Tokyo Mew Mew Manga Returns with Male Main Characters

Manga illustrator Madoka Seizuki has started posting main character visuals from her new serialization work Tokyo Mew Mew Au Lait! on her official Twitter. It is expected to be a male character-featured spin-off to the Tokyo Mew Mew manga series in the early 2000s.

  The original Tokyo Mew Mew manga written by Reiko Yoshida and illustrated by Mai Ikumi was serialized in Kodansha's monthly shoujo manga magazine Nakayoshi from September 2000 to February 2003, then compiled in seven tankobon volumes.

  According to Seizuki's posts, Tokyo Mew Mew Au Lait! is based on Kodansha's original story and features five boys instead of the original's five girls. It also has a heroine character, who will not be introduced in the ongoing Twitter countdown. It will start serialization in Nakayoshi's next January 2020 issue to be released in Japan on November 30.

  The magazine's official website has released no information about the manga, but at least its official Twitter has retweeted Seizuki's posts (so we can consider her announcements have been officially approved by the publisher).
