[Black+ White: Day 29]:Loss/失 --------- During the uni days, my violin teacher passed away. He was the first teacher I had and was a very patient man. I was quite a naughty person when it comes to learning violin back then. I would only practice 30 minutes before he came over to teach. During the class, if the pieces were ok, he would mark a tick on the music score. Somehow, I was always able to just pass...marginally. He knew I could do better, but I wasn’t performing too bad at that time, so things seemed to just progress the way it was. But I did grow to like it. “Let music be your company”, he told me that when he hands picked my full-size violin for me. Every hand-picked violin by the teacher had its unique characteristics. Mine plays the bright crispy sounds while my brother’s one was more mellow.
