행정부 | the executive branch

대통령 | the president - serves one 5-yr term & elected by popular vote

청와대 | The Blue House (like The White House) - located in Seoul and where the president resides referred to because of the blue tiles on the roof

입법부 | the legislative branch 

국회 - the national assembly (like the senate and the house of representatives combined) - consists of 300 members who serve 4-yr terms & are at least 30 years old. duties consist of:

1) 정부 예산을 확인하다 | confirm the goverment budget

2) 헌법을 개정하다 | amend the constitution

3) 법을 가결하고 개정하다 | pass and amend laws

4) 조약을 비준하다 | ratify treaties
