Holly had always loved villains. They were much more complex and fun than the heroes. That was likely why she fit in with the Rogues so well. She walked around the Costume Gala in her designer black gown, Louboutins, and a synthetic dalmation coat---she loved expensive things, but she wasn’t a monster. Holly poured herself a cup of punch and leaned against the wall, watching the party and swaying slightly to the music. She wasn’t one to mingle. Besides, she was scoping out the crowd, looking for any weaknesses in ladies' purses and men’s pockets. She picked the pocket of a guest walking by and whistled at the cash in their wallet. Holly looked to her left and saw someone staring. “What? It’s charity.”

The words were like a slap to the face and Holly took in a sharp breathe in response. Half of her was glad that Mike didn’t care about her anymore. She had really done a number on him after Rose had shattered her heart. But Holly had felt something for him, once. She still cared about him somewhere deep in her heart. Instead of being nice, Holly resorted to sarcasm. As always. “Oh, ouch. You really hit me hard with that one, Mike.” She said, glaring.

“You have to work for the real deal, honey.” Holly laughed as she took the bottle from his hand and took a drink. “Ugh. They could have sprung for the good stuff at least.” She said, wrinkling her nose in distaste. “Thanks for inviting me to your show. I always liked magic shows as a kid, but it kind of takes the magic it out of it when you know it really is magic. You know?” She said, taking another swig. “Did that even make sense?” Holly laughed.

Holly tilted her head at him, looking at him for a moment, and then nodded. “They were trying to screw you.” She said, the words definite. “Not that you aren’t completely mesmerizing, darling. Because you are. But they were definitely trying to get into your pants.” She laughed. She hadn’t meant to date---in the absolute loosest sense of the word--- Zach for so long, but here they were. In a semi-casual, semi-serious thing.

Holly gave Thorn an exasperated look. “Can’t a girl play around? Everyone thinks I’ve caught feelings.” She pouted. Maybe it was true, maybe it wasn’t. She smirked at her question. “If he’s lucky, maybe. What about you? Do you have anyone on your hook right now?”

Holly laughed out loud, an entirely playful sound. “Oh, you really aren’t any fun at all, are you?” She said with a teasing tone. She had a feeling she wouldn’t be able to break him. “What’s your name, Mr. Serious?” The woman asked as she scanned his body for a badge anywhere. No, his eyes still had the light in them, he couldn’t be GCPD.
