˚₊‧꒰ა . — ˗ˏˋ ✮ ˎˊ˗ — ˖ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ —— "listen, i'm telling you that the character you pick to play in mario kart is actually way more informative than the mbti test," minsi insists. sure there's no science behind it, but there isn't exactly any science behind the mbti test either ! "i pick princess peach every single time. don't you think you understand me better knowing that information?"

˚₊‧꒰ა . — ˗ˏˋ ✮ ˎˊ˗ — ˖ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ —— minsi laughed, shaking her head and holding up a hand defensively as gaeun took her other hand. “okay, okay, no don’t put me on the spot like that with the tiktok trends!" she protested. she let herself get pulled onto the rooftop ‘dance floor’ ( the space that had clearly been left open for people to dance if they wanted to. ) she recognised the song that played over the speakers, and immediately started replicating the dance moves she’d practiced while listening to kpop by herself in her bedroom. she moved to the music with a bit more confidence than her slightly tipsy state probably warranted, throwing in spins and exaggerated moves that made her laugh as much as dance. even with the drinks buzzing through her system, her movements weren’t bad. if she wasn't hellbent on playing video games for a living, she would have made a decent dancer. “see? not awful, right?” she teased, grabbing gaeun and spinning her around before pulling her in, loosely wrapping her arms around her waist, “if nothing else, we’ll at least be the most entertaining ones here. maybe we’ll win an award…”
" don't put words into my mouth, minsi ! " gaeun giggles in response. infectious energy between them all too prominent especially with the tasty, bubbly drinks that were currently circulating throughout her blood. " well then show me the latest tiktok trends if you're so knowledgeable about them. name one and do it ! " gaeun nods and slips her hand into minsi's totally intent on tearing up the dance floor, or well the rooftop floor. " everyone will see our energy and i'm sure that will outshine any bad dancing. "

gye minsi ( 계 민시 ) | 99’ | lesbian | cis woman | she/her | video game streamer
choi yena, lesbian, cis female, she/her. ♡ now entering the apartment building is gye minsi, a twenty-five year old who is currently a gamer / streamer. netizens have said they seem like a sore loser but others have said they’re energetic ! gossip aside, we’re sure they’re bound to be a fan favorite !
goes by the online alias 원덕 ‘wunderduck’ – in turn, any duck related nicknames are common + welcome.
born + raised in korea. speaks korean fluently (although some people say she has a babyish tone to her voice – she’s easily mocked for this.) she also speaks a very small amount of japanese that she taught herself through watching anime and duolingo.
background
minsi was born prematurely after her mother struggled with infertility. she was considered a "miracle" pregnancy. frequent illness as a child had her mother fearing for her life, but one day she seemed to just bounce back, full of life, as if nothing was ever wrong with her. medical professionals were surprised with her energy and resilience. her father resented her for not being the son he always wanted, leading to a cold and distant relationship. her mother loved and cared for her, but she couldn’t express it to the best of her ability, as her father also resented her for not being able to give him another child, so tension was constantly heavy throughout the whole household. minsi grew up constantly seeking validation from her father and peers, but her overly-emotional nature made it difficult to make lasting friendships. desperate and eager to be liked, minsi often pushed people away by trying too hard, leaving her isolated and often bullied in school. video games became her refuge from a young age, a place where she could connect with others without needing to win approval. even though she still struggled to make friends online, it was much easier to deal with the rejection than in-person. after graduating school, she found it hard to land a meaningful job, drifting from one part-time gig to another while feeling increasingly lost. streaming video games casually with friends led to unexpected attention due to her cute, energetic, and slightly comedic personality. realizing she could turn streaming into a career, minsi became more focused on building her online presence. despite being unapologetically and loudly gay, she still struggles to make meaningful real-life connections due to societal expectations and her own insecurities. minsi saw the show as a chance to connect with others and gain exposure for her streaming career. she hopes to make real friendships and show her true self to the world.
personality:
minsi is outgoing and energetic, often the life of the party in social situations. despite being a huge nerd, she actually loves going to parties and clubs. ( she loves energetic pop music + loves to dance. ) she’s extremely emotional and wears her heart on her sleeve, sometimes leading to outbursts or oversharing. she sometimes doesn’t pick up on social cues very well. minsi desperately seeks validation and approval, sometimes trying too hard to make people like her, or to make herself seem more impressive than she actually is. this can sometimes push people away, as she can be a ‘little too much’ she’s very comedic and light-hearted, often using humour as a way to connect with others or deflect her insecurities. despite societal expectations, she is bold and unapologetically herself, especially when it comes to her sexuality. she really struggles with making deeper connections despite her outgoing nature, often feeling like an outsider. because of this she is extremely sensitive to rejection and easily hurt when others don’t reciprocate her efforts to connect. optimistic and determined, especially when it comes to her streaming career, she refuses to give up despite setbacks. she can be impulsive, acting on emotions rather than thinking things through. she doesn’t really think about consequences as long as she’s having fun. deep down, craves acceptance and belonging, but hides her vulnerability behind a loud and confident persona.
relationships
minsi has never been in a serious relationship before, as she’s never truly connected with anyone on a deep enough level to get there. despite her lack of relationship experience, she is flirty, fun, and enjoys showing off to girls, especially in social settings. ( however, she’s not interested in casual hookups, she prefers meaningful connections over one-night stands.) identifies as a switch, but her main desire is to please her partner, no matter what role she takes in the dynamic. she’s very flexible. (in more ways than one lololol ) she loves the thrill of flirting and teasing but ultimately craves emotional intimacy and a deeper connection.
wanted connections
romantic;
enemies to lovers ?? (jk) ; someone who is kind of the opposite of her, a little more low energy, a little more confrontational and possibly mean. they find her annoying at first, there's lots of sexual tension, and eventually they warm up to her. ( i'll give you my soul if you apply as kim hyungseo (bibi) for this connection bc i think she'd fit so well lmfao )
unrequited crush ; they have a crush on minsi, perhaps she doesn't even realise how serious it is and so she flirts back and ends up giving them mixed signals and hurting their feelings :(
platonic;
player 2 ; minsi’s go-to gaming partner, someone she spends hours with, both streaming and playing for fun. they have an easy, playful bond, they tease each other a lot and are probably a little bit competitive with one another.
the big sister she never had ; someone who sees minsi’s weaknesses and takes her under their wing, looking out for her when she gets herself into social trouble. they might have a kind of tough love approach but ultimately care deeply for her well-being, helping her navigate things without getting too caught up in seeking validation from others

˚₊‧꒰ა . — ˗ˏˋ ✮ ˎˊ˗ — ˖ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ —— minsi looked up from her laptop, pausing her own game as she saw ayame standing in the doorway, nintendo in hand and looking utterly defeated. she couldn’t help the slight smile that crept onto her face as she caught the frustration in ayame’s expression. of course she didn’t take pleasure in her roommates frustration - but she did enjoy when people had to ask her for help. it made her feel useful. “stuck?” she asks, sitting up and patting the spot next to her on the bed. “you came to the right person. i’m pretty great.” there was a playful confidence in her tone, even though the truth was that she was decently good, but definitely not great. “let me see what you’re working with. i’ve probably beaten this level a hundred times.” she takes the switch from the other girl, inspecting the level. “some of the zelda puzzles can be really hard… when i was little i had a book that told me how to get through the hard levels. nowadays all you need to do is pick up your phone and look up a walkthrough. that’s crazy, huh?” she fiddled with the joysticks and took a moment to examine the dungeon, “okay, i see the problem. timing is everything here... but don’t worry, i’ve got this. do you normally play action-adventure games? i like games that have puzzles, it makes me feel smart.” or dumb, depending on the game. but she wouldn’t admit that.
⋆。‧˚ ––– starter for @wickcdlove / gye minsi
it had been hard to focus on anything, and ayame wondered if the entire thing had been a good idea after all. of course, it was exciting, and she was looking forward to it, but now that she had been laying in her bed, trying to unwind with her nintendo in hand – she just couldn't. it seemed like the blonde guy with the green hat and pointed ears was laughing at her through the screen as she had attempted the same puzzle a million times. she just couldn't get the timing right. she let out a frustrated sigh, arms sprawled away from her body, staring up at the ceiling.
at least she knew exactly what to do next. she had noticed her roommate, obviously, had to be good at games – as it seemed to be like a major hobby. the other had been more than welcoming, and it had made ayame's nerves calm down a bit. it didn't take long for ayame to make her way over to the other's room, peering through the door. it was late, but not too late; and ayame felt relief when she had noticed her roommate was indeed still awake. “ hey minsi– ”, she started, carefully as to not startle the other. “ you're good at games, right? i am so horribly stuck. ”, she said while waving her nintendo in the air, ready to just toss the entire thing. “ do you mind helping me with this level? ", ayame asked, hoping the other would comply with her request.

˚₊‧꒰ა . — ˗ˏˋ ✮ ˎˊ˗ — ˖ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ —— “while i think that true introverts and extroverts exist, i think so many people are more than just one or the other… people are so complex, really. if it were that easy to do a test and get your personality written out for you, i’d be able to understand people a lot better…” of course there was no way to truly understand other people, other than getting to know them honestly – and that was something that minsi hadn’t really had experience with. her expression was slightly solemn for a moment before she perked back up. “and, no, i wouldn’t think less of you for picking hot girls in games… i’ve done it myself a couple… hundred times. we’re only human, after all. i think daisy would absolutely take you back. you’ve just gotta show her you’re serious this time,” she jested.
" like some people think they're ambiverts instead of just introverted or extroverted. not to mention some people have taken the test at different times in their lives and end up with new results. " truthfully she wasn't even certain of her own results these days. xinyue chuckles, shrugging her shoulders, " what ? would you think less of me if i said i did ? " there was nothing wrong in her mind picking hot girls in games. " you think so ? do you think daisy would take me back i chose to play her again ? "

˚₊‧꒰ა . — ˗ˏˋ ✮ ˎˊ˗ — ˖ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ —— minsi’s face lit up at honey’s comment, “aww, stop it, you’ll make me blush!” she tucked her own hair behind her ear in a mirrored gesture. “i like to think i’ve got that sweet, optimistic thing going on… but i do think that princess peach has fiery side to her too, which i can relate to.” toad made a lot of sense for honey, small and cute with a big personality, and like she said – a lot of heart. that was honey for sure. minsi didn’t know her all that well, but that much she could tell. “definitely toad – not surprising at all. but in saying that, don’t try to out-race me with toad, i’ll still come out on top.”
honey laughed softly, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear as she tilted her head to the side. "wait you're so right—," she hummed, a wide grin spreading across her face. "princess peach is the sweetest, most optimistic character in the game, and that does feel pretty on brand for you, minsi." she paused, thinking about it for a moment, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "i always pick toad. he’s small, but he’s got so much heart. i think that says something, right?" ୨୧

˚₊‧꒰ა . — ˗ˏˋ ✮ ˎˊ˗ — ˖ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ —— “it’s very popular here, people listen to it like it’s law… but i’m on the same page as you. there were too many words, and when i tried reading them i felt like everything was too much of a generalisation. i think you could relate to almost any of the types if you wanted to,” she said. minsi laughed, shaking her head with a playful grin. “i knew it. i had you pegged as either a king boo or a bowser kind of girl from the start. i was thiiiis close,” she said, holding her thumb and index finger barely apart, her eyes twinkling with amusement. “as for peach, she’s an independent feminist icon, how could i not ! she’s more than just a princess, she shows up and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. i love her.”
"Honestly, I don't even understand the mbti test. I know it's super popular here compared to America. I actually only did it for the first time applying for seoulmates, so I know I'm istp, but the descriptions of each type had way too many words for me to read." Soo said with a laugh. There were a lot of things that people talked about all the time in South Korea that Soo knew about, but didn't understand. However, Mario Kart was something Soo had experience with, so she was actually able to understand what Minsi meant completely. "Oh honey I could tell you picked Peach from a mile away." She proclaimed with a grin, "I pick King Boo, do you understand me better with that information?"

˚₊‧꒰ა . — ˗ˏˋ ✮ ˎˊ˗ — ˖ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ —— minsi curses under her breath, "waluigi? seriously? that would have been my second guess. waluigi is also pretty popular on the competitive scene, i suppose," she leans back, crossing her arms over her chest, "but, okay, i kinda see the resemblance. you’re kinda like a hot genderbent waluigi. i may have underestimated your taste this time, but next time i’ll nail it for sure. especially now that i have that information."
"Exactly, that's my biggest issue with test. It can even change depending on the time of the day, not even just from one day to the next; you can get different results in the very same day - but I always go back to the same characters in games, so that feels more scientifically backed to me," Kitty grinned. "Yoshi?" Her smile was wide and filled with amusement. "I'll give you half a point, because Yoshi was always my go-to growing up, but it's actually Waluigi," she told Minsi. "I mean, look at me," she shrugged in order to gesture to her own body, "he looks like he could be my dad or something, don't you see the resemblance?"

˚₊‧꒰ა . — ˗ˏˋ ✮ ˎˊ˗ — ˖ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ —— minsi nodded, her face lighting up at kitty’s words. “right? i feel like analysing someone based off of the video game character they pick is so much better,” she scoffed, leaning back a little. “i mean, the questions on the mbti test, the answers are gonna change from day to day. but the character roster is always going to be the same – you’re always going to pick that one character for one reason or another.” she looked kitty up and down thoughtfully, before grinning. “you? yoshi, no question. you seem like the type to know the current meta - and yoshi is a popular choice at the moment.” minsi smiled, clearly pleased with her analysis.
"I'm listening, I'm listening, and I'm totally agreeing with you," Kitty nodded her head, as if her company was speaking the most true and obvious fact in the world. "Honestly, I couldn't care less about MBTI shit," her voice dropped to a hushed tone, as if the founders of such test would hunt her down and break her knee caps if they heard her say anything of the sort, "but I always judge someone on their choice of character - in any game, not just Mario." Now this was the most true and obvious fact in the world for anyone who had ever met Kitty. "You strike me as a Princess Peach girlie, I think that makes a lot of sense for you." She suddenly sat more upright, as if a pressing matter had crossed her mind. "Who d'you think I pick?" She asked curiously.

˚₊‧꒰ა . — ˗ˏˋ ✮ ˎˊ˗ — ˖ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ —— “mhm – and i see so many times that it changes when people take the test. one day someone might feel more introverted, the next a little more extroverted. but you know what withstands the test of time? a mario kart main,” she nodded as though it were a fact. to minsi it might as well have been. “daisy to rosalina? oh i get what type of player you are… you just pick the hot girls, don’t you?” she eyed her suspiciously. “you give me daisy vibes above rosalina, i can tell you’re still a daisy girl in your heart.”
" isn't there like only sixteen mbti personality types right, compared to like thirty some possible choices for a mario kart main. " it seemed so limiting, just sixteen choices for all the ways that people could be different than one another, " it's so limiting actually. " that system likely needed an update by now but she highly doubted that would happen, " i chose daisy for the longest time, but then something flipped in me and i haven't been able to not use rosalina since she first came out. call me a traitor to my girl daisy if you must. ˚₊‧꒰ა . — ˗ˏˋ ✮ ˎˊ˗ — ˖ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ —— "see - i feel like we know each other better already," she playfully nudged loren with her elbow. the last time minsi had taken the test she had unsurprisingly ended up with the enfp result, "a lot of people think i'm a yoshi girl, but yoshi is my second choice. he's a kind of ride-or-die companion, and i like that about him. i had a feeling that's the kind of person you were too."
"i always said the mbti test is outdated," loren enthused, since it seemed there had been a deeper meaning to it rather than just picking an animated character. it always seemed to reflect one's personality. "oh, that definitely says all i need to know," her lips quirked into a slightly teasing grin. "i'm more of a yoshi girl myself."

˚₊‧꒰ა . — ˗ˏˋ ✮ ˎˊ˗ — ˖ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ —— minsi raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk creeping onto her face. "bad dancer? me? no way," she couldn’t believe the insinuation – how dare gaeun doubt her like that ! "i keep up with all the latest pop dance trends on tiktok. you’re the one who might have a hard time keeping up with me." she took a slightly swaying step closer to gaeun, holding out her hand. perhaps she wouldn’t be at the top of her game after so many drinks – but her confidence didn’t waver. "but hey, if you’re cool with me making you look bad, let’s do this."
open starter : @seoulmatestart location : rooftop garden / event 001 reply cap : 6 muses
truthfully gaeun wasn't much of a drinker, it wasn't something that she had time to indulge in with her often busy schedule. but with things changing since her injury and signing up for seoulmates, she didn't see why she couldn't have a few. at this point gaeun was probably two deep, some kind of fruity drinks that were very tasty and not at all what a lightweight like her was used to. she felt good and this was supposed to be a party right? " there's music but no one is dancing. i think the producers would love it if they got some of us dancing during the party, right ? " but she couldn't dance alone, no it would took at least two to dance. " i won't laugh if you're a bad dancer, i promise. "
