when: ‘oh! my mistake’ recording with: @fmdjoosung
It makes Sooah feel so much more at ease when she finds out that Joosung would be the one helping with the production of ‘Oh! My Mistake’. It’s not like they are close so to speak, but the fact that they would have someone from her own company there was enough to make her less nervous. Stage fright worked funny in her head. She rarely feels fidgety nowadays when she performs for fans but in front of people who actually know what they are doing, is a completely different feeling, so when her turn to record comes up, Sooah is surprised with herself for how much she feels like she is just going to sing some of Fuse’s songs and not as if she is about to sing in front of people she never properly met before, “okay, I think I’m ready?” she says after putting the headphones and approaching the microphone, “where do you want me to start?”

summary: ‘oh my mistake’ is one of the best things to happen this year for yujin date: may 10th location: gold star entertainment building word count: 451 words ooc note: colla3orate schedule self-para, mentions of joosung like always
at first, when she was given word about joining this special project, yujin was absolutely ecstatic. as much as she loves her members and element as a whole, there’s no denying that a part of the girl has always dreamed of being part of a girl group doing those concepts that only girl groups can do. being a coed group, there was a limitation in what the group could explore together, and she’s always imagined herself getting to wear tennis skirts and pastel colors instead of the sparkly accessories and tight leather shirts that she got to wear now.
it becomes even better when she learns that the song that she’ll be getting to record and perform was partially produced by joosung. nothing could have made this experience the best thing to happen to yujin other than performing sung’s own song. she teases and asks him whether she was on her mind when he was making it and although she doesn’t get a concrete answer out of him, she likes to think that she was definitely an inspiration. an extra bonus she gets for letting him raid her wardrobe whenever he wants to.
the other members of the project are all her seniors, and the beating of her heart only accelerates from that. maybe this will do something good for element’s career. if she does well enough then perhaps she can catch the eyes of the audience members or the general public. make them search up element on naver and then learn to love the group because they have so much more to offer that is being hidden away by gold star’s lack of promotions for the group.
the song is everything she could ever ask for. sure, the lyrics aren’t exactly the most relatable, but she thinks it’s fun to be able to see a group of beautiful women sing exactly about how pretty they are, and how they’re like the flowers that bees flock towards. she doesn’t think she’ll ever get an opportunity to sing such a song ever again so she enjoys every moment she gets, trying her best not to sneak glances at joosung. yujin’s not the type to get nervous, and she’s having way too much fun to feel such an emotion, but there’s a sort of comfort that comes from knowing that sung is on the other side of the recording booth and with her through the process.
by the time recording is over, it’s been a couple of hours, but she’s still as cheery as she was when she first stepped into the studio. nothing can really hinder her experience for this project, and she’s looking forward to everything else that comes with it.

starter for @fmdjynx
it had been a weird feeling, being in a studio without her members. even when she’d been alone in the past, she’d known they were coming. she’d known they were preparing for each other. there was no such promise here, and while she was sure dimensions wouldn’t totally fuck her over, she felt uncertain in her apparent vocal role. she was a good fit for subvocalist in lieu of rap lines, but she wondered if she could really keep up with this group, feeling a little out of her element as it was. for that matter, what was dimensions’ angle, as far as putting her in the song to begin with? she had her fans, certainly, but did her vibe really lend to this?
with studio time done, though, it was nice to get to relax and eat. others had been more outgoing during their brief intro, but she was quiet by nature without the inclusion of pressure. she was sitting awkwardly in her chair, not quite comfortable but infinitely more than if she’d been sitting up straight. it was nothing more than a need to feel the manager’s attention shift from her that prompted her to turn to the woman next to her.
“you sounded really nice today. is this a concept you’ve been wanting to try, or are you just that versatile?” she knew, after all, that aria had taken a turn toward the more adult, albeit in more of an elegant way.

JUNE 2020 CHOI JOOSUNG SCHEDULES & REVIEW
Promotions for “Dumb Litty” end on the 17th, but there won’t be much of a break before the special week long promotions for “Quit Playing” begin. In terms of solo releases this month, Sun’s focus will be on visuals and modelling, all culminating a fashion week attendance in Paris towards the end of the month. The goal, while, of course, is to get Sun a larger public audience, it will also serve to expand his branding, adding on the feeling of “cool and relatable” to his previous solidified sensual image. Following BC and Gold Star’s approval on Shouldn’t Have, Vivienne and Sun will be recording the song together mid-month to prepare for a release in July. The idols will also be brought together through the next month to work on their stage performance. At the end of the month, Sun will be brought into Gold Star for another company meeting. There, he’ll receive more information on projected solo works, including the plan to release a full-length solo album in December, which he will be expected to start working on from then on, and the confirmation that the company has secured him a cameo role in My Mister, alongside Hyeju, after the very warm reception to their Lotte Waterpark CF.
Important dates:
June 1: Esquire Korea magazine release. Lotte Waterpark fansign with Hyeju.
June 2: 1TheK Dumb Litty Suit Ver. filming.
June 5: NewsAde Dumb Litty Part Switch filming.
June 7: Element Tries Brazillian Snacks video filming.
June 8: Idol Radio radio show guesting.
June 9: Sun’s Goodnight recording with Dai.
June 10: Arirang Radio Super K-Pop radio show guesting.
June 15: Shouldn’t Have recording with Vivienne.

As promised, here’s an admin update post. This addresses several topics you all probably knew were coming and might have been waiting for the answers on, as well as some other topics, additions, and changes! Please take your time to read this thoroughly, and thanks again for four years of Famed! There’s a lot here, so take your time reading it.
URL change
The main blog’s URL has changed to famedroleplay. Some links are still being updated, but if you notice anything still links back incorrectly after a week or so, please do let me know!
Faceclaims
After hearing out the opinion of everyone who shared theirs regarding banning faceclaims involved in bullying scandals and taking that into consideration, face claims will be banned if they are linked to outside crimes or severe such as sexual assault, molka, or bullying in connection to suicide / suicide attempts. This means the initial ban on actor Kim Jisoo and April members Kim Chaewon, Lee Naeun, Yang Yena, Lee Jinsol, and and ex-member Jeon Somin remain in tact.
Bullying allegations not linked to these outside factors will still be grounds for someone to be allowed to ask to change a faceclaim before their faceclaim change waiting period is up, though, if they are uncomfortable continuing to use a faceclaim because of bullying allegations. If a faceclaim leaves the industry and/or removes themselves from the public eye for the foreseeable future for any reason, they are also still unusable, but this rule was already in place.
As for how this will affect parts of the roleplay other than faceclaims, please see the section further down about Element. Two April songs (”Oh My Mistake!” and “Love Clock”) were previously used for the first season of base’s COLLA3ORATE. These will be retroactively replaced with Elris’s “Jackpot” and “Like I Do” respectively, but if you had a muse involved in “Oh My Mistake” and would prefer to remove them from COLLA3ORATE season one entirely, just message me and they will be removed. I assigned the lines trying to match the positions and line distributions up similarly, but if your muse was involved and you’d like to keep them in “Jackpot” but want to switch to an untaken position, you’re welcome to request that as well. Otherwise, any references to that can simply use those songs instead now.
Element update
Due to the recent allegations involving Somin, a major revamp of Element has had to be conducted. After discussing the situation with the current muns of the group, the past model discography of Element has been replaced using Checkmate, K-Tigers Zero, and Lucky J, and they will be making their final comeback on April 12. After those promotions end, Element will be disbanded and the members will re-debut later in the year in a boy group, Quicksilver, with model groups of Ateez and Treasure and a girl group, Marigold, with model groups of BVNDIT and Melody Day with two new members each. The Element spots have been reopened, but the new positions in the new groups won’t be opened until after Element have finished promoting. This will be a major plotline for the roleplay and Gold Star in particular so expect to see it brought up in schedules and in some articles on the Exclusive blog as the storyline unfolds.
The new debuts in Quicksilver and Marigold will be available on May 13.
Fuse’s model discography update
Thanks to everyone’s suggestions, I was able to find two groups to add to Fuse’s model discography that I felt could align with their sound, direction, storyline, and positions enough to be happy with for now. These groups are Cherry Bullet and Weki Meki. The updated line distribution can be found on Fuse’s page.
There are other groups I’m looking into adding onto the model discographies of, but Fuse was the most urgent, so they’re the only official update I have today!
Canon soloists
Ultimately, after the poll, more people voted to remove canon soloists than to keep them, and they are officially being removed from the roleplay.
Those discographies previously used for the soloists will begin to be open for points claims at midnight/12AM EDT on April 12.
With the removal of canon soloists, the plan is to allow a solo music career to become a more prominent claiming option, and there are plans for some additional claim options to become available in relation to such a career, but those will be added and addressed at a later time.
As for storylines linked to some of the soloists, this is how those will be retconned:
BC Soloist 1: Instead of BC signing and debuting a known Gold Star trainee, BC hired a high profile creative director from Gold Star known from working with Gold Star since their inception and had worked on some of their most defining comebacks and announced she would be taking over as one of the company’s main creative directors. She has since worked on conceptualizing several group’s comeback as well as most heavily on Chroma’s pre-debut project.
Dimensions Soloist 3: Instead of Dimensions buying out a small and brand new company created by a crew of popular music producers with one soloist who they transferred to their label, in early 2020, Dimensions bought out a music production company that was created by a top music production team with several rising producers signed with them and made the producers in-house producers for Dimensions. Since then, the new producers have helped to produce several hit Dimensions songs since.
While Gold Star Soloist 1 no longer exists as an IU stand-in, Gold Star still had an incredibly popular and loved NPC soloist as one of their first artists that helped give their name prominence. At the beginning of 2021, she announced her departure from the agency to create her own label, citing her reasoning as feeling she needed a more focused environment than Gold Star’s growth could provide. There are rumors she was alluding to dissatisfaction with Gold Star’s recent management and gossip that Gold Star was pushing for her to pursue activities in overseas markets she wasn’t interested in.
Anyone who had a feature or MV appearance claim on a soloist can contact me and let me know whether they’d like to just drop the claim (and, if a points claim, recollect those points), keep it as a claim in an unspecified work, or try to replace it with something else. The following muses had claims this applies to:
Features:
Cha Kyonghwa (Kami) (app claim) Kang Sunghee (app claim) Park Jaewon (points claim, 10 points) dropped! Choi Joosung (Sun) (points claim, 10 points) Moon Chaeyeon (Dita) (app claim) Park Duri (points claim, 10 points) kept as unspecified!
MV appearances:
Kim Kyongmin (Alice) (app claim) Ryu Jaein (points claim, 5 points) dropped! Seo Minjung (points claim, 10 points) points reclaimed! Moon Chaeyeon (Dita) (app claim)
Points shop updates
There have been a few updates to the points shop!
Firstly, the nation’s title claim checklist now requires a headcanon on the muse’s image and how it relates to their claims and career to be completed. This is just so I can see a mun’s own intentions for how everything ties in with their image. This headcanon shouldn’t focus on the title itself since that isn’t ever guaranteed for approval, but the muse’s general image as the mun has shaped it. The viral moment requirement for a nation’s title is now also specified to need to relate to the image involved in the desired title.
In the wake of canon soloists being removed, I’m planning on being a little more strict regarding music claims aligning well with positions. This applies to both individual songs and whole discographies. Still, the intent is to be reasonable. Chungha having a rap-like verse in “Bicycle” won’t require someone to have a rap position to claim it since it’s not a lot of the song and she’s not known as a rapper, but I also wouldn’t approve a muse whose most prominent position is main rapper or a main dancer making their entire discography IU releases since IU is primarily a singing-focused artist.
There used to be a rule requiring that muns seek admin approval before claiming songs written by deceased artists, but that rule has now been removed. Keep it respectful, though, please. If any issue arises with muns breaking the fourth wall in relation to these songs to be disrespectful about a real person’s passing, that claim may be revoked and the rule may be reinstated. Songs performed by deceased artists still cannot be claimed.
There’s also a new claim available — a YouTube variety show or talk show. Please see the variety page for examples and more information, but note that this is separate from both a reality show claim. I’ve tried to specify the difference, but if you’re ever unsure which one what you want to claim would fit into, feel free to ask! Both will now be uploaded in-’verse to base’s Youtube Channel. Likewise, there has been a small change so that future radio show claims are now through base Radio, a radio streaming application (think Naver Now).
Company building pages + Pinterest
I’m currently working on pages that give more detail on the layout of the company headquarters. They aren’t quite finished yet, but I have created a Famed Pinterest account for those of you who find more muse visually or who are into visual worldbuilding! One of the sections on the boards there gives a rough idea of company building visuals. There are group concept boards as well, so if you’re struggling to decide where your muse might fit, looking at those might help you if you’re more of a visual person. No one is required to follow it and I won’t be answering messages or anything of the sort there, but I thought it might be a helpful way to visually convey locations and concepts! I’ll make a small post to let everyone know when the pages with in-depth information on the company buildings is available.
Activity rules updates
I mentioned there’d be a few more touch-ups to the activity rules to fill in loopholes that have been around a while, so here they are.
- There is now a formal hiatus request form that must be submitted to request a hiatus. Simply sending the main an IM that you want a hiatus will no longer qualify as a valid request and it will not be processed.
- There will no longer be a week-long grace period after a hiatus ends. You are responsible for being active for the next activity check after your hiatus ends.
- The maximum length of a hiatus is now three weeks (and the minimum one week). The initial hiatus request maximum is still two weeks with one week extensions, but extensions may not be stacked to exceed three weeks total without a passed activity check in between. If you can’t be around for a longer period of time, it might be best to rejoin at a later time when you’re more available! In total, a mun is allotted a maximum of four weeks of hiatus over any twelve week period.
- If a muse reaches three activity warnings in a month, they will be automatically moved to the unfollow list on their third warning instead. If a muse is removed and refollowed three times over the course of six months, they will not be able to be re-followed again and will have to re-apply.
New points opportunity
As of this post going up, muses may now collect one point for every first closed thread with a new muse after it has reached ten posts. This will no longer only apply during events and the ten post requirement is new. Members should be interacting with new muses all the time, not just during events, so it felt right to adjust this accordingly. This applies only to threads started after this post goes up.
Chroma
As schedules have been made quarterly, all remaining Chroma roles will be made available for reserves and applications in at midnight/12AM EDT on April 12.
Suggestions + Feedback
I want to end off this post by reminding everyone that I’m always taking suggestions for events, tasks, etc! I plan on opening an official suggestion submission blog at some point down the line, but I’m happy to take suggestions through the ask box or submit if you have any. I’m also open to feedback as well. If you do send in either of these things, please specify if you’d like a reply from me, since sometimes I might be naturally inclined to keep a message simply giving a suggestion or idea without any questions instead of responding to it.
Thanks for reading this very long update! There are more additions to the roleplay in the works, some I’ve hinted at here and some I’ve not, but I hope Famed’s fifth year is able to be its best one yet!

closed starter for @fmdtaeyong
haseon was confident in her ability as a performer. her spot in the colla3orate project in her eyes was proof of this. the management team had a wide range of idols to choose from and instead they choose her. a trainee who’s been under her company for eight years and was passed up for their most recent girl group. but she had finally made it. and she wasn’t going to let an opportunity like this slip through her fingers. it was her time to show the world that she’s been ready for this the entire time. she was truly trapped in bc’s basement. and they had finally let her out:
she sat in the room with the other members of the collaboration. they had just finished discussing the song with the idol who helped write, compose, and produce the song. it was none other than a member of knight. a group that despite being under the same company as her she knew very little about. but it was hard not to hear about taeyong among the fans of bc entertainments group. he had a successful solo career and had even been on our songs and had experience in creating music. it seemed the group discussion had come to an end and now they were talking in small groups. “so how does it feel to be apart of the creative team? are you proud of what it’s become?”

just a heads up that because i got so busy over the past month and i’m still a little overwhelmed with stuff right now (and i realized i’d been missing a lot of replies in my activity), i’m going to drop any thread it was my turn to reply on and i haven’t replied to in over a month.
any threads where it’s the other person’s turn or that i haven’t taken so long to reply to, i’m going to go back through my activity/keep a closer eye on my activity and make sure i reply to. if you want to drop anything and/or start a new thread, lmk!
i also need schedules threads so i’m gonna kill two birds with one stone. if you want to do a schedule thread with ash, please like this and i’ll hit you up to see if you want to completely pre-plot or if you’d rather i mostly just throw a starter up. a couple of ideas are under the cut, but if you have any other ideas, i’m down to hear them.
EDIT: i need a thread for colla3orate too if anyone in we are legendary or planning to put their muse in it wants to do something pls~ ash is there to help w/ the recording session & is also doing the bit where they try out the game
april 24: bc gala (any bc artists)
rpm promotions are kind of stressing him out because he went from working less to promotions for three different songs back to back and he’s doubting his career and his depression hasn’t magically been cured by going to museums a couple of times. so he’ll be looking for people he knows to talk to to avoid being pulled into conversations with strangers.
he could wind up talking to someone near the end of the night and they get out of there and hanging up in a less stressful setting where they’re probably woefully overdressed (pretty much any place but i imagine a small restaurant, a bar, a convenience store, one of their homes, etc.)
april 12-may 12: rpm music show promotions (knight, 7rophy, bee, wish, lipstick, chroma crystal, impulse, vive, femme fatale, unity)
like i said, ash is stressed and he still hasn’t learned how to handle stress healthily, so he’ll be looking for ways to get away. someone have a deep conversation with him in a staircase or sit with him in the cafeteria at the station building because he’s sitting alone and looks sad.
april 12-may 12: rpm promotions (knight members)
idk again ash is stressed and sad as much as he doesn’t want to be. talk to him. yell at him. idk.
may: deciding his solo stage (anyone)
someone could help him look through options for a cover for his solo stages and he can help them with something related to their schedules in return
#&& there's nobody home | ooc#fmdcall#feeling down today i've been listening to coin for three hours on repeat just to feel something so i might not message right away#or i might . who knows . it's always a surprise with me . will i take six months to message you or six seconds#i love being sexy and unpredictable#not ignoring anyone i owe messages to btw#if i look too far to the right of my screen to see all the people i owe messages to my brain shuts down#might update this later with ideas that are more fun and less sad lmao

@fmdyena
From this group of people that they’ve gathered, seeing Yena was probably the biggest surprise she had since arriving. She didn’t even know Dimensions would be sending someone from their oldest group and even then, she expected to see the older idol performing a song with a stronger concept so she almost thought she had to be in the wrong floor or something. Her slightly panicky mode only worsened when her manager pushed her inside the room and Sooah was momentarily frozen by the door. She got herself together fairly quickly though, and by default, she realized she had already bowed and was approaching the older woman, “hello, sunbae-nim, I’m Fuse’s Sooah, it’s nice to meet you,” she says with a smile, trying to make things less awkward, “I never thought we would work together, but I look forward to doing this with you.”

SOLO: COLLA3ORATE ° solo stage, cover of danger / wc: 511
when preparing for his solo stage, when picking his song he tried to figure out what would show his skills the best and what would entertain the crowd the most. there were multiple different performances he could do but in the end, he landed on one he had performed before, during one of his trainee evaluations-- danger. it was a song he knew and a song he could do a twist on if he so desired it.
the one thing that was on his mind when he was waiting for his turn to go on stage was, what would his members think? this was his first solo schedule, by himself— it felt rather empty practicing and during rehearsals, he was used to performing with them already, and here he was, not even three months into debut and already having a solo schedule. with all these senior artists— however, he was determined to do well, to make his members proud, and to be remembered by the people watching him today.
when he stepped onto the stage, there was a moment where he felt a shiver down his spine— it was only for a moment that he felt like that because the rush of seeing the crowd took over.
"hello everyone," he bowed politely at the crowd, the perfect 90-degree angle— " i am vive's haru and it is a big honor to be here today ! " he bowed once more, for good measure— " i will be performing taemin sunbaenim's danger for my solo stage, i hope you all enjoy it! "
with that he got into his position with his back facing the crowd, nodded at the staffs controlling the music to signal that he was ready and in his ear, he heard the music start and he turned around on his heel, his body moving comfortably and he started singing confidently, not missing the beat as he had done a couple times during rehearsals.
even if he was covering a song, haneul had managed to make it his own— it wasn't like he was copying the original artist and he adjusted the moves to suit his dance style but he still kept the original choreography, taemin was known for his style and that was something haneul also wanted to be known for in the future. his performance was stable, even while singing an entire song by himself ( something he hadn't really done before on this scale )— he felt the adrenaline take over as the bridge came and his worries about not being able to hit the high notes were gone, haneul put pressure on his voice and used it with confidence.
when the performance was over he took one breath, gathered himself and bowed at the crowd again— smiling at them, the way he presented himself changed from the charismatic persona he had on stage to someone that was more precious, " thank you all, please enjoy the rest of the performances, " he said and bowed to the crowd as he left the stage, the applause making him smile as he stepped off the stage.

@fmdminah.
duri was excited to hear that he had been chosen for ‘cabi song’, as well as being one of the main vocalists for the track. it seemed to be a different concept from stuff that he had done in and outside of knight, as well as much different than what he had done in the previous colla3orate project as well. he thought it was rather interesting, as well, to portray a lifeguard, based off the concept that they were given in the very first meeting earlier that month. not to mention, since the first meeting, duri had been thinking about the stage that he would be doing for the concert once everything was said and done. but, thus, it was more so go time, and this time, they’d be recording the song, but, of course, they’d be meeting before hand for some extra recording.
duri had arrived to gold star’s building, probably a bit early. but, he was always the early bird that catches the worm. but, the worm in this case, was just to wait around for others. but, at least he got to kill time by being mic’d up for the time being. he was in a bit of a comfortable outfit, an oversized sweater (if anything could even look oversized on him), jeans, and sneakers for the song recording. it was a usual style that he would tend to show up in. he made his way to the meeting spot, before waiting for another soul to appear. after a while, he looks, a smile upon his face as he starts waving. “minah!” he greets excitingly. “are you excited to record today?”

colla3orate 1.5 — self para
summary: taejin tries to go in and out of the recording booth as soon as possible. warnings: none wc: 448
he figures — if bc hasn’t hit the brunt of the worst, they have now. pushing his solo schedules in lieu for half-proven efforts into decipher, and now, they’ve given him another project.
when a solo arises with little to no hope on their end, then they cut corners and to micromanage everything into frame. but it’s bc, and he’s only one of the many commodities they consider to market to the public. turns out, his image comes like a reckoning of irony — biting him where he least expects it. another promotional deal, a group-effort amongst the big three to promote nothing other than the city of seoul.
but kim taejin has to remind himself, more times than he’s used to, that he’s a professional. things to point out about professionalism remain obvious: the way he marks his path, strong strides into the recording studio at the pointed time. (bc houses it all, and taejin takes gratitude that he doesn’t have to wander far when the walls and hallways become all too familiar at this point).
the producer there is one he’s known, familiarized with by now. decipher in their thirteenth year, and it would be a near crime not to acknowledge the sea of faces he’s come face to face with over each album, each concept and each title track forced into recordings.
and with nothing more than the lyrics in his hand, he bows his head and greets the producer. a smile that never fades from the second he steps into the door. for a split second, there’s brief momentary talks about refreshing on the concept — a happy song, one that screams the happy-go-lucky spirits bc parades. and kim taejin is lost within hearing the backtrack alluding to his generation, the limelight of decipher tunes, and the repercussions of having to lend his voice where he has no say.
but the faster he steps into the recording booth, the faster he’s out.
when he steps in, it’s a serious pattern of his headphones in, singing out dull and gray. emotion becomes less when the song’s stripped into differing parts, and at this point his his career, taejin gives himself the benefit of the doubt that the song doesn’t require the heart-stripping vocal presentation of anyone. instead, they just want marketability.
marketability comes easy: smile when the recordings get taken on vocal-takes, and on video. sing as if you’re floating amongst the sea of clouds, high in the sky. and most importantly, sell the bc-package of drowning in the love for idoldom all at once.
checkmarks to one two three, and taejin’s out the door with no turn of looking back.

OH! MY MISTAKE — a nam yena playlist
a collection of girl group songs that capture the essence of nam yena, a pretty face with a feisty personality to match it and an abundance of confidence, always a little bit too loud and proud for her own (or anyone else’s) good. she’s literally just here to look sexy, start shit, get compliments, drink herself into the next year and show off that she has the prettiest legs in all of korea (as by her own judgment). if yena may say so herself, she’s doing a pretty stellar job at all of the above. we gotta love a confident queen, kinda iconic.

headcanon 019: “our songs” tracks word count: 1,231 words (excluding titles) ooc note: mentions of charlie and joohwan
little wildflower: for the first round, rather than coming up with something brand new, suji decided to stick to a sound that she’s known for. the prompt was introduction anyway, and she thought that nothing would introduce her better than a song that shared a similar vibe to her debut song. the first draft to little wildflower was written back around the time in love with someone else was written—circa 2018—and it had been brought back up to the surface around the time she was preparing for her first mini album. however, gold star found in love with someone else to be more compelling as a title track contender and asked her to rewrite the lyrics to that instead of fixing up what already existed of little wildflower. it was pretty deep down in her folder of drafted songs, but suji remembered its existence as she came out of the first our songs filming. the lyrics, the instrumental, the overall sound, basically everything screamed very suji to her, and that’s why she decided that it would be a good choice for an introduction round. she describes it as a song that shows off her roots as a soloist. the lyrics to it aren’t as meaningful as some of her other songs as she simply compares a broken love to a little wildflower: gone but never forgotten
arari: this is probably suji’s favorite track that she’s written for our songs. while on the outside it may not sound anything different compared to what she’s written before, the composition to this piece contains traditional korean instruments which was a challenge for suji. it’s also the reason why she only has partial compositional credits on this compared to the other solo songs that she’s written for the program—it’s not like she could learn how to implement those traditional instruments in two weeks. the actual mood of the song doesn’t stray too far from what suji’s songs already sound like, but the added instrumentation and the way the lyrics are also written in a traditional manner was supposed to be her way of showing contrast. getting assigned the color black was a nightmare for suji in the beginning, but the moment she decided to use historical elements and write a song that has her imagining the scene of a sageuk (historical drama), things started falling into place. the way she sings this song is different as well. there’s a little more depth to her voice as well as a rawness that she doesn’t usually include in her other songs. the overall atmosphere for this song wasn’t meant to be bright. it was intentionally meant to be dark and heavier just like the color black and while she would have liked to use even more traditional instruments, she thinks she did the best she could with the time and resources she was given
iljido: the third round was the toughest for suji because she’s actually never written for anybody else. the closest experience she has is co-writing go for the colla3orate project, but even that wasn’t as stressful. the fact that she went into the round without knowing who would be singing the song was beyond difficult for her. a habit of suji’s is to start out with lyrics; she always finds lyrics to be the easier part of a song. however, with this round, she began by putting the song charlie had written in the form on repeat. from there, she took inspiration for what kind of song the performer would like and tried to turn it into something. once the compositon came out, the lyrics came out pretty easily. the beat sounded like a lazy day, and so she decided to write about a lazy day. of course, she included her typical suji elements as well, trying to share the message that lazy days were fine and that they weren’t a waste. thankfully, charlie liked the ending product, and she thinks the older idol contributed so much more with her performance
heart stop: the only thing she did on heart stop was write the lyrics since joohwan had told her that he already had a composition in mind. the idea for these lyrics first came when she first saw the words heart drop coincidentally while surfing the web. she can’t remember the exact context of it, but it was about someone’s heart dropping at the sight of someone so that’s what she tried writing about first. however, the composition didn’t seem to be a fit to lyrics that talked about a fluttering experience such as that, and so she switched the word dropped with stop and decided to write about an instance where someone’s heart simply stops beating around the person they once used to love. the mood of the song wasn’t meant to be about butterflies in the stomach or bells ringing upon first seeing someone. it was much more fit about the end of a relationship or the divided feelings that someone ends up developing when they can sense their attraction faltering away. from there, it took only about three drafts for the lyrics to be completed. heart stop is a lot different from any kind of song that suji had sung for, and she had to switch her voice a little to fit the mood of the song. she had to throw away sweet for bitter and tried to give her voice a sharpness that doesn’t come out in her love songs. not just any kind of bitter too; not the bitter of heartbreak but more like the bitter of realizing that all things can come to an end no matter how beautiful they once were
i go: this is the song that probably took the longest to write despite having the least amount of time to actually write it. by almost getting eliminated, suji had emptied any kind of burden or expectations that she had with the program anymore. she simply wanted to end it on a note where she’s proud of herself for pushing the whole way through and making it to the final. it helped to promote unstable mindset in the middle of our songs because it had her realize that losing the program wasn’t going to be the end of the year. while she started out without feeling competitive, the more she went through the show, the more she wanted to stick it out to the end. however, by the time she actually got here, there was no more greed for winning. the title is very one dimensional, but it is a great summary to what the song is about. it’s basically about her going. going forward and continuing to make music because of all the people around her that will continue to support and love both her and her music. while it may seem a little hopeless from time to time, it’s a song that shares the message that there’s always going to be a way out. at times, our songs felt like a tunnel without an escape. she would spend hours at the studio trying to come up with something and not feeling satisfied with it. but she made it to the end, didn’t she? that means that there’s always a way out and always a road to go forward no matter how much she tries to hold herself back. oh, and she personally just loves how beautiful the music video turned out
