Risk It All (1) - Tokyo Is Broken.

A/N: Please interact it means a lot especially when writers take hours planning and developing story lines . I won’t be going 100% on how it happened in the show or the manga such as the changes to the game of tag they will not be huge changes at all but I will be including all of the characters and their personalities will remain the same. Let me know some ideas you’d like to see and maybe I’ll put it in the story! There may at some point be smut but not for a long time and I will post warnings beforehand. 🥹🫶🏼THANKYOU 🫶🏼🥹

Masterlist | Ch. 2

Everything was silent which was strange considering your apartment was next to Shibuya crossing. You peered out of the open window seeing nothing but a dark city. You've never seen Tokyo this dark or quiet it carried an eerie feeling but you brushed it off after all there had been a storm a few hours earlier and it wasn't unusual for the streets to be bare. 

You grabbed a black zip-up jacket with a hood, an umbrella and a flashlight.  You exited your apartment and took the stairs, if the power is off the elevators won't work. As you opened the door to the stairwell you noticed that no one else had taken them which left you questioning your earlier thought about the power. Maybe it wasn't affecting anyone else? 

You switch the flashlight on and At a quickened pace you take the steps. When you finally reach the bottom you step outside, the door to the stairwell had been removed a few weeks earlier for a renovation. You weren't the type to complain about small things such as that after all, it didn't impact your life in any way. However, at this moment you wished that door would be there to stop you from facing what is right in front of you. 

The streets were bare, the wind blowing but no rain. You take a glance at the umbrella in your hand. 

Stupid.

The power cuts and I choose an umbrella? You sigh placing it down on the stairs behind you along with the flashlight before venturing further out into the street, you reach the crossing and see a flash of light in the sky, it's the only light you've seen so far and although every hair on your body raised and your feet told you to run, you walked towards it. 

You take note of everything around you as you always had done, your friends would always complain and tell you that you thought too hard but it never hurts to be prepared. You begin to panic internally when you pass a few streets and still no one. As of right now, the light in the sky is the only hope you hold and it's a hope you cling to.

As you approach the building you see the lights are on, the only lights in Tokyo. You rush inside the building against your better judgement to be met with 7 people you've never seen before but at this moment you've never been happy to see a person. Even if you didn't know them. 

You pick up one of the phones from the table in front of you hoping it has some use, the screen illuminates and it isn't anything as you'd hoped. The small screen scans your face before a cheerful voice declares that you have been verified. 

You turn to the other individuals in the room focusing on the two boys huddled together. 

"What is this?" your voice breaks as you fake confidence. 

The two boys turn to you and you wait patiently hoping for some kind of response. The boy in the orange shirt doesn't seem happy when his friend replies. "It's a game, you have to clear the mission and stay alive" he pauses before continuing "I'm Arisu, this is Karube."

He gestures to his friend and you smile sheepishly, your mind fills with questions, however, before you can ask another the same cheery voice makes it clear that the Registration period had closed. The phone flashes and you read it over, confused by every word. 

Game: Tag 

Difficulty: 5 of spades 

Rule: Run away from the tagger 

Clear condition: find the safe zone hidden within the building within the time limit. 

Time limit: 20 minutes 

After 20 min the bomb inside the building will detonate.

You follow Arisu to the elevator and decide to make use of the few moments you'll have to gather information. 

"What is this place, where is everyone, what's this game?" 

There is a slight chuckle behind you and you turn to face the boy behind you, he was wearing a white jacket similar to yours. His hair was light blonde and he was short and slender, you couldn't see his face well and he seemed to have been in his own world.

As interesting as he may have seemed you knew you didn't have time to think about him as Arisu had begun to answer your questions. 

"It's Tokyo, there are some people here but not many. We have to play games to survive you'll get a visa if you win which means you don't have to play for a few days but if you die then you're gone. We have to hide and don't get caught by the tagger. We have to find a safe zone. When you find it gets to it as fast as you can" 

You had answers yet you still felt as confused as the moment you got here. The elevator door opens and Arisu looks back at you.

"Stay alive" he turns his head and runs up the stairs with his friend following behind him. 

You know you need to do the same, you take the stairs to the top floor, it's either a really smart decision or a really stupid one. It could be where the taggers will start but if they start on the ground floor it would take them much longer to get to you. 

You watch as the next 5 minutes are filled with bloodshed. You weren't surprised at the sight of a dead body but you couldn't help but wince every time you hear a gunshot. However, you were surprised when people started shouting about their location, they were working together. 

Working so we can all live, at least those of us that are still alive. 

Just a few feet away the blonde-haired boy who laughed in the elevator stood casually watching the game, although it was nothing more than a movie. 

You begin to wonder how someone can become so calm, how long has he been here? How long will I be here? You took a breath and headed towards him, you couldn't worry about what will happen, you had to survive now. Besides, he was so calm, he had to know something. 

"You're not participating" you speak so quietly you can barely make it out.

You were too afraid to make a sound, too afraid to get caught.  

"I'm watching" he replies in a voice that is all too cheery, similar to that of the voice from the phone.

Nothing and no one should be laughing in a place like this.  

You glance over at a girl jumping from level to level as if it was a normal ability for every human, you'd hope everyone here would survive but the reality wasn't as kind. Although death wasn't something you were afraid to witness it wasn't something you wished for others or yourself. 

You sigh and walk away to your previous position, he wasn't going to talk, at least not here. Truth-seeking would have to wait, instead, you begin to look for the safe zone, everyone else was risking their lives to hide from the tagger, and you would make sure you would win the game for whoever was left. 

You noticed a door with no bullet holes yet the wall around it had been shot to death, you recall the tagger shooting at two girls earlier but why would he shoot so far unless he didn't want to kill them but wanted to get them away from the door... 

You know what this meant. You know where the safe zone was but why was it so easy and why is there no one guarding it? 

Six minutes remaining

The phone chimed and you decided you had waited long enough. You took a breath and began running. You took the stairs down being cautious around every corner ready to run Incase a tagger is lurking around. You safely got to the door and hesitantly tried the handle. It opened and you paused before going in. 

"You figured it out too" a voice behind you made you jump. 

You turned around to be faced with the blonde man once again, his face remaining straight with no emotion. He lets out a slight smirk as you nod.

"Go ahead then" he signals for you to walk through the door. 

You take a breath and walk inside. The room is black and you can't see anything, the blonde boy holds a device in his hand but you can't figure it out and be in a small room with a stranger fills you with a sense of immense fear. 

Suddenly shots fly around the room and the blonde boy runs outside closing the door and leaving you with the tagger. Asshole. 

You duck quickly and run behind the tagger as he reloads, you hit the gun out of his hand and suddenly the door opens the blonde boy presses a button on his small device, a taste, before throwing it to you. Once you catch it he closes the door again. 

 You don't even think before shoving it into the tagger's chest and tasing him. 

You finally breathe after the tagger falls to the floor, you compose yourself and look around the room, you walk towards the door behind the tagger's body. You open it and at first, you are blinded by the light but you quickly adjust. It is an empty room except for two buttons on the wall and for the first time in your life, you need someone else to help you. 

You rush back outside to find the blonde boy hoping he had waiters, you're surprised when you realise he had not

"To clear the game I need help it has to be two people" You scream to alert the other players hoping that someone would come. 

After a few minutes, Arisu and the climber girl run around the corner, you prepare yourself to run in case there is a tagger behind them, however, no one follows them.

"Where is it?" the climber girl asks out of breath. 

"It's inside the room, there's a door. Two of us need to press the buttons to clear the game" you explain quickly. 

Arisu takes a deep breath before sighing "I'll do I-" 

Before Arisu could finish his sentence the tagger who was moments ago passed out had begun shooting from his position on the floor, you don't hesitate to hide. 

You wait patiently and silently behind the wall. 

10 seconds remaining 

You panic and rush towards the room you had nearly died in seconds earlier only to hear another chime from the phone in your pocket. The screen illuminates your face.

The game cleared, congratulations you've earned a visa! 

Visa: 5 days 

Arisu, the climber girl and the blonde boy walk out of the room the game had been cleared in and In a quick breath, you thank them. 

Arisu nods and the blind boy scoffs, the climber girl smiles slightly and you think for a moment about how different it would have been to meet them at home. 

Real home. 

You follow them to the exit of the building and despite all of your unanswered questions and fears about this world, you decide the only place you can go to is the apartment you had called home for the past 3 years. You start to walk in the direction you came from hours earlier but you're stopped when a hand touches your shoulder, you turn around warily only to be met with the smug face of the victorious blonde. 

"You're not entirely worthless, I'm chishiya" his face remains still and his eyes remain cold. 

You mumble your name back at him and after a minute he makes another comment. 

"You weren't as stupid as everyone else. You used your brain. Maybe you'll be useful. You should come with me" He stated, seeming uninterested in his own words. 

You stood silent for a moment debating your choices. You weren't sure where he was going but it had to be better than being alone. Maybe he knows the answers,  maybe he can bring everyone back. 

You pause before nodding "Okay, but first I have to get some stuff."

He nods "Lead the way."

Alice in borderland just did a cast interview and I already have thoughts.

First of all, Kento sweetie, they are not doing you any favors. We all go on and on about how we want Arisu to shower but seeing Kento with the Arisu hairstyle but no grease/sweat/blood is like seeing a dog walk in two legs. Possible, yet weird. This camera angle and light aged him like, a good 5 years too.

Usagi looks exactly the same. Her hair fits her a little better now, maybe, but Tao always looks good in whatever role she plays. I spot a dirty tank top, so I can already tell out poor girl has been carrying Arisu on her back all season long.

Nijiro looks like a sad cat in this screenshot, I'm crying. Also, they kept going on and on about how much bigger this season was, and I bet my left pinky toe they got a huge budget increase for it and you're telling me they kept on this crusty ass wig with a bad hairline??? Also?? This is like the third different white hoodie this man wore in the show??? And they had the audacity to make him wear a shirt and hide his mommy milkers???

How does her hair look even worse than it did on season one? I love Kuina, and Aya is beautiful, but for the love of god, if they're gonna give her braids at least give her pretty ones??? Also, our girl has clearly been fighting for her life, as we can see with the dirt and cuts, but tell me WHY, is she doung all that in that fucking bikini top and platforms??? HARO ASO EXPLAIN.

Ann looks beautiful. Not a hair out of place. She looks as dirty as Kuina so I'm hoping that they are together, or that at least she had more screen time, because in the manga she kinda disappears after the beach and only pops up to kinds remind us that she's alive.

I'm WHEEZING. He looks like Voldemort when he died in the movie. Crusty with no eyebrows, they really tried to make Dori look ugly didn’t they? Also, is Niragi wearing that outfit??? Canonically? Or did they put Dori in a shirt for the interview? Because Niragu was a lot more unhinged and a lot more naked in the manga.

Aguni looks like he has been fighting for his life, which, fair, considering he was SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES IN HIS TORSO AND SOMEHOW SURVIVED. Glad to see he kept the goatee and the tight tiddy shirt tho. Good for him, in his hoe era after the divorce.

Mira looks amazing as usual. Less goth than I would have liked, but I'll take it. You keep doing you queen.

year-end drama recommendation

2. Dead Stock (2017)

Welcome to my world of dramas with very specific vibe. From time to time I find a gem like this, which fills my crazy heart with joy and delight. 

Dead Stock has an episodic format (which is tied beautifully at the end) that was constructed on the basis of unmarked cassettes that are checked everyday by three main characters of this drama. Cassettes contain some spooky footage, and our fearless squad checks the circumstances of these stories to see if they are true to find an interesting topic for their own exclusive. 

This drama definitely has a lot of... well, everything. It has some gore, horror, sci fi, coconut heads, and local legends are mixed somewhere into this retro elixir as well. Dead Stock delivers some shocking punches, and it really was an honour for me to be punched. It left me speechless. If you are into that type of thing it would be worth your time to at least check this drama out.

Risk it all (2) - Utopian Hope

Genre: Chishiya X reader, Angst, Fluff.

Ch.01 | Masterlist | Ch.03

You led Chishiya up the stairs into your apartment, you wasn't particularly bothered by the stairs but after the running in the game you was exhausted. Chishiya on the other hand showed no sign of being tired.

You waited for him at your door as you held it open for him, he walked in past you stopping at the large windows by your bed, you quickly turned on the flashlight you had recollected from the stairs and searched around for your bag, after grabbing some essentials, toiletries, clothes, food, water, medicine you was ready to go. You turned to Chishiya and waved to get his attention.

"What" he sighed.

"I’m ready" you nodded.

Chishiya opens the door and walks out you follow him from behind pausing for a brief moment to look around your apartment before remembering you forgot the most special thing, your sisters necklace. You rush back to the jewellery box in your closet and grab it before rushing to find Chishiya.

"What took you so long" he murmurs as you step out of the stairwell.

Holding up the necklace you reply "I had to grab something special to me".

A smirk appears on his face as you begin to walk.

" what's that for" you question referring to his smirk.

He draws a breath before turning his head to you "It's for you or more so because of you. You're in a place where people die so we can live and you still find something "special" enough to waste time to bring? If you ask me it's pathetic".

He turns his head back to facing the ground, the smirk he had dropped and you began to wonder what made him so careless.

"It’s a good thing I wasn’t asking you. Where Are we going" you say angered by his idiotic  response.

"To the beach" he murmured.

You chuckle causing him to look in your direction his eyebrows raise slightly, if you wasn't watching him you wouldn't have noticed.

You slowed your laughter as you explained "You think I'm pathetic for wanting to keep something special to me on my person? Yet you are taking me to the freakin' beach."

He turns his head whilst side eyeing you. "It's not actually a beach, it's the place they call the beach. It's better than being out here and if you are not too stupid to ruin things it will be our way out, or at least mine."

That shameful feeing of childlike hope built up around you and you dared to ask. "How do we get out"

He chuckled, it was dark, low and quiet. "I want to see what you're worth before I tell you anything. After all you're probably worth nothing to me. The only reason I'm taking you is because you're the first person with a somewhat working brain."

There was no emotion in his voice which made you even more angry. You decided to walk in silence not wanting to have him disrespect you any more and after a while you began to realise how beautiful Tokyo is when it's empty.

You began to think about the past 24 hours and what had happened trying to piece together exactly how you got here, you remember hearing fireworks it was uncommon but not unheard of, you brushed it off because what good would it do. You knew that you didn't have the answers. But he might.

You turned to Chishiya and asked "How much further?"

He shook his head and pointed in front of him, you peered up and in a far distance you noticed lights and could hear the sound of music echoing through the city.

Chishiya didn't talk much and didn't attempt to start a conversation, his answers weren't real answers so once again you began silently thinking, thinking about him. Why was he like this? What made him this way? Was he like this before he came here? Had he always been here....

You began to imagine the pain he would have gone through if he was raised in a place like this filled with death and destruction and a part of you felt sorry for him. You thought about this for the rest of the walk.

When you arrived it wasn't a beach but a hotel, no sand, no sea. They had power despite this A part of you was disappointed hoping it would be more than it is, hoping  it would be your way to escape this hell before you had to play another game of life or death.

Chishiya walked in front of you "Stop".

His voice was cold and sharp, you immediately froze.

He opened the outside door with a slight push the magic key on his wrist let him through the inside doors. You waited in the same spot for him to come back too afraid to move.

It seemed to take forever for him to come back you knew deep inside your heart you wasn’t sure if you wanted him too but whatever came you would face and you would not be scared.

The door opened and his hand popped out signalling for you to come. You hesitate for a moment before hearing him sigh and decided it was best to not keep him waiting. He took you through the hotel, the stairs to the doors of what appeared to be a conference room, although your time to evaluate the scenery was cut short when a hand suddenly grabbed your shirt from behind and dragged you to a chair.

“Get off me you psychopathic asshole” you shouted. He released his grip slightly punching you before he did.

A laugh came from behind you and you turned to face the man who had dragged you around, he was tall, his hair black, his tongue was pierced and he was wearing this black and white shirt that makes him look ridiculous.

You laughed at the thoughts on your mind and everyone turned to face you.

You scanned the faces staring back at you and took note, the man at the head of the table stood and you knew he must have been the leader. He was dressed in a kimono, his hair came to his neck, he wasn’t a big man he was slender and tall.

“I’m Hatter and welcome to my utopia” he raised his hands, he paused turning around “Chishiya told me you could be of use, he said you thought well in spades. A game that is physical you dealt with intelligence” he turned around and walked towards me.

“Let me explain to you how it is here, now your here you need to surrender your cards. All cards belong to the beach. You can enjoy your life to the fullest here. None of the door locks work properly. We have no secrets. You also will wear swim suits, you can’t hide anything in them. The more cards you contribute the higher your number. We will all work together to get one person out of boderlands, we will do this again and again replaying the games until there’s enough cards for everyone to leave.”

It seems like there’s more problems then solutions but you keep quiet knowing that Hatter will continue when he walks away from you again.

He clears his throat before stating “People here will die for me. The final rule to being here is death to traitors. You can leave at any moment but you leave the beach you are a traitor. You hide anything you’re a traitor. Do you get it?”

You sat shocked for a minuet trying to figure out how this has become your life, how you have ended up in this awful position. Suddenly a kick sends you flying off your chair hitting your mouth on the table, you pull yourself up and see it was the same man who had earlier dragged you through the room. You turned your head and spat the blood out in the direction he was standing.

“Out of the corner of your eye you see Chishiya, he held no emotion and didn’t seem to care about the events unfolding in front of him.

The hatter turns to a man sitting at the table wearing a tank top, “Aguni, control your men.”

The man looked over to the asshole who had kicked you off your chair and shook his head “Niragi, leave it”.

His voice was cold and stern, much like that of a father. You stood up and placed yourself back on the seat Niragi had now kicked further away from the table.

“How will we get out” you don’t ask it as a question but you meant it as one.

Hatter laughed, he clapped his hands and two men opened the doors in the middle of the room to reveal a board full of playing cards, they had all but three crossed out.

“This is how we will get out. You helped us get the five of spades, we thank you for that.”

You hear Chishiya sigh and you knew he was mad you was being thanked for his victory. You turn your head to hun only for him to look at you with cold eyes, they were brown but in this moment right here they looked black.

“So what will it be? Are you …staying?” Hatter raised an eyebrow the men behind you with guns stepped closer.

You know in this moment there was only one answer.

“Yes”

【プロフィール】 三宅隆太（みやけ・りゅうた） 1972年生まれ。 脚本家・映画監督・スプリクトドクター・心理カウンセラー。主な作品に、映画『ホワイトリリー』『劇場霊』『クロユリ団地』『七つまでは神のうち』『呪怨 白い老女』、テレビドラマ『デッドストック～未知への挑戦～』『本当にあった怖い���』『世にも奇妙な物語』など多数。著書に『スクリプトドクターの脚本教室・初級編』『スクリプトドクターの脚本教室・中級編』（新書館）、『これ、なんで劇場公開しなかったんですか？～スクリプトドクターが教える未公開映画の愉しみ方～』（誠文堂新光社）などがある。日本では数少ない「スクリプトドクター」として、国内外の映画企画に多数参加。東京藝術大学大学院や各種大学、シナリオ学校などで講師を務める。
