ARMY NOTES
-Chungcheongnam-do is the richest province of South Korea and borders the Gyeonggi-do province (where Seoul is located). You can read more about the area here.
-Chuseok (추석) also known as Hangawi (한가위) is a 3-day autumnal harvest festival held every year on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar on the full moon. It's pretty commonly referred to as 'The Korean Thanksgiving'. Typicaly, Koreans travel to their hometowns/ancestarial places of origin to visit their families, and pay repects to their ancestors. You can learn more about Chuseok here and here.

Chuseok, the national holiday of 2023, is coming
It's been a long time since we all said hello together
Are you having a great holiday, Starlight?
HYUK ▶
I hope you spend a warm time with your family
while watching the full moon and shining stars
Don't forget to make a wish while looking at the full moon
Ken, what are you going to wish for?

Yes, I'm going to beg for more diverse time
with our babies during the rest of this year
Starlight, I hope you eat a lot of delicious holiday food

And there are a lot of people who can't rest during the holidays,
so I hope you can rest and have a good Autumn
Couple days late with this one because I recently moved to a new house and have been busy with that, but I'm mostly settled now and back to blogging~
Baengno (notice the Eng. spelling accounts for the pronunciation change!): One of the 24 seasonal divisions, there's supposedly lots of dew on this day and it's the start of fall
Chubun: Another of the 24 seasonal divisions, day & night are the same length today aka the Autumn Equinox
29일 추석 (음8.15) - Chuseok (lunar calendar 8.15): This is one of the most important Korean holidays! It's traditionally a harvest festival and is also called 한가위. It falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, the day of the full moon, so the date on the Gregorian calendar changes every year. The holiday period (추석 연휴) is always three days: the day before, the actual Chuseok day, and the day after. If one of those days falls on a Sunday, then it's replaced by another day so people get more time off of work. This year the holiday period is the 28th (Fri) to the 30th (Sat), but the president just declared Oct. 2nd (Mon) to be a temporary holiday because the 3rd is also a red day, so now we'll have 6 days off! (My workplace was already giving us Monday off, but now it's an official red day, only for this year)
