In the 13th annual Freshmusic 音樂誌 awards results, I saw this combination of YELLOW and 范曉萱 Mavis Fan, the song and MV have a fun old time jazzy vibe. Just a wonderful effort by all involved!   =D

Perfect way to begin a Sunday!  Something jazzy & mellow from the new 3-song ep 太安靜 (Too Quiet) by 阿丹 Dan Hsueh (薛詒丹)  =D

These guys do a lot of freelance playing/recording, and are in various ensembles around TW. Wico & Dan are a duo; Marcus & Devlin are both in the bands YELLOW and Rhythm Market.  Marcus & Wico have both backed up Elisa Lin 林依霖. Chun-lin & Wico were both members of SilkWood 絲木. Chun-lin is a support musician for 二本貓 UrbanCat (he’s playing on their new ep, check out the preview at YT!) Dan is in the a cappella group Moment Singers.

Some mellow covers for a gloomy Monday...  =)

First, a sibling duo we have featured before – this is The Macarons Project.  Ree (Hubertine Paramagita) & Dito (Eduardus Pradipto) from Indonesia, now living in Vancouver, Canada.  They’re covering Bizarre Love Triangle, originally by New Order. 

Next up, 阿丹 Dan Hsueh (薛詒丹) covering a song by Swedish singer/songwriter Snoh Aalegra (See her original HERE)

This unit is going by the name JUST TAKE 5: Dan Hsueh-voc, 小畢 Wico Weng (翁光煒)-gtr, 小陳 陳彥丞 Devlin Chen-drums, 曹瑋 Marcus Tsao-bass, S.K. (郭俊麟 Chun-lin Kuo)-Keys.  I think this cover was something they did while being assembled for a recording project/live rehearsals. (You can watch Just Take 5 playing a Dan Hsueh original song at Dan’s YT channel.)
