So  not  much  is  known  about  Thranduil  prior  to  the  fall  of  Oropher.  That  is  to  say,  I  don’t  have  much  to  go  on  by  means  of  his  romantic  life  other  than  the  fact  that  he  eventually  got  married.  But  that  aside,  I’ve  been  thinking  about  potential  experiences  and  which  way  he  would  lean  about  things.  Considering  he’s  been  getting  strict,  vigorous  lessons  from  his  father,  I’m  inclined  to  believe  that  even  in  his  young  life,  he  would  have  exercised  a  lot  of  caution  /  restraint  about  getting  involved  with  someone  romantically.  Even  simple  experimenting  to  take  the  edge  off  would  have  to  be  with  someone  he  trusts.  He’s  far  too  concerned  about  his  reputation  and  sticking  to  what’s  expected  of  him.  He  would  not  feel  comfortable  with  just  any  person  and  with  his  constant  fear  of  war  /  having  to  relocate,  he’d  likely  hesitate  to  form  romantic  attachments  that  could  end  abruptly  for  one  reason  or  another. 

As  for  what  kind  of  lover  he  would  be,  it  would  depend  on  his  partner.  He’s  a  studious  person  so  he  would  take  the  time  to  get  to  know  his  partner.  He  wouldn’t  be  one  for  rushing  things  as  he  would  want  to  know  exactly  how  to  please  them.  But  that  would  mean  trial  and  error;  experimenting  until  he  gets  it  right.  He’s  naturally  a  cautious  person  so  he’d  be  dependent  upon  cues  from  his  partner  or  blatant  honesty  about  what  he’s  allowed  to  do  or  what  they  want  from  him.  And  the  cues  can’t  be  subtle  either.  Let  him  know  what  you  want  because  if  it  isn’t  obvious,  he’ll  carry  on  and  assume  lines  shouldn’t  be  crossed.

Of  course,  there’s  likely  to  be  some  exceptions  verse  pending.  But  over  all,  he’s  not  the  type  to  just  court  or  ‘date’  regardless  of  verse.  In  the  second  age,  he’s  too  paranoid  about  a  lot  of  things  while  Hobbit  Thranduil  just  ain’t  got  time  for  none  of  that.

Now  what  he’s  like  in  bed?  x)  He’s  sensual...  seductive...  can  do  soft  or  rough  if  that’s  your  thing.  Marks  on  him  are  an  absolute  no  unless  you’re  special.  Very  special.  Elf  special  cos  he’s  far  too  vain.  There’s  more  but  I’ve  rambled  enough.  As  a  side  note,  his  preference  depends  on  verse,  but  know  he’s  not  likely  to  look  beyond  other  elves  unless  you  somehow  manage  to  impress  him  over  time.  Lots  of  time.
