Attention had been fixated upon his plate of food – a warm meal so much nicer than the cold rations they had on-board the Going Merry. It was the first time in a while the Straw Hats were able to stop at a nearby port for a few nights ... they were certainly making use of it!

Luffy had vaguely paid attention to the areas of the bar his crew had dispersed to, enough to feel at ease being left alone. They would check up on him throughout the evening anyways ( if he didn't find them first! )

With his mind settled and stomach rumbling, Luffy had begun to tuck into his meal, barely aware of somebody sliding into the booth next to him. That was, until fingers ghosted over his hair, pulling something from the mess of dark curls.

The captain paused mid-bite. Cheeks full as his gaze slowly shifts to the person beside him. He blinks – once, twice – before noticing what they held in their hand. Luffy rushed to finish his bite, cheeks barely dusted pink ( easy to miss in the low lighting, much to the young man's luck )

"Oh geez, was that in my hair? " Hands lift, fingers skimming over the rest of his curls. It must have been covered by his hat, which now hung from his neck.

"Oops," Luffy's hands dropped back to his lap, grin slipping onto his face. "I hope that hasn't been there all day! Thanks for getting it out – do you want some of my food? As a thank you!" The pirate pushed the plate towards her.
