.｡.:*☆ "So, you too?" Thorin was sort of glad. Like, not that the young woman had been ripped out of her life, as well. But that she did remember Sydney, Autralia. Because it meant this all had not only happened to him. However, they seemed both to be confused about where they were now, and.... well, that was not very helpful, at all.

"Oh, I wish I would know," The dwarf frowned, shaking his head. "Like, it is not Middle Earth, and certainly also not Sydney." Thorin looked around once more, and then nodded, mostly to himself.

"You are no bother, no worry. I just fear I can not answer any of your questions, really." And yes, that did bother Thorin. More than he wanted to admit, actually.

.｡.:*☆ "I was just really.... wondering what you are doing there?" Thorin told the other as he howered about the man and his strange invention. At this point, he was used to, well... the strange things that seemed to go on in Sydney each and every day. But that did not mean the former king could stop wondering about them.

"Of course, you do not have to tell me, if you do not want to," He then quickly added, sensing the other seemed to be nervous, for whatever reason. "I just found myself being really curious, that is all."

“Oh, I’m sorry. Am I in your way?” The inventor looked up at the stranger that had crossed his path. He knew he was in a public park, so he wasn’t exactly upset about someone needing to cross in front of him. It was just easier to try out his latest invention in a bigger open area.

Now that he was sure it wasn’t going to explode…

“You can go around. Seriously.” He flashed a small smile, quickly trying to gather up all his stuff so that she wouldn’t accidentally step on anything.

Fili & Thorin - “  because of what they did i’m damaged.  ”  

.｡.:*☆ At those words, Thorin looked down at his nephew with a sigh. "We all got damaged during this," He then pointed out, rubbing one hand over his face. It had already been bad enough for Thorin himself. But learning Kili and Fili had died as well? That was certainly something that even broke the dwarf more. But, he could not let it breake him again. He just couldn't.

"However, Kili, we can not dwell onto this, do you hear me? At least, not forever." Another sigh as he got up to get some alcohol. A bottle Thorin was keeping for situations exactly like this. "This city gave us a new chance, as odd as it all is. So, maybe we should make the best out of it. And now, come, sit down. Drink something with me!"

.｡.:*☆ Thorin was wandering around aimlessly, not really paying a lot of attention to the beauty of the place. The thing was, he felt sort of..... defeated, again. Because once more, his home had been taken away from the dwarf. Yes, it had not been the Middle Earth of his time, but it had been home nonetheless. And now.... Thorin did not even know what to do now. This was not Sydney, Australia, that much he could tell.

And, yes, maybe even Sydney would have been better than this place. Like, yes, it was beautiful. Sort of majestic, even. But it was also foreign. And Sydney was a city  he had gotten used to. But here, Thorin was not home, and he could not imagine to adapt to yet another foreign land yet again.

Suddenly feeling a pair of eyes on him, Thorin stopped and turned. “Yes?” He asked. “Is there anything I can help you with, or...?”

.｡.:*☆ Thorin had no idea how to feel. Yes, this place, these lands, were his home. However, something did not seem to be right, like - at this point, the dwarf had encountered several people being confused about why they were even around, similar to how he had felt after his memories had returned while living in Sydney. So, could it really be.... was that just anotzher game someone unknown was playing with them? Thorin of course did not hope so, but yet, he also could not shake the feelingh off....

So lost in his thoughts, Thorin almost noticed too late that he had almost been running someone over. “Oh damn...” The dwarf stopped, frwoning. “Sorry, should have watched where I walked. You’re not hurt in any way, are you?”

.｡.:*☆ "That.... is a question I have never really asked myself, to be all honest." And then why would he? In Thorin's wordl the dead were... well, dead, and if they would come back, it was because of tainted magic, and certainly would not end well.

"You see, coming back from the dead is certainly unusual, in my world. There is always magic involved. Not that I know much about it, but..." A moment of silence. Pondering. "See, I really do not know much about those things. That is a topic for mages and... elves." He made a grimace while saying the last word. "But I know that nothing good comes from bringing the dead back to life. So, my family and friends most likely would not be able to really trust me. And, I can not even blame them in that case, really."

Julie nodded, she had come to realize that with everything that was happening in this country and world that they now were a part of. Plus, portals normally don't just pop up out of no where and send you to different places in seconds. Usually, you had to take a plane for that one and it certainly wouldn't be that quick. It would be faster then driving at least.

"Wouldn't your family and friends want you back anyway? Sure, you died, like you said, but if they knew there was a chance you could come back, would they want it?" julie asked curiously. she knew that sydney wasn't perfect, but personally it was a lot better then home at the moment.

.｡.:*☆ Thorin could not believe he had managed to get back home. He did still remember his life in Sydney, his second chance.... being a farmer had not been that bad, and, frankly, looking at it now, Thorin could not really imagine being a king again. All that responsibility that had been laying on his shoulders.... no, he was better without that, really.

However, something did not feel right. Would this place have a bad influence on him again? or was there more? Thorin felt like... there was something important he simply could not grasp. Something he needed to remember. Thorin sighed and shook his head. He needed to focus. He needed the find the others, because, most likely - hopefully - they would have the answers he was seeking. If they were still willing to speak to him, after all that Thorin had done, that was....

Thorin had just found a place int he shadow of a tree to sit down and have a smoke. His whole day had been filled with work, so far, nad he was having his well-deserved break.

“You know, any fruits or vegetables? It is just that people usually come here because of this. Or, are you lost?” The dwarf eyed the stranger, arching a brow. “Happens more often than you might think, after all.”

.｡.:*☆ Thorin had never imagined himself to be a farmer. As a dwarf, he was used to live under the earth, in the mountains. maybe searching for gold and diamonds. But this... this was different from everything he knew. But, it was okay. Unaware of the death of himself and his friends, healed from the Dragon sickness, he was having a good life, so far.

Thorin was just collecting some fruits from the trees when spotting a stranger passing by. Obviously a little lost, as it seemed.

“Hey there,” He waved. “Need a little help there, maybe?”

.｡.:*☆ “Do you sometimes wish to just go onto a ship and sail away?” Thorin watched the waves. Sighing quietly as he did.

“This land is so far away from home. And so strange and different,” He added, drawing circles into the sand. “And, I do miss my family. I can only hope they do well. And got back the kingdom we’ve once lost....”

.｡.:*☆ “Have you ever been sailing?” Thorin had been on a boat before, but, well, it had not really been exciting. To hide under this fish and other crap so people would not be aware of them entering the city. It was not the same as the stories people would tell him in the pub at night.

“I was always wondering if I should do it. See the world, you know? Now that I am free from most responsibilities, it would be a good dream to have, don’t you think?”

.｡.:*☆ "It is alright. Magic is not common, and, in my opinion, really should not be, either. It does cause too much chaos and harm, after all." Frowning quietly, Thorin looked around and then decided for a direction to head into.

"Well, I myself would really prefer not to have to return to Sydney." Sure, his life there had not been bad. It was good for once to be no king. Less pressure on his shoulders, really. But Thorin also missed his people. He was not made for being all on his own like this all of the time.

"However, I am not sure if I would still be welcomed in my home. After all, for all I know, everyone there does believe I have actually been dying a long time ago already, you see?"

Julie shook her head at the other, she hadn't even known magic was real before coming to this country. "No. None of this existed where I am from. The most magical thing about my life was my voice and that was from other's who heard me sing." She admitted. "You think so? Well, I will let you lead the way and I will follow. You seem to know what you are talking about." She smiled. "So, respective homes? You mean back to before we were in Sydney or is that where we are going?" Julie asked curiously.

.｡.:*☆ Thorin was really trying to make the best out of it because, well - what else was there to do, right? Plus, his life in Sydney was not that bad. With no rheavy responsibilities on his shoulder and all that. And, yes, he did miss his family, of course. And Bilbo. Especially Bilbo. But that was a thing he would take to his grave most likely. Instead of ever speaking it out loud.

"Sure we are..." He looked at the bottle in his hand. And then at his newphew and then at the bottle again. "Are you sure you are alright hought?" Thorin then asked. "Because it every much seems like there would be something heavy on your mind...."

it wasn't dying that fili regretted the most. it was not being able to keep his promise to the man he loved. he had promised to come back to him, promised to marry him upon his return... help him support the family they had created together. the family that had kept the man he loved from joining them on their quest. he would never stop being glad that numi hadn't come with them, knowing how it ended... he had been safe, but fili had failed him.

he nodded when his uncle spoke, doing his best to smile when he saw the bottle in the older dwarf's hand. "aye, of course. of course, I'll drink with you. we're dwarves, aren't we?" he chuckled softly, but the sound wasn't quite right and it didn't meet his eyes. not fully.

.｡.:*☆ Thorin had never been doing well with strangers. Not in Sydney, and not in his life before. Even when he was trying to do better. To be better. Being surrounded by family was soemthing the dwarf would prefer over living alone on a farm, but... since Bilbo had left, no one in Sydney had been family, really. So, it was as it was. And now there was this young woman, bascially asking for his help.

"Do you know about the portals?" he eventually asked, thinking about his time in Middle Earth. "I do have no idea how they work - those powers are for the elves and wizards, really - but if they brought me here, they maybe can also bring us to our respective homes?"

Julie hummed as he listened to the other and took a deep sigh. That wasn't what she wanted to hear, of course. That she was now stuck in this strange town and that now she was stuck in whatever weird place this was with a stranger. nothing against Thorin, she just didn't really know him that well. "That's great." She sighed, shaking her head.

"So, what do you think we should do? We've got to figure someway out of here and I figure if we put our two heads together, we can figure out a way."
