fynn decided against a pepper-lookalike cake and went with a racing car instead. it was one of those really fancy-looking ones you could find on social media but this was a special day and he even convinced his cat to wear a birthday hat after paying her with food that was more expensive than his own. fynn and pepper waited for taeyang to make it home, the house which was still mostly in renovation decorated. he perfectly tamed the music when the nurse unlocked the door and Christmas lights went on. 'happy cake day! i mean, happy birthday!' the second birthday together was just as special as the first and fynn had no intentions to make the next any less, this day always would be special. pepper even wiggled a little with her tail when fynn moved over: 'yes, before you can do anything, you have to make a wish and blow out candles!'

a chuckle of joy escaped the nurse's lips as he was greeted home by his partner, a grand cake in hands and their beloved furball of cuteness by his side. it was clear how much effort and thought the other had put into celebrating his birthday, fynn always did. “ aww, baby... ” taeyang cooed adorably seeing the british shorthair wearing a tiny party hat on. it was placed perfectly on top of her head but her resting grumpy face still remained which made her look even cuter if anyone asked him! he was about to squat down to give the little ball of fur an affectionate caress when his boyfriend urged him to make a wish and blow out the candles, to which he obliged. closing his eyes with a small smile, hands clasped together as if in a prayer he's long stopped believing in the power of. the faces of the people he loved started appearing into his mind and he wished for them and himself nothing but happiness, good health and closure. finally, if his person was his destiny, he hoped that they could stay as they were for a long time and grow through all the hurdles they would have to face. with that, he finally opened his eyes to meet the gaze of the other before taking a deep breath in, puffing out his cheeks and sweeping his breath across each row of candles. “ thank you. you did amazing with the decorations and well, everything else, ” he spoke softly, a hand cupping the blond's cheek with the same fond look he always had whenever he'd look at him. “ now, aren't you forgetting something? where's my kiss? ”
