スマホの不調続きで全然遊べない期間が1ヶ月半は続いてるから、他の趣味で時間を潰してる毎日。

DVD観たりするのは勿論、読書の秋でもないのに古本屋で小説を探したり。

江國さんは前から大好きだから読み返したり、チャレンジとして小川洋子さん、川上弘美さん、小池真理子さんを。

読んでるとやっぱり電子書籍が進んでる中、紙媒体が好きなんだなあと改めて思う。

インクの匂い、紙の匂い、活字が好きだ……。

電子書籍でしか読めないものにあってないから分からないけど、もしあたったら読むしかなくなるんだろうなあ……。

古本屋で前まではポイントカード提示してたのが、今はアプリの画面提示やらQRコードで云々だから寂しい気持ち。

ポイントカード集めは小学生時代から好きだったから……。

ゲオはゲオで567になる前までは確か店行ったら毎日ゲオのQRコードスキャンすればポイント貯まったのにいつの間にか無くなってたからケチくさくなったなと心の中で思ってる。

まあpontaカード更新にかかる料金がいつの間にか消えてたからいいの、かな？

ゲオで買い物やらレンタルした後文庫本の紙のカバー貰って帰るんだけどちゃんとしたカバー欲しい。

……流石に文庫サイズのカバーを芯つけて布買ってそれを趣味の1つにって言うのは勘弁。

何か布は布で怖い、価格がｗ

まあ趣味は多いに越した事はないんだけど。

スマホは不調だけどWi-Fiスポットの接続で調べたりしてるから、江國さんみたいな女性的な小説でもそうでないものでもこの小説いいよーっていうものがあれば教えてもらえたら。

ブクログで探してもいいんだけどね……。

古本屋で色々見てるから久々に小説以外も買いました。

福島鉄平さんの「アマリリス」Amazonレビューで偶然知ってWi-Fiでレビュー見てたら短編集？は？？存在すんの？ってびっくりしてどこも在庫無し＋値段がぼったくりだったからどうしようかなーって思ったら古本屋にありました。ありがとう愛してる。

「アマリリス」のエピローグ目当てだったんだけど短編集だから他の作品も面白かったー！

毎度の事ながら好き嫌いははっきり分かれるからご注意をw

「アマリリス」と「スイミング」有り難く購入。ありがとう古本屋……。

後は宝井理人さん(テンカウント、セブンデイズ、グランネリエetc)の「花のみぞ知る」の2巻を持ってなかったから購入。

揃ってからしっかり読もうと思ってたからそこまで考えて「花のみやこで」を読んでなくて、揃ってから改めて読んだらぐちゃぐちゃに泣いた。

いい作品でした………。

(「グランネリエ」は気長〜〜に待ってます……。)

後は数日前に発売してた黒執事新刊33巻。

多分買い忘れてた世界一初恋18巻。

(9/1？に純ロマ新刊が出ると言う話)

ツイッターの呟き見たらおお振り新刊出てるの見てマジかと思って新刊36巻購入。

おお振りは試合してない普通の？会話でも滅茶苦茶楽しめる。キャラ1人1人が試合で頑張ってるのを見るからか皆いいなあって(語彙力)

古本屋に行ったりするとどうにも商業本の新しいものを開拓したくなるから困るw

文庫本やら単行本ばっか読んで読み返してるから本の話中心です、申し訳ない。

「本の栞　折り紙」とか栞作りにはちょっと手を出してたり。

雨の日とか外出れない日のおうち時間にコツコツとって言うのが大好きだから丁度いい。

折り紙も最近は透ける素材があったりして流石ジャンクジャーナルやら素敵便が広まってる影響だなあと思ってます。

Gah! I just finished Seven Days, and I loved it!

Look at these cuties!!! 😍

I loved how soft and sweet it was, and how there were no stupid tropes usually found in Yaoi/BL. The only thing that drove me crazy was the lack of communication in the second part, but the ending was a complete surprise and totally makes up for it!

Seven Days Wrap Up

If one good thing came out of the recent controversy, it was that I rediscovered my love for this story (I might love it even more than I did in the past) and went and purchased a copy of the official English release. I can say with confidence that I have no regrets. The physical copy is beautiful and the official translation is excellent.

Why not go out with me, Seryo?

Many years ago, I came away from this manga thinking it was cute but a little unrealistic. It wasn’t the fake dating scenario or the matter of falling in love within a week, but the fact that the two main characters never encountered any obstacles except for navigating their own feelings and how to express them. Why I felt that fiction should always reflect reality is probably because I was young, naive, and as my mother always said, “You haven’t lived enough yet.”

The real world can be ugly and awful. Not everyone wants to be reminded of that constantly. Sometimes, all you want is a little escapism into a world where those prejudices and conflicts don’t exist - or exist minimally.

The premise is an interesting and unique spin on the classic fake dating trope. From Monday until Sunday, the entire story is about two boys falling in love, coming to terms with those feelings, and figuring out how to express them to the other person. There are so many heartwarming moments, with a dose of underlying tension from the seven day deadline. The characters are loathe to see it end, but the clock keep ticking. The presence of that deadline did a good job of propelling the story forward - the hours and days count off, chapter by chapter.

I would argue that it’s very light on the classic BL tropes. The jealousy subplots never get grievously annoying and the characters recognize that their bursts of jealousy are not always entirely reasonable, nor do they invade their partner’s space or privacy in an effort to assert control over them. Its greatest offense is that it really just wants to tell the story of two people falling in love and doesn’t try to be anything more than that.

I could write essays about this manga, but it has been 10 years since it was first published, so I won’t beat a dead horse. Just know that this has somehow wriggled its way into my heart as one of my favorite BL manga of all time.

I do not know about what counts as "easy" or "difficult" acting, but hear me out.

Do you know the full-body shudder/startle thing that happens to one instinctively and completely outside their control? Is there anyone who can do it on cue? I know I can't. At most I might be able to spasm a muscle or two on my face and tummy, lol.😂

Therefore whenever I see an actor do this, I never fail to be impressed.🤭

I wanted to share the little notes from the artist (Takarai Rihito) and author (Venio Tachibana) because their adorable energy was too good and really put into perspective the work they put into this collaboration. It took three years to serialize the entire thing! As Takarai-sensei said, getting through this single week took so much time that a Japanese high school student could have started school and graduated already lol. I never follow serializations, so I always forget just how long it can take for a series to finish.

I probably skipped over these notes entirely when I first read this manga, which was years ago, but I feel like I can appreciate them way more as an adult.

There’s also an illustration of Seryu and Yuzuru and a great big “Thank you!” that I included because it’s too cute.
