know what spooked Sandy?"

"About another hour or so before we arrive," Leanora hadn't minded Edward falling asleep, travel was tiring she couldn't fault him for that. But she was a little glad that he was awake now.

"I won't lie, I'm looking forward to getting out of this carriage and stretching my legs when we arrive."

Groaning softly, Edward realized that he'd somehow fallen asleep in the carriage. He wasn't sure how long he and his wife had been on the road, nor how close they were to the destination Kit and Ella had sent them on.

Rubbing his eyes, he looked over at her with a soft smile. "I'm sorry. I don't know how I fell asleep. Where are we? Has the driver said how long until we're there?"

Leanora couldn't help herself she laughed in delight.

"Great minds think alike I suppose!" Leanora said, she loved that he wasn't even put off by her proposing first.

"Do you want to put the ring on since I sort of stole your thunder?"

When Edward had asked Lea to take a walk in the castle gardens with him, he certainly hadn't expected those to be the words she'd say. Taken aback, the young Duke could only blink for a moment. Yes, he and his sister's lady-in-waiting had spent quite a lot of time together since Ella and Kit's wedding celebration. But until that, Edward been rather uncertain of her thoughts and feelings regarding him.

Slowly, a smile tugged at his lips, and he wasn't quite able to stop the chuckle that escaped. "Well, I suppose that makes this a tad redundant, but I hope you won't mind if I do anyway?"

Then, reaching into his pocket, he got down on one knee and held out a small velvet box.

"Hm... you know you married me for my ruggedly handsome good looks, Dear." Edmund joked, honestly though he knew how lucky he was. He could have ended up in a loveless marriage if Violet had turned him down all those years ago.

"That dress reminds me of the one you were wearing the first time I saw you."
