【♛】༄  Max had been off, probably doing his usual bit of bar hopping before coming home. He came in, smelling like alcohol and expensive cologne. He did not, however, expect to come home to someone there. He spotted the man in his home almost immediately. “Drew? What are you doing here?” He quirked a brow, vaguely amused. Their relationship could be described as a playful rivalry of sorts, but he did enjoy the other’s company from time to time.

【♛】༄  “Let’s see....” He held the glass of wine to his lips, as if he hadn’t been drinking straight from the bottle earlier in the evening. “Probably the time Rémy and Stéphane set me up on some blind date.” He leaned back in his seat. “It was with some woman they’d met and insisted I go on a date with her. And all she did was talk about herself, which don’t get me wrong, I can talk about myself a lot.” He took a drink. “Anyways, we go to a nice restaurant that my brothers set up a reservation at. And this girl is all over me. I’m talking like constantly touching me and flirting with me. And it wasn’t like she was unattractive, she just certainly wasn’t my type. She didn’t even like cats! So, we talk for a while and it’s like we have nothing in common. I’m a few drinks in, she’s barely touched her wine. She asks if we can go back to my place, and I agree because it’d be rude to just ditch her after a meal.” “We get there, and she asks to use the restroom. I tell her where it is and wait, and she’s gone for a good while. Naturally, I go to check on her. And would you believe it? I catch her snooping around my home, taking pictures of my things, and sending them to my brothers! They set me up so they could be nosy about my things and place. So, I kick her out. And she’s begging me, saying that she did really like me and that they paid her, but it turned out there was real attraction.” He laughed. “As if I’m that idiotic. I shut the door in her face.” He finished his glass, going for a refill. “I knew I shouldn’t have trusted them, but I thought for once they were just looking out for me. Never again.” He shook his head.

【♛】༄  The feeling is mutual when it comes to wanting to get to know the strange girl who he helped out that fateful night. After all, he is short on friends and he finds her rather interesting to say the least. He hopes to one day better understand her and figure out exactly what had her in such a state in the hopes he could prevent it somehow.
