Some beautiful calligraphy and a chance to build on yesterday! It says 駐車嚴禁 [ちゅうしゃ げんきん]. Can you figure out what it means?

駐 is always read チュウ. It means stop-over, resident, or stationed, but also very commonly refers to parking. 駐輪 [ちゅうりん] is to park a bike, for example.

車, as we covered yesterday, is read くるま or シャ. It means car or vehicle. You've probably deduced that 駐車 [ちゅうしゃ] means to park a car.

嚴, as beautiful as it is, you are unlikely to see very often; it's an archaic form of 厳. Remember that the radical ⺍, or the ツ crown, can also be a double box 吅!

Anyway, 厳 or 嚴 means strict, severe, or rigid. The big readings are きび.しい, ゲン, and ゴン, but for bonus points, try to remember おごそ.か, いか.めしい, and いつくし.

禁, as we also covered yesterday, means forbid, ban, or prohibit. It's always read キン. Vocab to remember includes 禁止 [きんし] prohibited, and today's word: 厳禁 [げんきん] strictly prohibited.

Putting it all together, 駐車厳禁 [ちゅうしゃ げんきん] means parking strictly prohibited, or no parking! Did you get it?

「某宅駐車場の落書き」

なかなかに「やった感」溢れる、落書きだわね。おそらく某宅のお子さんだと思うのですが。

算数は、かろうじてわかるけど、ちょっとした「カオス」。ひらがなと線と枠、、、、、

これ「意味」をなくしていったら、かなり面白い絵図になりそう。

It's a graffiti that really gives you a feeling of accomplishment. I think it's probably a child from a certain family. I can barely understand arithmetic, but it's a bit chaotic. Hiragana, lines and frames... If you remove the ``meaning'' from this, I think it will become a very interesting picture.

会場から車に乗るまでにはあった駐車券🎟️を父親が失くし

車内やポケットを大捜索で結局見つからず

スタッフさんが中の人と連携とってくれて

無事にゲート開けてもらえたんだけど

次の日車の中の足元に裏返って見つかった

裏面真っ黒だから見つけられなかったみたい

駐車券なんて普通持って帰って来れないもんね

記念に取っておこう😜💓
