          HONESTLY WHEN SILCO STARTED SPEAKING, she almost zoned out. ' blah, blah, zaun this, piltover that, blah, blah, ' it was a similar tone of voice to when he would lecture him, or try to give her a lesson. hands busy tinkering with another weapon of some kind, another grenade it looked like. after a moment his tone changed and jinx realized it was something different. something affectionate. spinning in his chair to look up at him from where pow sat.

          silco loved his metaphors. and they often went over her head if he was entirely honest. but, pow got the gist of this one. offering him a wide grin as he laughs. " you're being all sappy again. what's gotten into you lately ?? you're normally all ' argh jinx stop messing up my plans grrr stop leaving your stuff everywhere grrr jinx turn your music off'. " he mocks, suddenly using his foot to spin his chair in a circle faster.

          as it slows from the momentum, he jumps up, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. did she need to say anything that the tight, desperate grip on him didn't already ?? jinx's holds on him were always like this. scared he'd leave, or crumble in her hands . . .

          LUCKY FOR HIM, jinx's attention is fickle, even without outside manipulation. looking at viktor's strange and wrapped reflection through the gemstone distracts her for most of his words, before he mentions being the inventor behind them. quickly perking up. " YOU made these bad boys ?? " he laughs, flinging his arms outwards excitedly, large pigtails swinging slightly behind him from the motion. " that's . . . !! that's amazing !! " seemingly ignoring the last part of his sentence about not being allowed to take them.

          " okay, so if i can ask anything then, how'd you make 'em ?? see, if i could make my own i wouldn't have to keep sneakin' in here !! it's always such a hassle !! last time i had to make this big scene about it !! so much work !! " it was the perfect solution for both of them really. thinking of all the things he could make for silco's plans !!

          she can't sit still anymore, jumping off the desk to skip closer to viktor, ignoring or not noticing his attempts to move further away. " i'm already figuring out the weird symbol thingys !! if i can just get the source, the lanes will be all caught up in no time !! " to be honest, he doesn't even know how true that is or if it would be kept a secret until silco had some plan for them. oh well !! " do ya get them from the ground ?? where do ya find 'em ?? "

          JINX HAD SEEN VERY FEW EXPLOSIONS IN THEIR YOUNG LIFE. mainly small ones from wandering the lanes. so much stuff happened there that was probably dangerous for him to be so close to but oh well. even being in the lanes was dangerous with the gasses that lingered in the air. the only real explosion she had seen was the one at the warehouse. the one with those crystals. she had brought the last one with, wanting to maybe ask the doctor if he had any idea what they were while he was here. if only one had that big of an explosion, was it a good idea to use this last one ?? jinx had almost completely talked themselves out of mentioning them, before singed starts talking about bigger explosions, bigger reactions. now this was the good stuff.

          " po-tass-i-um and rab-i-dium- " she pronounces carefully, they sounded and felt so strange on his tongue, such big words, but he needed to remember them. eyes dance with excitement that could only be of a child learning something. putting the knowledge to memory, and excited to try it out. maybe all kids were scientists at heart, or all scientists were secretly kids ??

          "do you know what everything is made out of ??" singed seemed like he did, so the follow up question ; " what are these ?? " the small hextech crystal is pulled from his side bag, showing the glowing orb to the doctor. " i used this before, i think either when it breaks or if enough - uh energy is put into it, it explodes but i don't know what it is. how big would the explosion be if we combined this and the other things ??" too big. no, not too big, it would just have to be done away from things he cared about. away from sensitive equipment.

          JINX HAD ONLY ORIGINALLY ONLY PICKED UP BITS AND PIECES OF SIGN. some were more common to just know. for example, vi knew a couple for when they were trying to be stealthy during jobs - but who knows if they were real signs or just bullshit someone made up. a few years ago she started learning, mainly due to silco's insistence. ' if you dont wear your hearing aids, we have to learn to sign together, you cant keep ignoring everyone ' was the compromise they came to. she did hate the hearing aids, so this worked better. and now that he was spending more time with viktor, it only made sense to teach him some too. it was also during this venture that he had been learning that some of the piltover signs, in crossing the bridge had been changed, for obvious reasons -

          " that's so different from the one i know !! " jinx laughs, sitting cross legged on the desk in front of viktor's chair that he was sat on. " piltover is this - " the sign for 'p' is shown before being turned into a rude gesture, making him laugh again. " and - and enforcer is just - " another similarly rude gesture is given.

          it was weirdly intimate teaching this to viktor, showing this side of himself to someone other than silco. it was vulnerable, but he trusted him. viktor had opened up first about getting sicker, which jinx had followed up with her own disability, her hearing. they had become fast friends despite being on other sides of the bridge. at the end of the day, they were on the same side of the war and that was what really mattered. " can you sign your name ?? OH can i make your name sign ?? this is mine !! " two hands trailing from the back of her head to copy her long braids, making her giggle to herself. jinx had seen people talking about her in the lanes using sign and had picked up on the name from them.

          @damagecompilation           panic: one of our muses is having a panic attack and the other tries to calm them down (vi!!)

          POWDER WASN'T EXACTLY SURE WHAT WAS HAPPENING, but, it wasn't the first time either. it didn't happen a lot, but now and then vi's breathing would get fast and irregular and would seem unresponsive to any words she tried to speak. the younger sibling, without a word, moves across the room, sitting down beside the other and wrapping his arms around vi in a tight squeeze. the pressure had seemed to help before.

          he won't ask what triggered it, but would be willing to listen if he decided she wanted to share . . .

          JINX EAGERLY ANALYSES THE OTHER'S TEETH AND MOUTH. poking and prodding at different sharp points. as mukuro speaks, only then does jinx pull away, grinning wide like he wasn't just being invasive and weird ( but when wasn't she ?? ). " i like 'em !! i got some too - " using her own figures again to show off his own sharp canines. besides that, there's a slight gap between the top front teeth and if you look deeper, the rest of the teeth were odd and strange, barely looked after.

          she suddenly jumps back into her desk's chair with a loud thud from the force of the erratic movement, chair almost tipping and falling, but he manages to catch himself, leaning back over his book that pow had been scribbling in during the prior class. " i'm workin' on a new thing to make right now !! you like guns 'n stuff, what do you think ?? " gesturing to the scribble of some kind of grenade that also had sharp metal teeth - how fitting !! " attach 'em to people so they can't escape 'em instead of throwin' and hopin' !! " jinx explains excitedly, watching intensely for the other's reaction.

          viktor gives a muttered 'thanks' as he closes the door, still wrapped in jayce's coat as the door clicks shut. with an exhausted sigh he turns into his apartment, a startled yelp leaving him as he's greeted with the other sat on his desk, so seemingly nonchalant.           " wh- jinx? why are you here - ? why did you - ? " he can't manage to finish a sentence, too flustered by the entire scenario.

          JINX LIGHTS UP AS VIKTOR ENTERS THE ROOM. making sure to wait until whoever had escorted him had gone before she jumps off the desk, - THUNK - giggling as she grabs his cane from beside himself and brings it over to him. " i wasn't gonna leave you there for too long !! like if i got bored in here by myself i'd come get you !! " he explains, grinning, like this was a completely normal conversation. " plus, i forgot your cane !! and i felt bad !! " strange morals have that being the reason he felt guilty and not the act it's self.

          jinx spins on their feet before wrapping their arms around viktor's neck, hanging off him, eventually pulling them both to the floor into a heap as he giggled wildly. jinx had little care that viktor was still naked or risking exposing him from the coat that was barely covering him. " did'ya have fun ?? i watched from the window !! your boyfriend came to rescue you !! " he giggles. " maybe he is a knight in shinning armour, would that make you the damsel in distress, or a frog, or a wolf ?? or an axeman ?? " she's rambling, brain too fast for his own lips, the words starting to mesh together a little, sentences starting to sound nonsensical.

          " oh !! there's a puppet too, or a puppy !! a mermaid !! maybe you could be a frog that's secretly an axeman that's secretly a wolf !! " jinx shut up !! " sorry - sorry - there's just so many fairytales !! sometimes i wish i was a beautiful princess in a tall tower and someone could come save me, or maybe i wanna be a big dragon that kills everyone with lots of fire or my big claws and big teeth!! monch monch !! that sounds better actually - " JINX -

          LAID OUT ON THE OTHER'S DESK, she was talking about the wanted posters that had started turning up with her own face on them. they didn't matter, it just meant the people on topside were scared of him. they wanted him behind bars, and fat chance of that ever happening. they'd blow themselves up before they'd let the enforcers take them.

          viktor was always talking about legacy. a concept jinx had very little care for or knowledge of. who cares if you're remembered after you die ?? you're dead !! dust and bones and rot !! " legacy - shmegacy !! " he huffs throwing his arms dramatically. " you have good ideas and shit, just do them !! don't let people get in your way !! "

          suddenly sitting up to see the other better, " 'speccially no goody - two - shoes topsider !! " jayce. they had never interacted face - to - face but jinx knew all about him from his friend. what a piece of work !! though it seemed like everyone up here was !! and she thought she was crazy !! ( well she is, but you get the point !! ) " you're trencher trash !! they're already scared of you, no matter how nice you dress up !! "

          BEFORE A RESPONSE COULD BE SAID, jinx had answered with the barrel of a gun directed at yvonne, finger barely held back on the trigger, twitching, eyes wide, reflecting the bright moon in the darkness of the night. it takes a long breathless moment before he's able to pull the gun away groaning loudly.

          hand with the gun is quickly bought back to the deep wound in her own arm, not working to hold back any of the blood that was spilling down and staining his skin. " don't sneak up on me !! i could've blown ya to bits !! " she complains with a huff. to be fair, yvonne could've made themself well known and could've still surprised the blue hair girlboy. depended on how loud their head is, and it's screaming right now.

          " look, if you help me without tellin' silco how bad i fucked up i can owe ya big time . " whatever that meant, that would be a problem for future jinx !! right now present jinx doesn't want to bleed out !! he wouldn't be able to make it back to his workshop right now without passing out from blood loss or getting noticed by someone important. and either were not desirable outcomes.

         JINX HAD THESE MOMENTS OF HYPER AWARENESS, she had managed to dodge bullets and other weapons in the blink of an eye more times than he could count. but, to be honest, he didn't even need that moment of clarity to hear the other following her. and it was just as easy to sneak up on him.

          finger on the trigger, and her guns never come with safety. it was all or nothing here. the only reason she hadn't pulled it was a morbid curiosity. the need for knowledge. the curious cat and the cautious crow. " why are ya followin' me ?? do i know ya ?? " her strange speaking habits clear. not an accent, just words getting mixed up and cut off in his head. " you're not an enforcer, so what do ya want ?? " shoot him, shoot him, shoot him !!! they scream to her, making her hiss to herself before pushing the barrel closer to the stranger to refocus herself.

" jinx suddenly speaks up to the person sitting at the bar with him, leaning across the counter to squint up at them, analyzing their features intensely. jinx searches his brain trying to figure out if they recognized them from being in the last drop before or not. " hmm . . . maybe you just have one of those faces, y'know ?? i know most of the regulars. "

          powder JINX WAS STILL GETTING USED TO HOW SILCO TAUGHT THINGS. it was so different from vander and vi, where they would have strict rules and be mad when you broke them. here, there was very few rules. but, instead there were long monologues and stories with statements about how the world was and how it treated people like them. outcasts. it was . . . different . . .

          jinx had looked up to him when he had entered the room, she had been working on a drawing, himself and his things spread out on the floor of silco's office. a drawing of jinx was half done on the paper. big long pigtails behind the drawn figure, even though his own were barely shoulder length.

          " what do you hide ? do you keep things even from me ? " she can't deny the insecurity in her voice as she asks, sitting up some more to scoot closer to him. she didn't think she hid anything from him, but maybe.
