Gojo Satoru wakes up to a blade at his throat and one of the most gorgeous faces he’s ever seen hovering a mere meter above him.

“Don’t move.” Oh, that gorgeous face has an equally gorgeous voice to accompany it. “I don’t want to hurt you.”

Satoru can’t help smirking. He raises an eyebrow and looks pointedly towards his chin and how he isn’t exactly at will to move it. He goes back to looking at his nighttime visitor’s face, just in time to watch their nose crinkle and oh, Satoru never thought a nose could look cute before.

In his head, a voice that sounds suspiciously like Suguru berates him. Not now, Satoru. There’s a part of him, albeit small, that’s tempted to brush it off like he does the real Suguru, but even Satoru can realize when he’s in a dangerous situation. In the minute or so that Satoru has been staring at him, the person poised above him has not wavered once, his green eyes boring into Satoru steady and sharp; this man is no stranger to threatening someone. That, coupled with the apparent ease he bypassed Satoru’s guards with and the peculiar insignia on his shoulder, and Satoru can piece together well enough who is threatening the king of the Gojo Empire – one of the assassins the Zenin are so infamous for, their so-called Shadows.

“Are you here to kill me?”

The man’s head shifts slightly to the side, a movement so minuscule Satoru likely wouldn’t have noticed if it weren’t for their proximity.

“I don’t want to hurt you.”

“Funny way of showing that,” Satoru says. “What with the knife at my neck and all.” He is all too aware that the man didn’t say no to killing him.

“I have a proposition for you.”

Satoru very seriously considers smiling and crooning out how he’s all too willing to have this utter beauty propositioning him, because he’s a self-proclaimed menace and he isn’t blind thank you very much, when the man opens his mouth and says the sentence that will change Satoru’s life.

“I can help you kill the Zenin.”
