보통 타르트 하나에 바나나 하나 이랗게 먹는데 말임돠 ..

이거 코트코에서 싼맛에 한덩이씩 사다가 먹는데 말임돠

이게 어느날부터 바나나맛이 아니고 무우맛이 나더라 이검돠

심지어 이렇게 누렇게 되어도 뻣뻣한 과육에 변치않는 무우맛 .. 떱데기는 또 왜그렇게 두꺼운지 .

그래서 이잰 바나나 그만 먹어야겠다 싶었는데 주님 주시는 말씀 ..

" 야 그거 구워봐 구워먹는거야 .. "

잉 .? 진짜요..?

그래서 타르트 구우며 궈봤슴돠 ...

오호 이게 구우니까 좀 낫구만요 ㅎㅎㅎ

When you want to give more than one option or suggestion, in English we use the word 'OR'

In Korean there are a number of ways of contrasting and offering multiple options, but this grammar note focuses solely on the simple way of saying 'OR' - though sometimes it can get a bit confusing....

-(이)나 is used for NOUNS AND ADJECTIVES

If you want to suggest more than one object you can use -(이)나. You attach -(이)나 in between each noun. You use -이나 if the word you are attaching to ends in a consonant and you use just -나 if it ends with a vowel:

비빔밥이나 김치전을 먹고 싶어요 - I want to eat Bibimbap or Kimchi pancake

국장이나 공원이나 백화점에 만날까요? - Should we meet at the movie theater or park or department store?

바나나맛 우유나 사이더를 사 줄게요! I will buy you a banana milk or cider!

The same rules apply if you are using it for adjectives

이 음식이 맛있이나 맛없다고 생각하요? Do you think this food is delicious or tasteless?

너는 빨리나 천천히 걸어요? Do you walk quickly or slowly?

-거나 is used for VERBS

Korean is so extra so you can't use (이)나 all the time UNFORTUNATELY. So when you want to offer a choice or option of more than one ACTION, you can only use -거나. Luckily you can use -거나 regardless of the type of verb that comes before it

오늘 쇼핑하거나 영화를 볼까요? - Shall we go shopping or watch a movie today?

제가 먼저 방을 청소하거나 샤워를 할거예요 - First, I will clean my room or take a shower.

Korea’s Most Popular Snacks

Ok, so the first thing I want to clarify to you all is this; THIS BLOG POST IS BASED ON MINE AND THE OPINIONS OF MY FRIENDS THAT I ASKED FOR RESEARCH. Over the past ten days I’ve been going to different convenience stores and supermarkets at the end of each day to see which products where mostly gone therefore indicating popularity, as well as surveying my friends choices and my own personal opinion on korean snacks ( my preferences). So if you don’t agree with some of the things in here, I’m sorry but thank u, next.

Anyways, let’s get started then~

Snacks in Korea are so different from what you’re probably used to. Unless you grew up in Korea or Japan, you’re not gonna be used to the taste of these sweets/ ice creams/ chips. I’ve found some of the weirdest things in Korea regarding snacks and everything I was used to back home doesn’t really exist here. I can sort of understand some people losing interest in snacks once they’ve lived in Korea a while due to the fact that maybe they lost interest while not eating them in Korea because they didn’t like the taste compared to back home in their own countries, I can relate to that.

Though you can get things like haribo’s or pringles here, it’s imported usually and higher priced that what foreigners are used to, so I don’t typically buy them, nor do Koreans that often too.

So here’s my top ten gathered list of the most popular KOREAN snacks:

1) ChocoPie ( 초코파이)

Chocopie is basically just a dry cake covered with chocolate with marshmallow cream in the middle. Personally I don’t like it, but Koreans seem to as it’s pretty popular and a lot of my foreigner friends do too ( though I personally don’t like korean chocolate cause it tastes like rubber to me so this is covered in it and it’s also too dry to me). It’s pretty popular, and there’s the on going debate on whether to eat Lotte’s chocopie or Orion’s Chocopie, but so far I’ve gathered that Orion is more popular in my friendship group so I added a picture of it here~

2) 돼지바

돼지바 basically translates to Pig Bar but it’s not what it sounds like. It’s basically an ice cream lolly covered in peanut chocolate with a strawberry centre. I actually don’t hate it, but I’m not a huge fan either. It’s pretty popular with middle school and high school kids though, and it’s produced by Lotte as a lot of korean snacks are.

3) 초코송이

초코송이 is another chocolate snack that’s like pocky/빼빼로 in taste, but is shaped like a mushroom and really popular with elementary students ( but sometimes I eat it too!)

4) 빼빼로

빼빼로 a.k.a pepero is extremely popular in South Korea. It’s the korean version of Pocky and comes in so many varieties of flavour that’s it’s crazy to keep up with ( even having seasonal flavours, like candy cane for Christmas or pumpkin for Halloween). 빼빼로 is so popular in Korea that they even made 빼빼로데이 ( Pepero Day) which is like another Valentine’s Day but instead of chocolates or flowers you exchange 빼빼로 with your lover or friends with a cute message on it as a sign of your love for them. It’s gotten bigger and bigger over the years and I’ve even participated two years in a row now, this year with my lover too ( ahhhhhh)

5) 허니버터칩

Honey Butter Chip is exactly what it sounds like, it’s chips that taste like honey butter. Maybe that’s totally weird sounding to you guys, and it was for me at first, but then I finally tried them, and wow it changed my world, and sometimes I even find myself craving them. I always see my korean friends eating them and they’re pretty popular too, even having seasonal flavours added to it like 빼빼로 does.

6) 바나나맛 우유

So ok, let me explain THIS.

This is probably the most popular snack in Korea. I’m literally not joking. 바나나맛 우유 is basically just banana milk in a little cute container, but Korean’s go nuts for this shit, and have all different flavours too like strawberry ( I prefer that one), coffee, orange, honey, etc. But banana is by far the favourite and by the end of the working day at 7/11 or CU25 the banana milks are always almost gone. A lot of people like to drink them in the morning to wake themselves up with the sugar instead of coffee or tea, or after eating spicy food you drink these. Many you want to sober up after drinking, or you can give it to your child as dressed after dinner. It’s used in all these ways and more and is, without a doubt, the most popular item on this list.

7) 김 ( Seaweed)

So, you’re probably thinking “ what the actual fuck?” Well my child, let me explain. Seaweed is actually a huge rage in eastern countries of Asia, especially japan and Korea. They dry the seaweed and put it into little packs to eat as a snack. It’s pretty good, and I watch a lot of my friends eat it with microwave rice and pre packaged 김치 as a afternoon snack between classes.

8) 라면 ( Ramen)

Ramen is so fucking popular in Korea, this shit is legit crazy. In Britain, we have like two types of ramen but here it’s like they have two hundred types and there’s always more coming out. The stand out ones that most people eat are usually 진라면, 불닭볶음면, 새우탕 & 신라면. If you go to a convenience store here, you’ll often see business men or high schoolers/ college students eating ramen with 김치, rice, 김, other side dishes and 바나나맛 우유 as a cheap snack during their off times.

9) 오징어 땅콩

오징어 땅콩 are squid flavoured peanut ball chips that people typically eat alongside alcohol when at a party/ bar/ or at 노래방 ( karaoke room). It’s not typically just eaten along but it’s pretty popular for drinking and it’s not usually eaten by the younger generation but more college students and businessmen. Same can be said for the chips 새우깡

10) 포카칩

포카칩 is another type of chips that are famous in Korea, and they come in all different flavours like plain, onion, etc.
